Ugh, that sounds like something that happened to me the other day, except it was in the bathroom. I look up and see this spider and I take a broom to it, we have this medicine cabinet thingy, and the spider falls on it, so I'm taking the broom and wiping so the spider will fall off, so I can make sure it's dead. I'm not too big of an expert on spiders, but I do know with roaches, you gotta squash guts to make sure they are dead and won't come back. The spider wasn't falling, so I lost the thing. Then I go back to the bathroom a few hours later and a spider is in the bathtub, sure wasn't gonna take a chance with it there. I turn the hot water on and drown the little bastard.

Jay did an awesome job with it. I've got that animation program, but I don't have a program to make blends. I would prob. give up with the first try, if I did have the program.

I love 80s music. I like a few of the one hit wonders and some of the artists that had quite a good career in the 80s, but you know the one thing I hate? Okay, I think this was on that 'Where are they now' show on VH1 and they were showing a little clip of Tommy Tutone (song: 867-5309 (Jenny)) and it's a pretty recent clip and he's singing the song so slow. I didn't really like the song to start with, but if a song is meant to be fast, sing it fast. Don't slow it down and drag it around. If you saw the clip, you know what I mean.

Yep, it does work. Might take a few minutes for it to kill the bug, but it does work.

Very rarely can a song survive as a fast song and a slow song, 867-5309 just didn't work slow. Not at all.

Talking about songs makes me miss Kazaa. :( Who got rid of Kazaa? I can't risk the fine. I know just talking to a person, you'd think, nah, they're safe. But my luck, and knowing my luck, I'd be one of the lucky ones to get a fine.

I just downloaded, I guess I technically shared, since the stuff I d/l was getting passed along. I never just got out a cd and started loading songs up on Kazaa. I came out pretty good though. I got a cd burner and burned all the songs I d/l. So I guess I did do pretty good. It's just I hate when I hear a song and I just go, damn, I can't d/l the song.

And I was still buying cds. If it's an artist I can really, really depend on that puts out good material, yeah I'll buy their cd. It's just Kazaa was useful if I heard a song and I could just d/l it and not buy the cd because the artist has a lot of filler stuff. I have very few cds I can actually say, I like just about every song or every song on this cd. And cd prices were getting outrageous, like 20 bucks per cd. But I think cd places are really getting desperate and the prices are starting to fall.

I'm not sure if this would work since it's morning sickness, but how about chewing gum? Congrats about the baby, have you found out if it's a boy or a girl yet? When are you due? Sorry if you answered the questions already.

But with the gum bit, sometimes I'll get nauseous and feel like barfing and I'll get some Extra chewing gum and just start chewing it. The chewing kind of soothes my stomach down. And avoid all food departments and food commericials. That really used to irritate me. I'd barf and the sight of food wouldn't exactly make me feel any better. Like I said before, the gum trick might not work. It might work a little bit, though.

Yeah...I'll buy a compilation CD, but mainly I like 1-5 songs by an artist and that's it. I can't afford to shell out $20 for 2 songs.

That's interesting. Never thought about that because gum usually makes my stomach hurt by putting too much air in it.

Exactly and I really used to do that with the 20 bucks for 2 songs. I'd foolishly believe after hearing one song, whoa, this artist rocks, I think I'll go out and buy the cd. And I'd come home and listen to it, and I'd be kind of disappointed when the cd sucked. Oh yeah, I liked a few songs on it, like 2, 3 or 4 songs, but the rest sucked big time.

See that gum trick will help some and other times it won't help some people. Okay, I was about to tell about my childhood stomach problems, it gets kind of gross, so I'll spare most of the details. I'm just saying, I barfed a lot when I was a kid. Food would do it to me. I used to be a big time Coke drinker. But the doctor told me that dark drinks weren't good for the condition I had. So I just stopped drinking dark drinks all together. I can't touch a lot of greasy stuff. I can't really touch spicy foods either. The spicy foods, I just found about about recently. I'd ate some Lasagna or something and I really started hurting (not stomach pains here), and I thought I was having a heartattack or something. The pain finally went away and I swore to myself, I'd never touch lasagna, spaghetti, anything like that ever again.

So as you can see from my mini list, I really had to watch what I ate. And like I said before in another post, sometimes gum would soothe my stomach. Other times I would chew gum to kind of get my mind off barfing, if I was in a place where I could not get to a bathroom soon enough. You know how schools are. So I usually stayed home when I knew I'd be sick and I could tell straight off the bat the days I would be sick. I won't go into details about that. I just thought I'd toss out the little gum trick.

You know, I like posting here in this random thread. I think I've posted more here in this one thread tonight than I have in a long time on the plain Chit Chat board. I'll still post occasionally if something interests me on the plain board, but for awhile there, all I was saying on the plain CC board was Happy Birthday and Congrats.

You'd better record it, just in case. If you have luck like me, you won't record it and it will be a Richard episode. If you do record it, it won't be a Richard episode. But if it isn't, you can just record over the ep if you don't like it.

And Solomon's topics, now I do agree he does put his foot in his mouth at times w/ some topics, but some of the topics he comes up with are quite challenging to answer. It isn't a topic like clipping toenails, he does ask some very interesting questions. That reminds me. I have to vent about Solomon. Again.

-He asks the same questions over and over and over again.
-They are challenging, but they are also bizarre.
-He pisses people off all the time but they're not allowed to piss him off.
-He makes up stuff and turns around words to suit his own point of view (which is frequently wrong, see the Good Times/Maude stuff)

I said I liked him once. I don't know what I was smoking that day.

You mean the whole deal with whether GT is a spinoff? My friend Shawn on here visit the GT board and he sent me the link to the argument about whether GT was a spinoff. I know that magazines do make mistakes, so I'm not calling Solomon a liar with his Ebony article. I think that's where he said he got the article at that states GT isn't a spin off. Look at all the retractions (?) for magazines. They goof and they correct themselves.

Solomon leaves me alone pretty much. He'll post something and I'll post a reply back, he'll quote me and we'll go back and forth that way, but he doesn't insult me and call me stupid or an idiot, nothing like that.

We do have the same luck, just a different situation here. My cable goes out when I really and truly want to record something. I'll use this one certain Twilight Zone as an example. 'Printer's Devil', it's got Burgess Meredith in it. I like Burgess and PD was one of the few hour long eps that I really liked. They'd show PD in some of the big TZ marathons and I swear it took me forever to get that one episode. Something would happen during that one episode each time I tried to record it. I finally got it last year, I think. Took me long enough, though.

And I'd say if so many people were saying 'Yes, it is a spin off.', then the people are right. Chances are one or two people can be wrong about certain things, but when you have a whole bunch of people telling you one certain thing, it's kind of like 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' and the audience poll thing. Now if 87% of the audience says one certain thing, but the rest say a totally different thing, you're gonna go with the majority. Hope that made sense.

I don't think you're the only one that gets pissed at the way he posts things. If you'll look at CC and see some of the replies he gets for his questions, you'll see a lot of people get upset at his attitude.

Those were def. the best years. You know, I got a question about music. Okay, we have our hitmakers from over the years. The ones that really pop up first in our minds. Like the 50s were Elvis. 60s were the Beatles. 70s were a lot of memorable people/bands. 80s you had Madonna. But who did we have in the 90s? Madonna again? Mariah Carey? Who do we have memorable from the 90s? About Madonna, love her older stuff. But now, I only like a few of her songs. About Mariah, I like her older stuff, also. Like only a few songs she's done lately.

Hmm...90's. You know, most of the 90s songs I like came from 80s bands/artists. Garth Brooks comes to mind though, but he isn't pop.

And Madonna and Mariah need to quit or something. Nothing they've done lately was any good.

We have a scroll on the bottom, a map of Iowa in the left bottom corner...some stations have the entire left side blocked off. Then of course if it gets near Des Moines or there's a tornado, they interrupt the entire program.

Now if 87% of the audience says one certain thing, but the rest say a totally different thing, you're gonna go with the majority. Hope that made sense.

Yeah, it does. If more than one person says it's right, using valid proof, it probably is.

Thanks about both things.. I have be trying that but the sugary taste to it upset my stomach more. Saltine crackers seem to help though..

Now, warning here, I might be shoving my foot in my mouth with this one, but I gotta reply about Madonna and Mariah. Just my opinion with the both of them, don't mean to offend any MC or Madonna fans.

Mariah- Stop whispering, girl! You got a beautiful voice, so use it! Mariah used to be able to belt the songs out and belt them out pretty good. Now it's just whispering. You know that song she did about Eminem? I think it was called 'Clown'. I started d/ling it one night and I started playing it and the beginning of it was just all whispery. I canceled the d/l. And I think Mariah is a pretty woman, but you ever heard that saying, Less is More? Mariah can dress however she wants, but I just get the feeling now she's in it to show as much T & A as possible. jmo about MC.

Madonna- Said it before, I love Madonna's 80s stuff. I like a few of her early 90s stuff. Then she kind of turned the tables all the way around. She started getting uppity. Maybe I'm not describing her right, but she's just went as fake as the rest of them, imo.

Well, you summed it up pretty good about Madonna. Was she having thoughts of not getting back to the top spot, unless she kissed ass?

And I know how Britney does remakes on some of her cds, I just hope she never covers a Madonna song. Well, let me rephrase that. I hope she never covers Madonna's 80s material. If she ever covers 'Material Girl', I'll just go and cry quietly to myself. Sorry, I just love MG, and it just pisses me off when someone covers something you really like, or uses the song in a commerical. They've got quite a few of my favorite songs in commericials and I know I'll never be able to hear the songs ever again and still like them the same way. Like that Pantene commericial, for instance. It's using Thomas Dolby's 'She Blinded Me w/ Science' and the John Stamos phone commericial uses some of Tears for Fears 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World'.

Are the stars out tonight? I don't know if it's cloudy or bright, but I only have eyes for you.

I think of the Dummy episode of the Twilight Zone. I think that's the song the dummy sings.
