The apartment with suitcases in their hands instead of just talking about what was going to happen. The way this episode was written, i think the producers were told by the network to END this series Immediately

I think the ending felt rushed and the plausibility factor went out the window in this final episode. Out of all the places in Chicago, how is it that Willona still ends up being Florida's neighbor? Now, if they had intentionally taken the same place, it would be better. I feel that the sudden opportunities that opened up for the entire family at the same time also tended to be ridiculous. The same can be said with the ending for "Three's Company." (and "Alice") Yes, Phillip is introduced in a previous episode, but suddenly Janet is marrying the guy, followed by Terri taking an unexpected yearning to move to Hawaii. I know that it is not always possible to construct the ending that show execs want, such as in "Good Times" case the series had been on hiatus for many months, before returning in mid 1979 to end its run; however, I think that a reasonable ending that long-time fans deserve should be presented instead of a half arse quickie job.

If this had occurred on "Mary Tyler Moore Show," it probably would have went something like this:

Mary-Meets Donald and marries him in the same episode
Lou-Suddenly gets back with Edie and decides to become a stay at home dad
Murray-Suddenly gets a yearning to be a captain of a cruise ship :)
Ted and Georgette suddenly adopt 3 more kids and move onto a ranch outside Minneapolis
Sue Ann-Takes a job as one of Hugh Heffner's Playmates
Chuckles the Clown returns (seems he wasn't crushed to death by an elephant, it wasn't him in the makeup) and buys WJM
Gordie- Gets a desire to move to Chicago and live in the Cabrini Green Housing Projects with his wife and three kids.
