Former Angel star Charisma Carpenter will co-star with Joe Millionaire's Evan Marriott and Charmed witch Holly Marie Combs in the upcoming ABC Family TV movie See Jane Date, TV Guide Online reported. The telefilm starts shooting June 13 in Montreal.

Dating with the ABC Family Channel. Charisma Carpenter (Angel, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer) and Holly Marie Combs (Charmed) start principal photography in Montreal on the romantic comedy See Jane Date, it was announced today (June 13) by Linda Mancuso, senior vice president, head of programming for the ABC Family Channel. The new film will be the third original summer movie for the channel and is scheduled to air August 2003. "We have been very fortunate to have exceptional talent for all of our original movies this summer and See Jane Date is no exception," said Mancuso.

Based on the best-selling book of the same name, See Jane Date follows Jane (Carpenter), a single girl in New York City, who tries to impress her high school nemesis, Natasha (Combs), by inventing the perfect boyfriend as her date to an upcoming wedding. With little time left before the big event, Jane embarks on a mission to find the perfect man (who also happens to fit the made-up description), sending her on an amusing series of blind dates.

Also appearing in the movie are Zachary Levi, Evan Marriott, Eddie McClintock, Cameron Mathison, Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Geoff Stults as the potential dates for Jane's wedding. Linda Dano plays Jane's Aunt Ina, who relentlessly nags her about being single.

The third time isn't always the charm as this last in ABC Family's trio of original 2003 romantic comedies this summer makes all too clear. While the two previous films, “This Time Around” and “Lucky 7,” were formulaic, they were well-constructed guilty pleasures. Not so with this ill-conceived Charisma Carpenter vehicle, in which she plays Jane, a New York single gal who is desperate to find an escort for her cousin's wedding in just four weeks. She suffers through a series of nightmarish encounters on her way to finding Mr. Right---and so does the audience. Holly Marie Combs and Linda Dano also star. Evan Marriott and Antonio Sabato Jr. appear as two of Jane's disastrous dates.


Airing again on Sunday August 17th.
