Ok I bought both Cheers and Frasier dvd's at the same time and when I finsished watching both of them I felt that Frasier was the better dvd choice, for it had way more features and episodes on it. I was very surprised when I saw the Cheers dvd cause I thought that it was going to outrank Frasier by a lot but IMHO it didn't. For you all who bought both of them like me what did you think? What could be improved in Season 2?
PS I'm not trying to bash Cheers I'm just stating my opinion.:p

i'm not sure why, but i never really caught on to frasier like i did cheers. i mean its a great show and i watch it every once in a while but theres just something about it... but i do agree that the cheers DVD could have more features than it did, i hope the season 2 DVD of cheers will have bloopers or something

It would have been nice if there were more xtra features, but i have to say having Cheers' first season is priceless and its good enough for this country girl...(sorry went into a Dianism) lol! It would be nice if the second season, had more features, but still i have to say that the episodes, the Normisims, the dianisms, Carla's Wit, Sam's stupidity and rage, The Norm, The Sam and Diane (YAY they r going out in this season! and as you can tell from my signature, Powerplay is my favorite Cheers episode...if i had to choose one lol ;) ), the Carla, the Coach, and the cliffy completely make up for any "xtra features" I can think of!
:D ME :D
ps: I have to agree with one for the road i never got into "Fraiser" I mean yeah it can be funny to watch at times some episodes {mostly i only watch episodes where Cheers stars cameo} but I never really "got into" fraiser. I liked him better as one piece of the entire pizza that was cheers.

I'm saying cause Frasier had the celebrity voices feature, casting, the setting, and commentary. Cheers had a trivia game (which was very easy), an interview, some Coach thing, and that was it. The should've had something about the struggles of the first season just cause in the beginning people thought it was horrible and look at it now its a classic. Hopefully they make some changes.

Nobody thought it was "Horrible" in the begginning to put it simply, Cheers was on a channel that nobody was watching, and was a show that nobody had ever heard of, with people that no one had ever heard of. But the critics loved it, how many shows do you know out there that recieved 5 emmy awards it's first season including including Best Comedy series, and lead actress in a comedy series. It was a classic from "give me a ring sometime" to "one for the road III"

Master L I think that as a DVD set, I agree w/ you that Frasier is better. Maria, I also agree that nothing beats the first season of Cheers. The developing relationships (esp the Sam/Diane "Tracy/Hepburn" thing), the dialogue, the camera work. . .(I could go on and on) hasn't been parallelled since. Even when watching the later seasons of Cheers (and I'm a Lilith fan, so I really like the Rebecca years as well) it's incredible to remember how innovative the first season actually was.

I totally agree with you maybe its cause Frasier is one of my fav shows I wanted it to be good but yes overall I loved seeing the Cheers first season without commercial interuptions. Hopefully they take more time making the features cause thats like my favorite part in a DVD

I know right, I know I get impatient when stupid commercials come on, especially during Super Bowl season man I hate that
