YEAH! Minnesota... perfect! Necesito dinero... gotta save $ now!

How much more expensive are these tickets compared to his summer tours? Any ballpark estimate for me?
I know the Christmas ones are a bit more expensive. Umm.. last year they were between 60-75. Try ebay? Honestly, for Christmas I got ALL the tix off ebay for face value or LESS [6th row, 8th row, 12th row].

08:52 PM: Long time; No blog!
Hey guys... Sorry it's taken me so long to write. I know many of you are probably up in arms over the delay.
Fear not! I have gone nowhere.

Actually, thats not literally true. Since tour ended a few weeks ago, I've been quite busy. I had the opportunity to spend a few days at home in Raleigh. The house I am building is coming along nicely, and should be done within a few months.
Since I am sort of homeless now, I spent a week in NYC. Kenneth Cole kicked off New York's fashion week and invited me to attend. It was my first fashion show, and quite interesting. I thought all of the models looked a little upset, but judging by how skinny they were, they probably were mad because they hadn't eaten in a few weeks. I really wanted to give them a burger or two!
Also had the opportunity to meet with the folks i work with at UNICEF to discuss Trick-or-Treat for UNICEf this year. So many of us have been extremely concerned about the residents of the U.S. gulf coast in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. In a somewhat unprecedented move, UNICEF is committing 50% of all of the funds raised during this years TOT campaign directly to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Keep an ear open. We'll be talking more about that in the coming weeks. I hope to make this year the most successful Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign EVER! No one can stir up enthusiasm like you guys, so I'm counting on you for your help.
I'm back in LA now, getting geared up for the Emmy Awards ceremony this Sunday. ET/The Insider have asked me to help out with their Emmy coverage. I am quite excited about that.
All of this while we are busy planning and preparing what will be a Joyful Noise Tour far above and beyond what last year's concert was. I'm up to my colorful holiday scarf in Christmas music and seasonal cheer. This show will be the best we have done so far. Lots of new aspects...but you'll have to wait on that too!
Now, I know this one has been a little long. I hesitated writing so much. Let's be honest.. for the next two weeks there will be discussion on numerous message boards from those people who think I wrote too much, from those people who think I didn't write enough, from those people who are glad I wrote a lot but expect even more next time, etc.
I'll say this... savor the flavor. As we dive head first into Joyful Noise 2005 preparations, I will do my best to write as much as I can when I can. But, on the times that they are short, please don't hate me.
If you long for lots of bloggin', I've double posted this one, so you can read it twice!

While I have your attention, one more thing!....
Nick is out of town for a while, and he has the camera with him. Therefore, we won't have new pictures to post for a little while.
Sorry.
But, I have nothing but faith in your creative abilities...
draw some!

11:00 AM: New people to know and love!
What's up, all!
Just finished a big week this past week. What, with all the Insider excitement, and what-not! Looking forward to an interview today with a big-time celebrity who has a career that I have admired for years. You'll be able to check that out in the next few days on The Insider.

Joyful Noise 2005 plans are well underway. As I have said before, we are making some exciting changes to this year's production. I am sure that you'll enjoy them!
One of the coolest and most exciting additions to JNT05 will be in the band. We have just confirmed the addition of an amazing musician who will be joining us on the road this holiday season.
William Joseph is an incredibly talented pianist signed to Warner Bros. Records. We are so fortunate to have him joining us to open the show AND be a part of our onstage band during the show, as well. I am sure that you will enjoy his incredible performances.
His latest album is available at your local record store, or for download on iTunes.
For those of you who crave as much information as possible, you can find out more about him at
www.william-joseph.com

I know you are all wondering about our forthcoming studio album as well. Rest assured that we are working on it. We may have some exciting news to tell you in the next few weeks. It may surprise you. Won't tell you anymore than that! HA HA.... talk amongst yourselves!

05:40 PM: T minus 29 hours and counting.
Anyone else ready for a little Joyful Noise?
Me too!

So... I'm sure some of you are bothered that I have been absent for so long. Sorry bout that. I warned you though. And truth be told, it may only get a little worse as the tour ramps up. Especially with me tutoring Gregory on the road. (Hey, maybe I'll have him blog some for me. What a great writing assignment!!)

As I write this, I am sitting on Jaymes Foster's porch at her house here north of Vancouver. It sits on a cliff and over looks a huge bay. All I can see in the distance is the sun setting over a vast expanse of water broken only by desolate mountainous islands. It's nice to have a peacful moment or so before the hectic pace of JNT05 begins. This place is beautiful.

By the way, did anyone see what time the Vancouver show starts?!?! What is that all about? 9:30!?!? Hope I don't put anyone to sleep. But, as you can see, I have no control over what time the show starts.

Speaking of the show...
I debated long and hard about whether or not to reveal any elements of the show during my piece on The Insider on last night. I finally decided that we would throw you all a bone and give you a taste of what to expect. You know how much I like to keep things a surprise and not give up secrets. Then today, I have searched HIGH and LOW to see what you guys were saying about what was shown on last night's show. NO ONE HAS MENTIONED IT!! What gives?

At any rate...
I'm thrilled that you guys will get a chance to see what we have in store for you starting tomorrow. This literally has been a labor of love. Amy Tinkham (the show's director) really took the script I wrote and made it absolutely magical on stage. She is a genius! Even through 15 or so run-throughs during rehearsals, we all still get chills during the show. It realy is great. I'm sure that you'll like it.
Now, to make sure we all get to to enjoy it as much as possible... let me clarify the photo policy.

Truth is, videos and photos of the show seem to be so important to some many people online that I think it would be horrible to take that away. So, if done in moderation, video recording will not be restricted by the folks on our tour staff. Now, that comes with a bunch of "ifs"...

--Please be respectful. If you choose to bring a camera. Please respect those sitting around you. Don't stand throughout the whole show to make sure your "clack" is the steadiest shot and the best quality. Please remember that the folks sitting behind you wanna see some of the stage too.

--Please be discreet. Try to record as if though you were not allowed to. If the venue feels that the recording is a distraction, they may ask you to stop.

--Please be understanding. I can't make rules that trump the rules already in place by the promoter and the venue. If the auditorium, theatre, arena, or promoter already have rules in place that say there is not video recording allowed, the fact that I say that it's okay is not gonna hold water. So if they ask you to stop.. you probably oughta.

-- Please be sensible. If everyone starts showing up with tripods and setting up like it's a Diane Sawyer interview shoot, we will readdress the situation.

As far as still pictures go...I only have one request. NO FLASHES.

There are so many people on the stage during this show. Dancers, actors, band members, etc. The flashes from numerous cameras only cause headaches and hazard for those of us on stage. We can't allow them at this show. Plus, once you see it, you will be able to tell that this is not the type of show that you will want ruined with flash after flash.

Truth is, no matter how good your camera is, the flash doesn't work at all after about 7 or 8 feet. Light like that disperses when it has to travel distances. If you are sitting more than three or four rows back, the only thing that your camera's flash is going to light up is the back of the head of the person in front of you. (Won't that be beautiful?) If you're sitting close to the stage, the beautiful lighting that's been designed by Junior (our lighting designer) will do the trick for you.

If you have a camera that has an automatic flash, chances are that there is a way that you can turn that function off. If there isn't one, or you don't know where it is, take a piece of black electrical tape and tape over the flash. This will keep all of us happy, and make the show as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved.

If we find that we continue to have flash problems, as we did last year, we will have to resort to disallowing cameras in the venue. It's the only way that we can insure the safety of the dancers, actors, and musicians on stage.

Now truth is, I know that I am preaching to the choir here. Most of you are the folks who would NEVER use flashes once you were asked not to.
I know that.
So I am telling you this because you are the BEST way I know how to get the information out to those who need to hear it. You are so great at that type of effort. Maybe you can gently and politely remind those around you of the importance of not flashing. Maybe you could carry some extra electrical tape and give it to those folks who can't quite figure out how to turn their flashes off. Maybe you can carry a baseball bat and beat them with it if they still won't turn it off! Feel free to be creative! You're great at that.

Now feel free to rip me apart for asking you to help me out on this. I've said my peace! I'm done!

But the most important part is to have fun. This show really is going to be one of my favorites. I can already tell. I sure do hope that it becomes one of your favorites too!

The season is about spending time with those you care about and those who are important to you. I'm so glad we get to spend it together.

See you on the road!

 I love how he said clack. Ohhhh Im so excited. And hes letting cameras in.

 I was just watching the movie Mean Girls... just substitute crack for clack!

Janis: We gotta crack Gretchen Wieners. We crack Gretchen, and then we crack the lock on Regina's whole dirty history.
Damian: Say crack again.
Janis: Crack.

That answers my question Clay! I was wondering because the Northrup Auditorium website says: "No Photographic or Recording equipment is allowed." Do I bother with a camera at all?

Now feel free to rip me apart for asking you to help me out on this. I've said my peace! I'm done!

Hello all! All I can say is My God! The concert was amazing last night! I loved every minute of it... would love to see it again.

My friend brought really good binoculars with to the concert. I tried them out first on the piano on stage. I could see the polish smears and finger prints! I told my friend we need to adjust them. Personally, I don't feel a need to see his skin cells rejuvenating or be able to count his freckles... wait, not an entirely bad idea huh?

Our seats rocked! 4th row is awesome, I gotta tell ya! He came over to our side of the stage many times and I swear he was looking right at me!

All the songs, skits, singing, dancing, acting, or whatever was well-done and impressive I thought. Clay was totally awesome and his voice has matured a great deal since I've heard him live. He was absolutely superb!

I don't know what people were thinking last night, but people still didn't understand the 'no flash' policy? They told you at the door... the ushers reminded you... security kept going through rows and telling people... they handed out electrical tape to people... other fans were reminding concert-goers... Clay made the taped announcement... and people still used flash! A person moved up closer next us and kept using flash... we reported her. She was escorted out thankfully. Apparently, the rules didn't apply to her?

Anyways, there was a family behind where my friend and I sat. Their daughter was singing with Clay and they were all excited. They watched AI, but just never paid attention until now. After the show, they were highly impressed. Their daughter did a great job... we met her after the show as well. She was just kind of in awe of the whole day. She was like Clay is so nice and talked with everyone. She was so cute... just like " WOW did this really happen to me?"

William Joseph was awesome... loved his set. The lights with the songs were really well-done. When Kashmir came on, I was like "This isn't a Christmas song! It's Led Zepplin!" My friend and I were like, "Oh yeah...Nothing says Christmas like Led Zepplin!" I bought his CD as well. Got a chance to get his autograph. I must say he is very nice and really cute! I even almost told him that too! I was talking to him and I just had said "you're very talented." Well, I was thinking "My God he's cute!" and I was saying "You're really... *awkward pause* ... talented." He looked at me funny and thanked me. But I saved myself there.

Man, I just wish I brought a camara. I could have had some awesome pics!

First, some Clay sophomore CD rumors..

Rumor floating on the boards are that his CD will be released sometime in April, and will be called Where I Belong. Again, these are just floating rumors, but if April is true then I am one happy gal!

12:09 PM: Unfortunate news.
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that, due to a personal issue that is very important to him, Jacob Luttrell will no longer be performing with us on tour.
Jacob has been an important part of our close-knit family for the past two years. He is loved by us all, and his presence and extraordinary talent will be sorely missed.

But our show will go on.

All of us wish him the best in his future endeavors.
I encourage you to continue to support Jacob's solo career. You may visit his website at www.thevocalcornerstore.com

Well.. you folks sure know how to speculate! It's been quite funny for all of us to read the different "knowledge" that so many have with regard to our little star, Gregory, and his "condition".

You should know by now that you can't believe what you read on the internet.

Allow me to assure you... Gregory is simply not feeling well. He's 11 years old and this is a grueling schedule that takes its toll on all of us. He is an AMAZINGLY professional young man, who shows all of us up on stage every night with his talent and energy. His "condition" is not a
"condition" at all. It is nothing serious and we expect fully for him to be back on stage showing us all up again very soon.
Your prayers and words of encouragement for him and his family are still appreciated, as they are for us all.

Really? Thats awesome! Youre not the only one who liked that song when it was on American Idol.

Wednesday night on American Idol, a contestant named Matthew Rolson said he felt he sounded like Clay Aiken and sang Clay's "Measure of a Man" for his audition. The judges didn't agree, and AI played a bit of Clay's version of MOAM on air to let people judge for themselves. Within 24 hours, Clay's CD Measure of a Man had leapt from #1360 to #3 on Amazon's Music bestseller list and to #1 on Amazon's Movers & Shakers list!

Trust me... that's nothing compared to the wait for Christina Aguilera's new album! Her answer for when is it coming out? "Soon"... that's been the answer for 2 years. We still don't have a release date or a whole lot details for that matter.

BSB's "Never Gone" album? Took close to 4 years... Clay's moving fast in my book.

BTW... where did you get that release date?

RCA.com, BUT they took it down about a day later! We're thinking someone got ahead of themselves [so maybe thats the real date!!], or its just not set in stone. I was hoping for a May release, then again I wanted the CD over a year ago.

Wow... it's been awhile and I'm shocked that I'm here. What's new? I just saw that Ace was kicked off AI... that's what I get for not voting for 2 weeks. :( But I have a good reason!

Since the beginning of the month, I was getting incredibly sick... but I had NO IDEA. On Monday, April 10, I went to work that morning like usual. By noon, I was having severe abdominal pain and major nausea. That night, I finally went to the ER. I thought I was having an appendix attack... nope. I had 2 major tumors - teratoma is the technical term. I guess Grey's Anatomy did a show on that recently? Well, yeah, I had teratomas. They were twisting my ovaries which was the abdominal pain. I had them removed that week by C-section... and with the damage they've caused, I no longer have my left ovary and tube... they also removed part of right ovary. :( On top of that, I have a blood disease that's a form of hemophilia. So I've been really sick in the hospital and recovering from the surgery. I was released on Monday.

Who's voting for who on AI? Any Clay news?

¤I Love Clay Aiken¤

08:37 PM: What you've been waiting for....
So folks...Are you ready for some album news? HOLD ON, here we go...the first of many tidbits to come!

As much as I would like to get the album all finished before I tell you what to expect, there seems to be no end to the speculation about the current recording process. I am here to let you know that the truth is...

Yes... we were in the studio last summer recording some of the songs you heard on last summer's tour. As the process continued on through the Joyful Noise tour, I found myself being drawn more and more towards songs that I had grown up hearing and singing. (Maybe that's why I liked the Jukebox tour so much.)

The more we listened to demos of new songs, the more I realized that they really just don't write great songs like they used to. You know, songs for singers! Clive Davis had the idea to try to not only recapture some of those great songs, but put a real fresh spin on them. So, after a meeting in December, we all decided to forgo the initial album in favor of a conceptual album of some of my favorite love songs from the past 25 years or so with great new arrangements and production.

We started up again in February agreeing on great songs and searching out just the right producers to make them each something special. Granted, it
sounds somewhat simple, but it has been a far more daunting task than any of us anticipated. Try to think of only ten of your favorite songs of the past twenty years.... not that easy, huh? There are just way too many. Now try to agree on 15 with three of your friends, even harder, right?

Additionally, matching these really great songs with really great producers who can breathe some new life in to them, make them fresh, new, and still keep them classic is tough too. But, the great news is... as long as it is taking, it is happening and it is shaping up to be something that I am really excited about. For those of you who hated the last three decades of music (so so sad) there will be some great new original stuff as well. For those of you who can't remember the last three decades, well.... all of it is new to you!!! We have picked a few original songs that we think are real gems, but the really great and exciting part (especially for me) is getting to take a crack a some of the favorite songs of my generation!

No news yet on a release date yet. (Does this help to quench your hunger for what's coming this year? So no complaining, as much as I love your curiosity...You have already got way more info than you were gonna get!)

But, it will be ready soon and not a minute before its perfect! We really want to make the best album possible for you, and I really think we are going to!! Anyone have any suggestions for the albums title?

Take care and thanks for your love & support...it's an exciting time for me right now, because I love being in the studio. Plus, it's cool to be making something great for all of us!

Poor Ace! I was so sad.. I was just starting to fall in love with him. :(

Oh wow, thats aweful!!! Glad youre starting to get better though and that you went to the hospital to see what was wrong. I probably wouldve thought I had cramps or something and ignored it. I watch Greys Anatomy! Im trying to think of that episode tho... is that when the guy thought he was having a baby? Or was it another episode? Anyways, again.. glad to see you getting better!!

I was trying to ignore the pain... but honestly that was the worst pain of my life. I felt dying was the better option. As for Grey's Anatomy... I don't watch the show. But the nurse was trying to explain the teratomas to me and mentioned it was on the show... so that could be it.

I'm rootin' for Katherine and Taylor... I'm thinking the finale will be Chris and Taylor.
