LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Shelley Morrison of NBC's "Will & Grace" has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft charges and will serve probation.

Morrison, 66, entered the plea Wednesday (June 4) in Los Angeles Superior Court. She was charged with shoplifting about $450 worth of jewelry from a Robinsons-May department store in the city on April 23.

"Clearly, a mistake was made," Morrison's lawyer, Donald Etra, tells the AP. "Ms. Morrison fessed up to that mistake and now she wishes to move forward. I think Ms. Morrison has certainly learned from this experience. She will never find herself in this situation again."

Morrison plays Rosario, the maid to socialite Karen Walker (Megan Mullally) on "Will & Grace." Her other credits include "The Flying Nun" and the movie "Fools Rush In."

She was originally charged with grand theft, a felony. The L.A. district attorney's office decide not to pursue a felony case, citing the value of the merchandise and the fact that Morrison had no criminal record.

In exchange for her plea, Morrison was granted one year of probation. She will have to pay a $300 fine.
