For me, the Facts is not only funny but nostalgic as I was the same age doing the same things as Jo & Blair when the show aired. No matter who you were -- these were people you could identify with.

I had a discussion the other day with a 2nd Generation fan of the show that brought up a couple of interesting points about TV then vs. TV now.

First: the Facts got laughs without being crude or vulgar (Count how many jokes on TV today involve bodily functions or sexual situations).

Second: it was a show that captured the essence of the time and the generation it portrayed. (90210? Dawson's Creek? Saved by the Bell? Not even close.)

Agree or disagree? Think of something we missed?

Jo: I don't think I can get this stuff down. I'll get some beer.

Natalie: How will you get beer?

Jo: I'll get some beer.

Being a 2nd Generation fan, I couldnt agree with you more. The show geared for teens like myself are pretty bland and unoriginal. Even though the first season of Dawson's Creek was great, now it just sucks. I could go on and on about that, but the point is that "They dont make em' the way they used to."

I was thinking about this the other day. All the teen shows now are one hour dramas, they're not sitcoms anymore. The 80's teen stars were people like Kirk Cameron, Chad Allen, and Allyssa Milano. Oh, and who can forget Ricky Schroeder? All sitcom stars. All the sitcoms out there now focus on adults, there aren't really any for kids Sabrina is the only one that comes to mind, there may be others, I just can't think of them right now) If you want to watch a teen show now you have to turn to the WB and watch Dawson or Buffy. All one hour dramas. Things are different now and it sucks. I want a funny teenager show and no more of this sex-driven drug induced stuff. I mean, there can be some of that, but we need alternatives. Light-hearted family sitcoms need to come back.

i totally agree with all of you, besides the facts, the only other time i watch tv is if i am really bored and waiting for the facts to come on! but all tv is now, is like trying to make us all think of like sex and drugs and all that crap. like you said there arent any good light hearted family SITCOMS out there any more. so i watch all the other 80's sitcoms that are slightly trying to make a comeback! i was born in 87, but i remeber siting in my aunts car with the good 80's music, Morrisey, The CURE, Springstien, i miss it all!! it is my early child hood and i wish life could still be like that! i also really admired how individualism was so popualar then, now everybody is so clique-y i personally, dress like Jo in seasons 2-5 because that is the style of clothing i like! but that is just me and i respect every body else who dresses the way they want to dress!
i can see that i am getting way off topic here! sorry bout that basically what i mean to say is, I MISS THE 80'S!!!!!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/tongue.gif bring it back!

Hey, Polniaczek13, you're stuck in the eighties too? It's all the rage at my school now actually, and I think it's awesome. I can't believe you mentioned The Cure, cause' I love the song 'Just Like Heaven'. And 'Friday,i'm In Love'. Going a little off topic here...
You dress like Jo, huh? That's cool, but I found the same blue old skool Nike's with the white swoosh that she wore in the second season. They were only twenty bucks at a Nike Factory store. I was like, 'Oh my God! It's Jo's shoes!Where's the checkout stand?"
