NBC announced over the weekend it has pulled its revival of the 1984-91 drama "Hunter" for the remainder of sweeps after only three episodes (and two movies, one in November and one in April). Fresh installments of the network's "The Most Outrageous Game Show Moments" specials will fill its Saturday, 8:00/7:00c time slot for the remainder of May sweeps.
The news comes as no surprise after the series' embarrassing 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 for its May 3 episode. Such a development undoubtedly means there's little chance the series will continue beyond its five episode order. NBC had previously put the drama back into production based on strong numbers for its reunion movie back in November. It is not known if the two remaining episodes will be burned off following the close of May sweeps.

They sure didn't advertise it much. I would have watched it if I had known it had started.

Didn't they only air 1 episode? I watched that one. I'd love to find some HUNTER of old as well, it was one of my favorite shows. I'm disappointed that it didn't do well :(

Nope. They aired a reunion movie in November. And then another (i think) movie to reintroduce the show, and then a few episodes. I was playing with my TiVo saturday, and taped the last episode (as of now) and I wished I had taped it.
Gosh I hate to see that. I thought Hunter was really good. NBC didn't ever advertise it and they put it on at a bad time.

Hunter was not advertised well at all.
Up until last week, while playing with my remote, I came across the show, and wondered "how long had they been back for?"
I did see the two actors on Hollywood Squares, though.

I know it's no Hunter, but Fred Dryer has a new Facebook page and apparently he even has a weekly radio show.
The page looks like he updates it himself and it says he needs a lot of help getting the word out.
Maybe if we spread the word we'll be able to get the rest of the DVD sets to come out!
