View Full Version : A Possible Reason For The "No Big Deal" Attitude

The earlier thread about the pleasant atmosphere of the "Wings" set, as well as the lack of petty jealousies and arguments among the cast members got me thinking....

Many of us wonder why "Wings" didn't get the attention and respect that it deserved. Part of the reason could be that it didn't "make a lot of noise" like some other higher-profiled series do.

You hear about other shows where cast members hold out for ridiculously high salaries, threaten to quit, consider themselves "too good" for TV once they appear in a hit movie, etc.

I never remember hearing ANY of that nonsense with the "Wings" crew. Even when Thomas Haden Church quit, he didn't do it for the "David Caruso" reason (that he was going to become a BIG film star)....He quit because he was afraid of forever being typecast as a "stupid dolt". Quite frankly, I can see his point. I wish that he HADN'T quit, but I can't say that I blame him for doing so.

So maybe that's it....The "Wings" cast didn't draw attention to themselves by publically complaining, having temper tantrums or trying to financially blackmail NBC with much-publicized threats to quit. Those people just worked hard and did their job very well instead of being a bunch of difficult "squeaky wheels".

Just a thought....

That might have been a facror. Man, it seems like if someone on the cast of Friends so much as sneezes, it makes the news... :barf: (I SO can't stand Friends!)
