Wally's Drag race! (fan fiction)

Ok everyone finally one of the Cleaver kids has went and got a wild hair. Picture it Wally is driving Eddie Haskell and Lumpy home from a basketball game ( of course Lumpy's car has broke down and is in the shop)and they drive up on a drag race that is going on. Wally at first wants to take a alternate route and get home as soon as possible, according to Wards instructions. This is where Eddie chimes his two cents in:
Eddie:"What are ya doin Sam?"
Wally:"Im gonna take route 37 and go around dad said I shouldnt waste any time getting home."

Lumpy:Yeah,real square
Wally:What do you mean?
Eddie:Youre not really gonna bow down to the pops every wish are you,Gertrude?
Wally:He said for me to drive straight home after the game Eddie
Eddie: Oh come on Wally lets at least check it out it looks like a real blast.
Lumpy: Yeah come on Wally, the game ended early and your dad will never be the wiser.
Eddie: You see Wally we got it all planned out?
Wally:Gee,I dont know guys.
Eddie:Come on,We'll just stay for a minute just to see what all the commotion is about then well scram,really Wally.
Wally:Just for a minute?
Lumpy:Yea sure Wally, we wont stay long.
Wally:Well....I guess it wouldnt hurt just to look around a little.

The guys get out of Wards car and see a crowd of teenagers cheering and chanting.Then their attention is turned to a slick looking older teenager about the age of nineteen, making an announcement.

Slick teenager:Ill pay anyone 20 dollars on a five dollar bet that they cant outrun me and my car in a dragrace!

Eddie glances at the guys car which is in horrible looking condition an old clunker at first glance a sure thing in Eddies mind....

Eddie(leaning over to Wally and whispering softly)This things a sure thing Wally,lets use your pops car.
Lumpy:Ill drive Wally theres no way we could lose.
Wally:Hold on fellas!Hold on right now,there is no way Im gonna let you race my fathers car.
Eddie:Come on Sam its money in the bank!
Lumpy:Really, Wally that car is a hunk of junk.
Wally:No way guys,no way!
Eddie turns and whispers something into Lumpys ear and they both share a grin.
Eddie:Hey Wally,didnt you say Mary Ellen Rogers birthday was coming up,and you didnt have the cash to get her anything good?
Wally:Well, yea but whats that got to do with anything Eddie?
Eddie http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gifont you see Fabian? If you win the purse on this drag race you could afford to buy Mary Ellen something that will have her falling at your feet.
Lumpy:She would be eating out of your hand.
Wally:I dont think so guys,this guy looks like a real operator,I dont wanna get rooked besides all Ive got is a couple of bucks.
Eddie: No problem Sam, Ive got a buck and Lumpy will chip in the other two wont ya Lump?
Lumpy (looking bewildered)yea Ill throw in the cash.
Eddie:And since were using the old mans car Well give you ten bucks of the prize money and Lump and I will split the rest of the dough.
Wally(pondering the idea)Do you really think its a sure thing?
Eddie:Man it'll be like taking candy from a baby.
Wally:Lump, You promise to take good care of my dads car?
Lumpy:Sure thing Wally, not a scratch.

Should I continue or is it getting lame?

Write some some. I think you're doing great! It sounds just like the way Eddie and Lumpy would talk to Wally.

Wally:Man I sure need the dough, I dont wanna let Mary Ellen down.
Eddie: Then Wally, you gotta jump on this opportunity you may not get another one.
Wally: I guess your right....His car does look like a hunk of junk...and Lump you think you can win?
Lumpy:Can I win? Wally,My father says I drive like I am competing in the Indianapolis 500.
Wally:Ok,Lump but try not to wreck it,my dad will kill me if I mess his car up.
Eddie:Then its settled, dont worry this wont take ten minutes.

Eddie collects the money and walks over to the slick teenager.

Eddie(snickers)you better believe it.
Slick teenager(announcing loudly)Finally, we got someone with guts,let the racing begin.

The slick teenager collects the money and gives Eddie some instructions. Eddie makes his way back to Wally and Lumpy.

Eddie:Its all set, Lumpy you pull the car over where those two guys are standing and and they will tell you where to start.
Lumpy:Ok, I cant wait to earn some easy dough.
Wally:I sure hope you know what you are doing Eddie.
Eddie http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gifont worry Sam!Youre starting to sound like my grandmother.

Lumpy lines the car up opposite the other car and the slick teenager addresses the racers and the crowd.

Slick teenager:Allright, when I lower this rag,take off! The first one to the end of the road where my sister is standing is the winner, are the racers ready?

Both Lumpy and the other racer revs up their engines and Wally gives Eddie a concerned look. Eddie laughs and elbows Wally in the side as to reassure him of the easy payoff.

Slick teenager: Ok, ON YOUR MARK GET SET GO!

Lumpy and the other racer take off. The race is pretty even at first and then the other driver swerves and tries to make Lumpy slow down and avoid him. Lumpy holds his ground however and looks a bit worried.

Wally: Whats going on Eddie?
Eddie:Ahh, dont worry Wally hes just trying to bluff him.(Eddie starting to look worried)

The race continues even, until the other driver swerves one last time and bumps, Lumpy and causing him to swerve off the road and onto the side of the road. The other driver speeds across the finish line while the crowd cheers. Eddie and Wally make their way to the crowd obviously upset.

Eddie: Hey you guys cheated us!
Slick teenager:Pay up pal!
Wally: No way, Youre guy didnt race fair and we aint payin you nothin!
Slick teenager:Oh yeah?
About that time a bunch of other big mean looking guys crowd around Wally and Eddie.
Wally:Give him the money Eddie(Wally obviously disgusted with Eddie)
Eddie:What do you mean Sam? These guys are just bluffing.
about that time one of the big guys balls up his fist and shows it to Eddie right in his face.
Eddie(counting the money into the slick teenagers hand)Ok, Ok you dont have to get violent.

After paying the Slick teenager, Wally and Eddie walks away from the crowd and heads to where Lumpy is waiting.

Wally:Boy Eddie I oughta sock you right in the nose for talking me into this mess!
Eddie:How was I to know he was gonna cheat,Wally?
Wally:I dont know,but it seems like you are always getting us mixed up with guys like that. Besides I told you he seemed like an operator and his operated us out of five bucks.
Eddie:Look on the bright side Wally,at least the pops car is still in one piece.
Wally:Yea, I guess so, but that isnt gonna buy Mary Ellen Rogers anything for her birthday.

Eddie and Wally finds Lumpy standing outside of the car shaking his head.

Lumpy:Boy! I oughta sock that guy right in the teeth,for running me off the road like that.
Wally:No way Lump, were taking our losses and going home,besides Eddie almost got us killed a minute ago.
Eddie: If you would have given me a minute I would have had those charachters eating out of our hands.
Wally: Even when you screw things up really good Eddie you still manage to be a wiseguy!
Lumpy shakes his head in agreement and they all get into the car and go home to Mayfield.
Wally enters his house to find Ward,June and the Beaver sitting in the den.

Wally:Uh, yeah mom we won by ten points.
Ward:Well,son you dont seem to happy about it?
Wally:Uh, its not that dad Im just tired from all that runnin,may I go up to bed now?.
Ward:yes,son if youre that tired I suppose you can.
Wally goes up stairs and June and Beaver look puzzled.
June:Ward, do you suppose something is bothering Wally?
Ward:At that age one could never know.
Beaver:He probably met some new girl who was acting all mushy about him,and thats whats got him acting all weird.
Ward smiles lightly while June gives beaver a look of dissaproval.

Its Saturday morning and Ward,June, and the Beaver are eating breakfast when Wally enters the kitchen.

Ward:Wally, you really must have been tired its not like you to be late for breakfast.
June:Especially for bacon and eggs.
Beaver:It must be a girl!
June:Beaver!
Wally:Cut it out you little creep!
Ward:Now that will be enough of that you too.Wally just because you had a rough evening playing basketball gives you no call to snap like that, and Beaver that is enough of your wise cracks.
Wally:yes sir.
Beaver:yes sir.
Ward:Its bad enough that I have to go into the office on Saturday, Ill not have you too ruining breakfast too.
June:Ward would you like me to fix you some coffee to take with you?
Ward:No,no June Im late enough as it is.
Ward gathers his briefcase and heads out the door and kisses June on the cheek.
Ward goes into the garage and just as he is about to get into his car,he notices a large scratch on the rear fender and spotches of black paint.

Ward reenters the house with an obvious look of dissapointment on his face, and finds Wally and Beaver finishing up their breakfast and June starting on the dishes.

June:Ward, did you forget something?
Ward:Im afraid not,Wally could you come out into the garage?
Wally:Uh, is there something wrong dad?
Ward: Id say so, just come on out into the garage?
June:What is it Ward?
Ward ignores Junes question and storms out of the door.
Beaver:Boy, Wally you must have really did something dad looked mad enough to clobber ya.
June follows Ward out of the door and Wally and the beaver follow also.
In the garage
Ward:Wally would you like to explain how this scratch got on my car and where this black paint came from?
June:Wally did you wreck your fathers car?
Wally:Gee, dad I didnt think we messed it up?
Ward:What do you mean we?
Wally:Well its kind of a long story.
Ward:Then I suggest you start explaining.
Beaver:Boy Wally you really messed dads car up.
June:Beaver thats enough.
Wally:Well dad,Eddie Lumpy and I were coming home from the basketball game last night and we came up on these guys racing.
Ward:yes
Wally:I was gonna take an alternate route home to avoid the crowd but the fellas wanted to see what the action was all about.
Ward:And I suppose you went along with the "fellas" and stopped.
Wally:Well I didnt want to but Eddie said it was still early and we should check out the action.
Ward:I should have known Eddie Haskell would come into the picture eventually.
Wally:Well when we got out we saw this guy asking people to race,he said that he would pay twenty dollars on a five dollar bet on any one who could beat his car....
June:Wally!You didnt gamble did you?
Wally:Well, mom Eddie said it was an easy bet and besides I needed the money to buy Mary Ellen a good birhtday present.
Ward:So you listened to Eddie Haskells brilliant advice?
Wally:Well kind of.
Ward:I cannot believe you would go along with such a thing,first of all we gave you specific instructions to come straight home after the game,second you know gambling is wrong,I dont know what to do with you.
Beaver: Are ya gonna clobber him dad?
June:Beaver!
Ward:Young man you go into the house Ill discuss this with Wally.
Beaver:Yes,sir
Ward:Who wrecked the car?
Wally:Well Lumpy did the racing.
Ward:Well, Ill talk to Fred at the office you call Eddie Haskell and tell him I want to discuss this with you too further this evening, until that time you can stay home today and help your mother do house chores.Im very ashamed of you Wally.
Wally:Yes sir

Ward gets into his car and leaves, Wally and June go back into the house.

Beaver:Wally,do you think Dad is gonna really give it to you when he gets home
Wally:I dont know Beav but I sure wish I would have never met that old Eddie Haskell.
Beaver:Wally why do you think Eddie always gets us into trouble?
Wally:I dont know beav but Im gonna clobber him so good he'll never get me into any more

trouble!
Beaver: Are you really gonna clobber him Wally?
Wally:Well probably not,but it sure does help acting like I am.
Beaver:yeah I guess so,sometimes Gilbert gets me into messes and I wanna clobber him, then I get to thinking about mom and dad, so I just think about it. I think I hit him harder when I just think about doing it.
Wally:Gee,Beav I never thought about it that way but I guess you are right.

Wally:Yeah he should be here any time.

About that time the doorbell rings and June answers it to find Eddie Haskell standing in the doorway.

June:hello Eddie
Eddie:Good evening Ms. Cleaver, Im sorry for my tardiness but my father was discussing last nights incident with me at home,Mr.Cleaver called him at home.
June:Thats fine Eddie. Go on upstairs with the boys Ward will be home soon.
Eddie:yes maam

Eddie goes upstairs into the boys bedroom.knocks on the door.

Wally:come in!

Eddie enters

Wally:Oh its you!
Eddie:What kind of greeting is that?
Wally:What do you mean, I oughta belt you right in the face instead of saying hello.
Eddie:Maybe, but I didnt know your pop would get this sore Wally.
Wally:Thats your problem Eddie you never think anything through and I cant believe i let you get me in these jams.
Eddie:Well if its any consolation to you my pop has been hollering at me all day, your dad called him this morning and told him all about it.
Wally:so he really let you have it?
Eddie:yeah he said that I had to come over here and get round two from your old man.

June(calling from downstairs)Wally, Eddie your father is home.
Wally:yes mom well be right down

Wally and Eddie make their way out the door and Beaver tries to follow.

Eddie:Where are you going halfpint?
Beaver:I wanna see the clobberin
Wally:No way Beav you stay right were you are!
Beaver:Ok, ok but Im sure Ill be able to hear the yellin from up here.

Wally and Eddie head down the stairs and into the Wards study where they find him sitting at his desk.

Ward:What were you two thinking?Did you not think of the repercussions?
Wally:Boy,did I dad.
Ward:What about you Eddie?
Eddie:yes, Mr. Cleaver(said softly)
Wally:We thought about the bad stuff that could happen dad, but I guess I was thinking more about twenty dollars.
Ward:Well, quite frankly I am dissapointed in the both of you,you are both old enough now to know that these sorts of situations lead to nothing but trouble.
Wally:We sure know now.
Ward:Thats the point Wally,you never think about these things until the aftermath.
Wally:yes,sir.
Eddie:Mr. Cleaver, for what its worth i am real sorry for getting Wally involved in all of this.
Ward:Well Eddie Im glad to hear that , but Wally is his own person and he should have known better also.
Eddie:Ill pay for the damages to your car.
Ward:Wally and you will both take care of that, I spoke to your father earlier and we came to an agreement that the fifty dollars it cost for the repairs will come out of you boys allowance until it is paid for.
Wally:yes,sir.
Eddie:yes,sir.
Ward:I hope this will teach you fellas that in the future that everything that looks like a sure bet may not be as it seems.
Eddie:yes sir Mr.Cleaver from now on I will be very weary of any business transactions I make.
Ward:Im sure you will Eddie(Ward says grinning)
Wally:Are we done now dad?
Ward:Yes I suppose you guys can go.
Eddie(getting up to go out the door)Thank you so much for the lecture Mr. Cleaver I will try to apply it in the future.
Ward:yes Eddie.

Wally and Eddie leave the den and June walks in shortly thereafter.

June:Ward,did you straighten things out with Wally and Eddie?
Ward:I believe I'll have them walking the straight and narrow for the time being.
June:You werent to harsh were you?
Ward:no, I simply informed them that things arent always as they seem, and I also told them that the damages to my car will come out of their allowances.
June:Ward,Do you suppose that Wally will ever get involved in another situation like this?

They both share a mutual smile and the screen fades to black. I hope everyone enjoys it Im sorry it took me so long to finish.
