I don't know how far down Good Times went in the ratings between September 1978 and January 1979 when it was on Saturday nights against CHiPS but I can tell you that they were pretty low to put Good Times back on Wednesday nights a couple months later where it was against Eight Is Enough. I know that both CHiPS and Eight Is Enough crushed Good Times in the ratings,I guarantee that. I have the book on the ratings to all of the shows and the last time that Good Times was in the top 30 was in the 1976-1977 season where it finished 28th for the year. My guess would be that Good Times may have finished in the bottom 10 shows for the last season.

The show should have just ended after the 1977-1978 season because there was never a explanation about what happened to the Carl Dixon character. The fact that he proposed to Florida, never understood why he was never mentioned.

I am MORE than willing to let that slide by because it was a big mistake bringing him into the scene. At the beginning Florida grieves over James' death and at the end of the season she is preparing to marry Carl. No way!

So u r saying it should have been atleast the next season before they gave Florida a romantic interest instead of that same season? I agree.
