Is it true that the kitchen was the only room showed in the Jeffersons House while they were characters on all in the family? I don't remember seeing no other room in the house until Mike and Gloria moved in the jeffersons old house during the 75-76 season. Let me know if I'm right.

Yes,you are right, the kitchen is the only section of the Jeffersons' house that they show in each and every episode that the Jeffersons were in that house. I find that strange myself that they only showed the kitchen as when Mike and Gloria moved in that house they showed the entire house. Very strange indeed.

I was surprised to see that the kitchen looked the same when Mike nd Gloria moved in. Do you know if stayed that way? Did the color change or did it remain the same?

I think the kitchen did get painted when Mike and Gloria moved in and the appliances in the kitchen were different than they were when the Jeffersons were there.

Yeah when the Jeffersons was living there it was the color of yellow in the kitchen.

Another thing I found interesting, was how in episodes of Archie Bunker's Place,we often saw Barney Hefner's house, which looked remarkabley like the Stivic house. With a few minor differences here and there. But I'm sure that's because they used the same studio set interior. It's still quite interesting.I wonder how many others noticed that?

Not strange at all when you think about it. The Jeffersons were minor characters. Their short interactions did not require them to be in more than one room. Mike and Gloria needed their living room and bedroom to be shown to support many scenes in these rooms (arguing in bed, having Thanksgiving dinner, etc.)

I don't think the Jeffersons were minor characters once Sherman Hemsley arrived. Maybe from 71-73 they were minor. You could tell the Jeffersons were becoming popular from the storylines in 73 and 74. George and Archie making a Deal. Lionel Temporary moving in with the Bumkers. So i do think it's strange we saw no other room but the kitchen during 1974.

The Jeffersons certainly didn't have as many lines and scenes as the Stivics, so why build and furnish sets for the purpose? I think it was more in the name of economy than anything else.

I also realized that the Bunkers never visited the Jeffersons at THEIR House next door. Archie and Edith never went inside the Jefferson House until they moved-LOL It was the Jeffersons always visting the Bunkers.

So then you see why, right? There weren't any rooms at the Jefferson "house."
