THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW Sets Up Class on TBS Superstation in October
TBS Superstation—home of the Non-Stop Comedy Block, basic cable’s #1 sitcom block—continues to expand its portfolio of hot, contemporary comedies by adding THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW to its daytime line-up in October. The series is distributed by Sony Pictures Television (SPT).
“TBS Superstation’s Non-Stop Comedy Block has proven to be one of basic cable’s shining stars, delivering more young adults than most networks deliver during prime time,” said Dennis Quinn, executive vice president and general manager of the Superstation. “With a hot show like THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW in our daytime line-up, we can build the lead-in to the Non-Stop Comedy Block, making it stronger than ever before.”
THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW stars Harvey as a former R&B star who gives up his wild times to become an inner-city Chicago music teacher. Cedric the Entertainer stars as Harvey’s high school friend, who is now the school’s gym coach, while Wendy Raquel Robinson stars as Harvey’s no-nonsense principal.
THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW ran for six years on The WB, earning 13 NAACP Image Awards. It was executive-produced by Bernie Brillstein and Brad Grey, series creator Winifred Hervey, director Stan Lathan and Jeff Duteil. Walter Bennett Jr. served as co-executive producer. The series is from Brillstein-Grey Communications, Winifred Hervey Productions and Stan Lathan TV.
