During my spring break I had to endure a six hour drive to Dallas, but fortunately I brought my laptop along and was able to write 2 fanfics. One on the way and one on the way back! This is the first one I wrote, I'm posting it all at once, so it's kinda long, but I hope you like it.

Beaver and “Happy”

This story is written to fit somewhere into the second season.

Scene 1: Dining Room-Night.
Everyone has just sat down to supper.

WARD: These lamb chops are wonderful dear.
JUNE: Why thank you honey. How’s yours Wally?
WALLY: Great mom.
JUNE: How about yours Beaver?
BEAVER: Real neat, mom.
JUNE: Well, I’m glad everyone likes them. I don’t make them very often, so I was a little worried about how they would turn out.
WARD: Well, they turned out delicious.
JUNE: (smiles)
WARD: You know something June? Someone in this room has a birthday coming up in a few days and this certain someone hasn’t told us what he wants.
JUNE: Yes. I know.
(Ward and June look at each other then at Beaver waiting for a reply, which doesn’t come.)
WARD: Were you even listening Beaver?
BEAVER: Oh. What was the question dad?
WALLY: (laughing) They want to know what you want for your birthday you goof.
JUNE: (gives Wally a disapproving look.)
BEAVER: Oh. Well I only want one thing.
WARD: Oh, you do?
BEAVER: Yep.
(Ward and June wait to hear what he wants but he never says)
WARD: Well, what is it?
BEAVER: Well, if I told you, you’d say no.
WARD: How do you know, unless you ask?
BEAVER: I just know.
JUNE: Well, how about telling us anyway Beaver?
BEAVER: I want a puppy.
WARD: A puppy? Absolutely not.
BEAVER: Gee dad, how come?
WARD: You seem to have forgotten about what happened last time you had a dog.
BEAVER: Oh. Well, heck dad. I was just a little kid back then.
WARD: Beaver, you didn’t take care of Captain Jack when you had him. Your mother ended up taking care of him. That’s why we had to get rid of him.
BEAVER: I’ll take care of a puppy if you get me one dad, honest! I’m older now! I’m more ‘sponsible!
WALLY: Yeah dad. He is older. And I would help him take care of it too.
WARD: I’m sorry Beaver, but the answer is no.
BEAVER: (sadly) Yes sir. (puts his elbow on the table and rests his head in his hand, looks down sadly at his plate and begins picking at his food with his fork.)
(June and Wally give each other a disappointed look and everyone finishes dinner in silence.)

Scene 2: Boys Bedroom-Night.
Wally is sitting at his desk, doing homework. Beaver is in bed, staring at the ceiling.

WALLY: Hey Beav, what are you doing?
BEAVER: Just thinking.
WALLY: Thinking about what?
BEAVER: I was just thinking about all the stuff I would do with my dog if I had one.
WALLY: Oh. Well, you’re wasting your time. Dad sounded pretty sure of himself when he said no at supper.
BEAVER: Yeah, I know. But I can still think about it.
WALLY: Yeah, I guess so.
BEAVER: Hey Wally?
WALLY: Yeah?
BEAVER: Why does dad not think I would take care of a dog?
WALLY: Well, I guess he’s just remembering how mom always took care of Captain Jack.
BEAVER: Boy. What a rotten deal.
WALLY: Yeah. Well, there’s nothing you can do about it now, so just go to sleep.
BEAVER: Ok, but I‘ll probably dream about having a dog, and then it‘ll be worse!

CUT TO - LIVING ROOM
Ward is sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper. June comes in carrying a tray with cups and coffee. She sets the tray on the coffee table and begins pouring Ward a cup.

JUNE: Ward?
WARD: Yes?
JUNE: Why won’t you let Beaver have a dog?
WARD: Now June. Don’t tell me you aren’t on my side.
JUNE: Its just…well, he wants one so much. I hate to disappoint him.
WARD: Don’t you remember when he had Captain Jack? You ended up taking care of him by yourself.
JUNE: Yes. I know that. But he said he would take care of his dog if you bought him one…and he is older now. I think we should trust him.
WARD: Now dear…
JUNE: (interrupting) Ward. I want you to get him a dog.
WARD: Now June. I know you don’t want to upset him by not getting him what he asked for on his birthday, but I just don’t want him to have a dog now. We can just get him something else and in a few days he probably will have forgotten about the whole thing.
JUNE: But Ward.
WARD: June…
JUNE: Oh alright dear. But I wish you’d change your mind.
WARD: Well, I’m afraid I’m pretty much decided.
JUNE: Yes dear.

Scene 3 - Living Room - Day
June is sitting in the chair reading a magazine. The doorbell rings and she gets up to answer it. She quickly pats her hair and brushes her dress to make sure she looks presentable and opens the door and finds Eddie standing there.

JUNE: Oh. Hello Eddie, come on in.
EDDIE: Why thank you very much Mrs. Cleaver. (Eddie comes in and looks around) I see your house is nice and clean as usual. You do a very nice job. Almost as good as Mrs. Stewart.
JUNE: Mrs. Stewart?
EDDIE: Our cleaning lady. Mother’s too busy with her social activities to clean the house you know.
JUNE: Yes Eddie. If you’re looking for Wally he’s out back with the Beaver.
EDDIE: Oh yes. Thank you Mrs. Cleaver. I stopped by to see if I could borrow a book from him.
JUNE: That’s fine Eddie.
EDDIE: (heading toward the back door) Oh, by the way Mrs. Cleaver. I’m not usually one for carrying tales, but I believe young Theodore has left his bicycle lying in the driveway. I would hate for Mr. Cleaver to come home from work and find it lying there.
JUNE: Thank you Eddie. You can tell Beaver to come move it.
EDDIE: Yes Mrs. Cleaver.
(Eddie goes out back and June rolls her eyes as she closes the door)

CUT TO - Backyard

EDDIE: Hey men.
WALLY: Hi Eddie.
BEAVER: (in a sad voice) Hi Eddie.
EDDIE: Hey squirt, your mom wants you to get your bike out of the driveway before your dad finds it there and blows his top.
BEAVER: Yeah, ok. (Beaver says sadly and slowly walks away)
EDDIE: Hey, what’s the matter with him?
WALLY: Oh. He’s just upset because he asked for a dog for his birthday and dad said no.
EDDIE: Oh.
WALLY: Yeah, and I don’t want you to give him the business about it either. He’s pretty shook up about this.
EDDIE: Don’t worry about it Sam! I’m all heart!
(Beaver returns after putting his bike away)
EDDIE: Hey kid, it’s too bad you can’t have a dog.
BEAVER: Gee Eddie, how’d you know about it?
EDDIE: Wally told me. And really I know it’s a rotten deal. I had to beg for three years before my dad finally gave in and got me a dog.
BEAVER: Three years? Boy. I don’t want to wait three years.
EDDIE: Yeah, well sometimes you just have to be patient. But listen here, knowing your parents they’ll probably break down and buy you one anyway.
WALLY: I don’t think so Eddie. Dad seemed pretty definite last night.
EDDIE: Yeah. Well that may be, but give it time. I bet he’ll come through.
BEAVER: Do you really think so Eddie? (Beaver asks excitedly)
EDDIE: Sure!
BEAVER: Oh boy! Maybe I will get a dog after all! I’ll see you guys later! (Beaver goes in the house)
WALLY: What’d you have to go and do that for?
EDDIE: Do what?
WALLY: Get his hopes up about getting a dog.
EDDIE: Heck Wally, I was only trying to cheer the kid up. Besides, your dad probably will get him a dog.
WALLY: Well, maybe, but he probably won’t. And you had to go get his hopes up, so now he thinks he will get a dog, and when his birthday comes and he doesn’t get a dog, then…oh boy.

Scene 4 - Boys Bedroom
Beaver is sitting on the bed writing something in a tablet. Eddie has gone home, Wally comes in.

WALLY: Hey, what are you doin’ Beav?
BEAVER: Writin’ stuff.
WALLY: What kind of stuff?
BEAVER: I’m writing different stuff I want to name my dog. Tell me what you think of the names I have so far. I was thinking if we got a little dog, we could name it Ralph or Rusty. And for a big dog, I was thinking we could name it Bear.
WALLY: Aww, that’s sissy. What about a tough, manly name…like Brutus! Oh, wait a minute, listen Beav, I don’t think you oughta be doing that.
BEAVER: Why not? Eddie said Dad would probably give in.
WALLY: Yeah, but I thought you would have figured out by now that listening to Eddie isn’t the smartest thing to do.
BEAVER: What do ya mean Wally?
WALLY: Beav, Eddie was givin’ you the business. I told him not to but you know him. When you tell him not to do something that’s when he has to go right ahead and do it.
BEAVER: You mean…I’m not gonna get a dog?
WALLY: Well, I don’t know, but from the way dad sounded last night, probably not.
BEAVER: Boy. What a jip.

Scene 5 - Kitchen
It’s the day before Beaver’s birthday. June is standing by the sink cutting carrots for dinner. Ward walks in the door from work carrying a large sack and a box.

JUNE: Hi dear.
WARD: (Kisses June’s cheek) Hi.
JUNE: Well, what’s that you have there?
WARD: Oh, just a few things I picked up for Beaver’s Birthday.
JUNE: Oh! What kind of things?
WARD: Well, in this box there’s a new baseball glove, and I picked him up a new shirt and some of those comic books he likes. That’s what’s in the bag.
JUNE: Oh…is that it? (June asks in a disappointed way)
WARD: Is that it? I think I did rather well. He’s getting quite a bit of stuff.
JUNE: Oh, you’re right dear. Those are all really nice things.
WARD: Then what did you…Oh…I see. This is about the dog.
JUNE: Ward he wanted one so…
WARD: June…
JUNE: Oh alright. But I don’t agree with you.
WARD: Yes dear. (Ward walks out of the room and puts Beaver’s gifts at the top of the coat closet and returns to the kitchen) So what are you preparing tonight?
JUNE: Spaghetti and salad.
WARD: Sounds good.
WALLY: (walks in the door from school) Hey mom, hi dad.
WARD AND JUNE: Hi Wally.
WALLY: Boy, something sure smells good.
WARD: Your mother’s making spaghetti.
WALLY: Oh. Beaver will sure be happy.
WARD: Why’s that?
WALLY: Well, Beaver thinks spaghetti is a fun food.
JUNE: A fun food?
WALLY: Yeah. Last time we were at Aunt Martha’s house, she made spaghetti, and Beaver kept slurpin’ up the noodles. After we finished eating he said “Boy, spaghetti sure is a fun food.”
JUNE: Beaver did that?
WALLY: Yeah. But he can’t help but be rude. He’s just a dumb kid.
JUNE: Yes, but slurping his noodles in front of Aunt Martha…why that’s just disgraceful.
WARD: Yes. But we cant do anything about that now. But if he tries it tonight I’ll make sure he finds out it’s disgraceful.
WALLY: Oh yeah I forgot to ask you guys…is it ok with you if Eddie comes over for ice cream and cake for Beaver’s birthday tomorrow night?
WARD: Well, I guess that will be ok, as long as it’s ok with Beaver. I think he’s having Larry over.
WALLY: Oh, he’s having Larry over?
WARD: Yes, why?
WALLY: Well I was just thinking…if Beaver’s having Larry over, there may not be enough cake left for Eddie.
JUNE: Now Wally.
WALLY: (laughs)
BEAVER: (Comes through the door) Hi mom, hi dad, hi Wally.
JUNE: Hi Beaver.
WALLY: Hey Beav, is it alright if Eddie has cake and ice cream with us tomorrow night?
BEAVER: Sure Wally.
WALLY: Great. Well, I’m going to go get started on my homework. (Leaves)
WARD: Ok, Wally. So Beaver, how was school today?
BEAVER: Great dad. Miss Landers even said that tomorrow we get to have a party.
JUNE: Oh really? For your birthday?
BEAVER: Yeah, for my birthday, but Angela Valentine’s birthday is Saturday, so it’s really a party for both of us.
JUNE: Well, that’s certainly nice of Miss Landers to have a party for you.
BEAVER: Yeah. Miss Landers is a real neat teacher. I like her just as much as Miss Canfield.
WARD: Well, that’s good Beaver, but you better go get started on your homework.
BEAVER: Yes sir. (Beaver grabs his books and leaves)
JUNE: I wonder if I should send some cookies with Beaver tomorrow for the party.
WARD: I think that’s a good idea.
JUNE: Ok then. I’ll make chocolate chip. That’s his favorite.
WARD: Well, that’s fine dear…as long as you save one for me.
JUNE: (smiles)

Scene 6 - Living Room
Ward, June, Wally, Beaver, Larry, and Eddie are all in the Living Room finishing up their cake and ice cream.

BEAVER: Boy that sure was a good cake mom.
LARRY: Yeah, it sure was Mrs. Cleaver.
JUNE: Why thank you.
WARD: Well, now that we’re all finished, why don’t you take these plates to the kitchen Wally?
WALLY: Sure dad.
EDDIE: (Walks over to June) I’ll take your plate Mrs. Cleaver. I’ll assist Wally with these dishes.
JUNE: Thank you Eddie.
WALLY: Yeah Eddie, thanks for your “assistance.” (Wally says sarcastically)
(Eddie and Wally go to the kitchen and return a few minutes later)
JUNE: Well now that everyone’s back in the room, what do you say you open your presents Beav?
BEAVER: Sounds good to me.
LARRY: Here Beav, open mine first.
BEAVER: Thanks Larry. (rips the present open) Oh boy! A neat fountain pen!
LARRY: Yeah. My mom wanted to get you one that cost a dollar, but I made her get you this two dollar one, because you’re my best pal.
BEAVER: Thanks a lot Larry.
EDDIE: Here Theodore, I purchased you a little something.
BEAVER: You did Eddie?
EDDIE: Well sure! You’re ok, for a kid.
BEAVER: (opens the gift) Neat! A book!
EDDIE: It’s a book about baseball. Wally told me you were thinking about playing little league pretty soon.
BEAVER: Yeah. Thanks Eddie!
WARD: Well, here are your gifts from your mother and me.
BEAVER: Wow! Thanks dad! (opens the first present) Swell! Comic books! (opens the next package) and a neat shirt. (opens the last package hoping it is something his dad has put in a box to give him a clue he’s got a dog. He opens the box with great anticipation, but his smile fades)…and a baseball glove. (unenthusiastically) Thanks dad.
JUNE: What’s the matter Beaver?
BEAVER: (sadly) Nothin.’ The presents are real neat. Thanks mom thanks dad.
WARD: (gets up and goes toward the kitchen)
JUNE: Ward? Where are you going?
WARD: Oh…um…just to get a glass of water. (ward leaves and returns with a large box, Beaver doesn’t see him)
WALLY: Boy, what’s that?!
BEAVER: (quickly turns around)
WARD: I don’t know how I could have overlooked this one. Here you go Beav. (goes and sits down by June, who is giving him a “what in the world are you up to” look)
BEAVER: What is it?
WALLY: Open it and see Beav!
BEAVER: (lifts the flaps on the box and a huge smile appears on his face) OH BOY!!!!!! (leans over the side of the box and pulls out a small brown scruffy looking puppy) A DOG! Oh boy! Thanks a lot dad!
WALLY: Wow! Let me see him Beav!
LARRY: Yeah, lemme see him too Beav!
BEAVER: (walks over to where Larry and Wally are sitting and shows them the puppy)
LARRY: Boy Beav, this sure is a swell dog.
WALLY: He sure is!
(June gives Ward a warm smile as if to say “thank you“, Ward smiles back, beaming at how happy he has made Beaver)
LARRY: Hey Beav, let’s take him outside and play with him!
BEAVER: Is it ok dad?
WARD: Sure, go ahead.
BEAVER: Boy thanks dad.
(The boys head toward the front door, but Beaver stops, hands his puppy to Wally and tells the other guys he’ll meet them outside)
WARD: Why didn’t you go outside, Beaver?
BEAVER: (walks over to Ward) Thanks a lot dad. (Leans over and kisses his dad’s cheek and gives his mom a big hug and kiss and goes outside)
JUNE: Well you certainly made his day.
WARD: Yeah.
JUNE: Thank you for doing it Ward.
WARD: Well, I got to thinking, and I didn’t want to disappoint him any more than you did.
JUNE: (smiles) You’re such a wonderful father. (Kisses Ward)

Scene 7-Boys Bedroom
Larry and Eddie have gone home, Wally and Beaver have taken the dog up to their room to play with him some more.

WALLY: Boy Beav. That sure was swell of dad, getting you this dog and everything.
BEAVER: Yeah, I’ll say it was. I really thought I wasn’t going to get a dog.
WALLY: Me too, dad seemed pretty definite about it.
BEAVER: Oh well, I’m just glad he changed his mind.
WALLY: Yeah.
(Ward and June enter the room)
WARD: So, you boys still playing with the puppy?
BEAVER: Yes sir! Boy dad, he sure is a neat dog. Thanks a lot.
WARD: Well, I was glad to do it Beav.
JUNE: (Watching her son play with his new dog) Beaver? You really love that dog, don’t you?
BEAVER: I sure do mom. He’s the neatest dog in the world!
WARD: Well, if you love him so much, don’t you think you ought to give him a name?
WALLY: Yeah Beav, what are you gonna name him?
BEAVER: Well, I’ve been thinking. (Holds up the puppy) See how he always has his tongue sticking out, and his mouth open? It looks like he’s smiling!
JUNE: (Looks closer) You know, he kind of does look like he’s smiling!
BEAVER: Yeah, so I was thinking I’d name him Happy!
WALLY: Happy?
(Ward looks at Wally, warning him not to make fun of the name)
WALLY: That’s a neat name Beav. (rubs his nose nervously)
JUNE: Happy! I think that’s just a wonderful name. (Walks over and picks happy up from Beaver’s bed) He’s so cute! Welcome to the family Happy!
BEAVER: (Pleased that his mother loves his puppy) Boy mom, I’m sure glad you like him.
JUNE: Well, of course I like him. He’s adorable. What makes you think I wouldn’t like him?
BEAVER: It’s just that, remember that mouse I brought home from the drug store? He was cute, but you sure didn’t like him.
(June smiles as Wally Beaver and Ward laugh)
WARD: Well, boy’s we’ll leave you alone now.
JUNE: Yes, and I think it’s time you boys and “Happy” got ready for bed.
BEAVER: Mom, can Happy sleep in my bed tonight?
JUNE: (Looks at Ward, who nods approvingly) Well, I suppose it’s alright for tonight, but just this once. After that he’ll have to sleep in his bed in the kitchen.
BEAVER: Thanks mom.
(June and Ward leave, Wally and Beaver get ready for bed)

Scene 8-Living Room
Two weeks have passed. The boys are in bed, Ward and June are reading the paper.
WARD: I sure am impressed with the way Beaver’s been taking care of Happy.
JUNE: I know! I haven’t had to remind him to feed him or anything.
WARD: Well, I’m just glad to see him showing some responsibility.
JUNE: Yes. I guess the Beaver is growing up.
WARD: That he is.
JUNE: You know, I’m almost as attached to Happy as Beaver is. He keeps me company while you’re at work and the boys are at school.
WARD: Well that’s good dear. But still, if Beaver begins neglecting his responsibilities, the dog has to go, so don’t get too attached.
JUNE: I know dear. But I don’t think we have anything to worry about.
WARD: I guess you’re right.

SCENE 9 -Kitchen
Beaver comes in from school accompanied by Larry Mondello.
JUNE: Well, Hello Larry.
LARRY: Hello Mrs. Cleaver.
JUNE: What are you boys up to this afternoon?
BEAVER: We ain’t up to nothing mom.
JUNE: Beaver, you AREN’T up to ANYTHING.
BEAVER: That’s what I said. Larry just came over to play with Happy for a while.
JUNE: Oh, well that’s fine. Why don’t you stay for supper Larry.
LARRY: Oh, thank you Mrs. Cleaver, and normally I would, but my mom is making meatloaf tonight and I sure don’t want to miss it.
JUNE: Oh I see. Well maybe some other time then.
LARRY: Yes ma’am.
BEAVER: We thought we’d take Happy out in the front yard and play fetch.
JUNE: Ok, but you be careful, you need to keep an eye on Happy. He’s still a puppy, he might run away or something.
BEAVER: We’ll be careful mom.

CUT TO FRONT YARD
BEAVER: (Throws a stick) Ok boy, go get the stick!
(Happy stays where he is)
BEAVER: Come on Happy! Get the stick.
LARRY: Maybe he’ll get it if I throw it.
BEAVER: Yeah.
LARRY: (Throws a stick) Come on Happy, go get it.
(Happy stays where he is)
LARRY: This is no fun Beav, your dog doesn’t know how to play fetch. Let’s go play ball or something.
BEAVER: Ok. I guess so.
(Just then a truck comes up the road. Happy sees it and runs after it into the street. Another car comes from the other way and runs over Happy)
BEAVER: HAPPY! NO! HAPPY!!!! (Beaver screams and runs to the street)
(June hears Beaver’s cry and runs outside to see what’s wrong. She opens the front door and sees Beaver on his knees in the street and runs to him)
JUNE: Beaver?
BEAVER: (Looks up at June, crying hard) Mom…Happy got runned over! (Gets up and runs to his mother)
JUNE: (Puts her arms around him, starting to cry a little too) Oh Beaver, I’m so sorry.
(June puts her arm around Beaver and leads him inside. Larry goes home. June calls Ward and lets him know what’s happened, Ward comes home.)

SCENE 10 - Living Room
Ward walks in the door, June meets him.
WARD: Hey. How’s he doing?
JUNE: He’s been in his room since it happened. I went up to check on him a few minutes ago and he was still crying.
WARD: Poor guy. He was doing so well taking care of Happy.
JUNE: I know. I hate this had to happen. I just feel so awful for him.
WARD: I do too. (Ward calls upstairs) “BEAVER!”
BEAVER: (Comes down the stairs, wiping his eyes)
WARD: Let’s go into the living room.
(They all go into the living room and sit on the sofa, Beaver sits in the middle)
WARD: I’m sorry about your puppy Beaver.
BEAVER: (Sitting next to June, laying his head on her arm, still crying) I couldn’t catch him.
WARD: It wasn’t your fault Beaver.
BEAVER: I still feel awful.
JUNE: (hugs Beaver and looks at Ward)
WARD: I know you do son. But these things happen. There was nothing you could have done.
BEAVER: (just nods his head, says nothing)
WARD: Listen Beaver, how would you like to go down to the pet store and pick out a new puppy?
JUNE: Would you like that Beaver?
BEAVER: No…no I don’t want another dog. Happy was the best dog a guy could ever have. I could never replace him.
WARD: Are you sure you wouldn’t like another dog Beaver? Or even a hamster or something?
BEAVER: No sir.
WARD: Well…ok then.
BEAVER: May I go back upstairs now?
JUNE: Certainly.
(Beaver goes back upstairs, Ward sits back and thinks)
JUNE: Ward, why don’t you go get him a new puppy anyway, and surprise him?
WARD: Well, I’d like to, but I’m not going to.
JUNE: Why not? I’m sure once he saw a new dog, he’d forget he didn’t want one.
WARD: I don’t think so. He seemed pretty sure of himself to me. No I think the best thing to do is to just let it be.
JUNE: I just hate to see him work so hard and end up with nothing.
WARD: I know, so do I. But I think there is something we can do for him.
JUNE: What?
WARD: Well, in a few days, if he isn’t feeling any better, we can take him out to dinner, just us and him, Wally would understand. We’d make a big fuss over him and take him to a movie afterwards.
JUNE: That’s a terrific idea.
WARD: I think we’ll just keep quiet until Friday, then tell him about it.

SCENE 11 - Living Room
Beaver comes in from school and finds Ward and June waiting for him.
BEAVER: Hi mom, hi dad, you’re home early.
WARD: That’s right.
BEAVER: How come?
WARD: How would you like to go out tonight?
BEAVER: Gee dad, that’d be neat. Where are we going.
WARD: Well your mother and I thought we’d take you to dinner and to a movie.
BEAVER: That’s swell dad. I’ll go tell Wally.
JUNE: No, Wally’s going to stay here. He already knows about it.
BEAVER: Why isn’t Wally going?
WARD: Because tonight is your night Beaver, we are going to spend some time with just you.
BEAVER: Just me? Really? Boy that’s neat.
JUNE: We thought we’d leave around six, you better get upstairs and get cleaned up.
BEAVER: Yes mom, I’ll be right down!

SCENE 12 - Kitchen
Ward, June and Beaver have just gotten home, Wally comes in to greet them.
WALLY: Hey Beav, did ya have a good time?
BEAVER: Boy, I sure did Wally. We even went to see “The Ape Man from Africa”. I thought all mom and dad went to was mushy movies.
WALLY: Yeah, like the time they dragged us to see “An Affair to Remember” last year.
(Ward and June look at each other and smile)
(Wally and Beaver decide to go to bed)
BEAVER: Good night mom, good night dad. Thanks for the fun night out. I had fun.
JUNE: You’re welcome Beaver.
WARD: We’re glad you enjoyed yourself.
(Wally and Beaver exit)
JUNE: He seems to be feeling much better now Ward. I’m glad you came up with this idea.
WARD: I’m just glad it worked.
JUNE: You’re such a kind understanding father.
WARD: Well…
JUNE: And your not such a bad husband either.
(Ward and June smile and hug, ending the episode)

THE END
BBF

Don't think I'm a horrible person for letting happy die. I'm just trying to make it true to life. This stuff happens. It happened to me when I was about 9 to my dog Pip, so I hope you don't think any less of me!
I'll post the other one in a few days!

Thanks yall. The next one is much better, IMO. That's why I saved it for last. I'll give you a clue as to what it's about...It's my idea of what could have happened when Beaver was born...now I'll leave you with the suspense! :D

I've never read a fanfic before but that was really good. But I was so sad when happy died! I liked the LITB phrases: "I'm all heart" "Sam" "neat". I can't wait for the next one. I think it will be very interesting...i'm always trying to imagine what would have come before LITB and what would come next (never having seen the New Leave it to Beaver). Great job!:read:
ps
I like all these little smiley faces.
