View Full Version : It's Friday, It's 9 o'clock, Where's "Ed?"
Okay, can someone tell me why NBC pre-empted "Ed" tonight, the night it was supposed to premiere in it's new timeslot?
TJL's getting angry!

That's what I thought happened. I switched over at 9pm and it wasn't on. I just thought I got the dates mixed up or something. Looks like NBC doesn't care about this show anymore. I'll be surprised if it gets renewed for fall. Moving the show to Friday nights is the kiss of death.

It's supposed to be on tonight at 9. I'll probably watch.
Personally, I have really lost interest in this show this past season. The only reasons I watch are for Mike, Molly, Nancy, Diane, Mark, Eli, and Dr. Jerome. I never could stand Carol or Phil. Warren has gone from being funny to just plain pathetic. Frankie is as bad as that Kelly Ripa character (and I thought no one could get more annoying than her). Ed and Mike rarely seem to hang out together anymore. They hardly seem to be in court anymore. The quirky humor has been replaced by melodrama and "Will they or won't they?" plotlines.
I really wouldn't be surprised if NBC pulls the plug this season. I still think it's better than a lot of the crap that's on now, but it's definitely not the great show it was the first season.

You have some good points. I think Sabrina Lloyd is doing a great job, but I doubt she'll be around much longer.
I was in a bar a few weekends ago (big shocker) and I met Timothy Busfield, who plays Ed's brother on occasion, and is a Producer on the show.
I had a few beers in me, so I told him I loved the show, but they really have to lighten things up. The whole "will they or won't they" thing is really tired. He agreed, and the general concensus among all the "Ed" folks is they are trying to bring more fun back into the show.
He seemed really pleased about the show moving to Friday, so that might mean Ed is sticking around for another season.
