As a HUGE "I Love Lucy" fan, I have almost all the "I Love Lucy's" on tape and most of the Comedy Hours. How about the rest of you

I almost have all the I Love Lucy episodes I only need 1 more and I have all of Lucy Desi Comedy Hour 13 of them. I Love Lucy is one of my favorite shows I have been watching it for a very long time and have seen every episode too.

I own every ILL episode (some 2 or 3 times), and all but 1 LDCH- #12.

::turns various shades of green at dawsongirl's comment:: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif I wish I had them all recorded, I've been watching for as long as I can remember, but haven't had the presence of mind to save the episodes because I thought it would always be on TV (stupid me), but now that N@N is pulling it and I don't have TVLAND, I am desperately trying to record all of the episodes before it's too late.

I bought the LA and Europe trips and the first 12 Lucy-Desi Comedy Hours (the 13th I received from Nick-at-Nite). I taped all of the Connecticut epsisodes. I also have the Christmas episodes. I received that as a gift one year.

I also have a lot of 'behind the scenes' of ILL that I bought years ago.

Roz, I'm the same way as you. I only started watching ILL recently, but I always thought it would be on N@N. Fortunately, when I started really loving it, I started taping it (I have some Hollywood episodes, most of Europe, all Florida and all Connecticut episodes). N@N began their run again recently, and I have been able to tape all of the shows in order. By the time N@N ends the ILL run, I should have all of the episodes on tape, thank goodness!

I am a huge of Lucille Ball as well as Vivian Vance. I love Lucille's comedy so much (especially in her later shows).

As for Lucy on tape, I just about have every single Lucy episode on tape, all I need to get is about 40 episodes that I'm missing (of Here's Lucy) and then I will have the entire Lucy collection (I Love Lucy, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, and Life With Lucy). I am hoping to finish my Lucy collection this summer.

You have all the Life w/ Lucy's? Wow.

dawsongirl - you're only missing the Robert Cummings / Japan episode? You have Lucy Meets the Moustance, which is impossible to get, and you don't have the Japan episode! I'm so suprised.

By the way, I'm very impressed with your ILL knowledge and your willingness to always help people out. As far as the smiles legend goes, let me try it now. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You know, I'm not sure how that happened. One day a while back, I was going through my collection and realized I didn't have it. I would have sworn I did. By then it wasn't on TV anymore. Go figure.

BTW- Thanks for the complements. It's nice to talk with others who have a lot of Lucy knowledge! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

dawsongirl - I read that during episode #12 of the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, Lucy and Desi's problems were so bad that they were beginning to affect even the show's crew. It was a good episode and I can't believe you have every ILL plus the LDCH shows.

you not only impress me with your knowledge of the show, but I can tell you're also very smart. Did you used to stay up to watch ILL when it was on at 1:00AM. Do you watch itnow at 4:00AM?

I forgot - - http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

From the time the spring semester let out and the time my summer class started (6 weeks to be exact) I DID stay up and watch, but my class is at 11am, so there is NO WAY I can stay up until 3 (central). If I did I'd never get up in the morning!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think (note that think http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif ) the tension started in #11. Desi took over as director of the last three, so he was directing, producing, etc. Plus, unfortunately, drinking too much. But the quality of the episodes shows how professional they all were!

Terry Ross

Actually, during the Milton Berle LDCH there were many problems and Desi refused to allow a studio audience in on that show. I believe Milton was #10. That was the only show without a studio audience.

dawsongirl - - - are you name after that game show host?

Those jerks at NAN moved Lucy to 4:00AM. I used to watch her at 5:00AM when I got up to go to work. They're doing everything possible to make it hard to watch this show. ILL is on all night on Monday nights now and it looks as if they are picking the best of the crop . . . at least juding by last week's line-up. What do you think? Did you watch? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/confused.gif

Yep, I'm, "named" after Richard Dawson, host of Family Feud. Good guess! Usually people think Dawson's Creek. I don't even like that show!

Anyway, NO! I didn't watch. I was busy that night, but I did see the eps. they were supposed to show and they looked good. I'll have to watch this Monday. After all, it's our only chance anymore!

OK, I give up, dawsongirl. What's with Richard Dawson (and you can ignore the same question that I asked you under my LUCY'S MOVING TO TV LAND bulletin board.

A Family Feud Fan?

dawsongirl
07-15-2001, 02:11 AM
Yes sir, I'm a Big Fan of Family Feud!! It and Match Game are my two favorite game shows and Richard's my favorite host/panelist/actor/comedian, etc.

My TV obsessions include ILL (well, anything Lucy), those two game shows, Adam-12, and Hogan's Heroes. Just a little insight into my personality that you probably didn't want to know anyway http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Is "Family Feud" even on anymore? What ever happened to Richard Dawson? What did he used to say? And the scoreboard says?......I used to watch it.

And what are you doing up at 2:30 in the morning? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/sleep2.gif

My favorites: ILL, Honeymooners, Mary Tyler Moore and, {more current}, "Survivor" and "Fear Factor". http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/talk.gif

SURVEY SAYS!

That's what he used to say.

The old feud is on Game Show Network, there's a new version with Louie Anderson on now, but IMHO, it stinks!!!!!

I'm not sure what Richard's up to these days. Retirement in Beverly Hills. That sounds nice!

And it was only 1:30am here! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/dizzy.gif

Terry Ross

That's it!!! And the survey says! Yep, I remember it well. He kissed every female that was ever on his show.

Along with other noted networks, I can't get the Game Show Network, either.

Pretty funny, dawsongirl. I was watching the "Brady Bunch" that night, too. It was Marcia night and I was desperate for somethingto watch. Only Davy Jones had all of the trivia pieces. 32 times! At first I was annoyed by the cartoon balloons of trivia but then I became amused. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/rotflmao.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif

I just found you on the "Here's Lucy" site. I liked that show because her real children were on it. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/happyface.gif

I saw you at the other board and posted. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Oh, reading through the posts we done here, Richard said "Survey Said" more than "Survey Says." My oversight.

I'm hungry, so off to the kitchen I go. Until next time...

dawsongirl . . . what in the heck are you doing up at 2:41AM? And having a snack? Why are you logging on so late? Just getting in?

Back here in the east, I'm http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/sleep.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/sleep2.gif

I get up at 5:00AM to commute into NY so when I'm up even at 11:00PM, that's late.

dawsongirl

Remember, it's only 1:41am here (not that it's that big of a difference.) 1st, I'm a night owl, 2nd, Saturday night is my only night to stay up really late. Since I usually don't get a chance to log on during the day (except for today) I do it then.

Today I stayed home watching corny TV movies from the 70s.

Yep, I commute into NYC everyday. It takes me one hour and 35 minutes one way. I work at a television network and track viewership. I write a lot.

dawsongirl
08-08-2001, 02:59 PM
Eek. And I thought my half hour commute to school was bad. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek.gif Hope you have a nice comfy car, good air conditioning (I saw it was supposed to be like 98 in NY today, it's 94 here), a good radio, and a cup holder. I don't have a cup holder.

So that's how you know all the ratings. Very interesting. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

What kind of stuff do you write? That's my newest aspiration: to write. I want to write fiction novels. I should have majored in English from day one since I've always liked writing, but I was one of those people that goes to college half-blind.

I mostly write about who is watching the broadcast networks although I do venture over to the top rated cable networks when relevant.

No, I don't drive in. I actually park my car at a park and ride, take the bus or train into Manhattan, and then get on a subway.

Last Thursday, it reached 105 degrees in Central Park. It was the worst heat I have ever experienced. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Dumb question, but are the subways like the subways people ride on TV? All dark, dank, and graffiti covered?

105 huh? YUCK! How many people did they have to scoop off the sidewalk?

Terry Ross
08-12-2001, 07:40 PM
It's not a dumb question. The subways are hot, hot, hot. Probably 120 degrees in the summertime. Not too much grafitti anymore. The trains are clean and if you see any grafitti, it's on the walls. But not much anymore. The police have really cracked down on that. I'm in the Times Square station, which is one of the biggest and most confusing. A tourist could get lost and die of all age without ever being found in there. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/dizzy.gif

Noting could be worse than the NY subways.....especially in the summertime. The platforms are about 130 degrees. Thankfully the cars are air conditioned. But England has to be better. It just has to be. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/grineyes.gif
