Autograph values?

So, my family was discussing I Love Lucy (no they aren't that said, just talking about the tour http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif) and my mother remembered that she has Desi's autograph cira 1950-ish.

Any idea how much something like this might be worth? She actually has a whole autograph book with a few celebs (donald o'conner, patti paige, etc).

Any tips on where I can send her to get an appraisal?

Well, this isn't an actual appraisal by any means, but you could compare with the autographs on ebay. You could see what they're going for and kind of give yourself a rough estimate.

That's crazy, I was just wondering yesterday how much their autographs would go for now and I came here and you've started a thread on it! I can only imagine how much a Lucy/Desi autograph would go for, I'm on my way over to Ebay now to check it out.

(PS-did your mom actually meet Desi to get that autograph? If so, how was he in real life? Nice? Fill us in!)

In an antique magazine, they said that if the whole cast autographed a photo, and it was in MINT condition, it would be worth about $1,600. I'd guess that your pic is worth a good $500, mainly because he is the most famous of the cast. It has to be in mint be be worth really anything though.

I think it was one of those things where his orchestra was performing at a club and she went and joined in with a crowd of fans and got her book signed.

As for it's condition, it'd be mint. Well as mint as a 40+ year old autograph book is that's been kept at the bottom of a jewelry box all those years.

Did some net searching and the average is about $150 it seems. But I wonder how much the whole book is worth, with various other celebs included...

I looked on Ebay and it looks like all the *starting* prices for a Lucille Ball signature are around $179 or so.
