watching President Bush is like watching paint dry.
i swear he only ever talks when Friends is suppose to be on. He probably does that cos he knows thats where he can get the most viewers.
blah blah blah
I'm confused, am i watching Joe Millionaire or President Bush? Oh wait, I'm watching I'm a celebrity get me outta here
Did you ever see the episode of I Love Lucy where Ethel is singing and Fred,Ricky and Lucy are walking around behind her with stuff. Like Fred is carrying plants and Ricky is a man eating tiger and Lucy is holding them up with her teeth? I think it would be great if someone did that to him.
I miss Bill Clinton, when u watched him, you felt like you were watching "R U HOT" cos you could look around in the room he was in and rate the people he was dating
well thats my useless thoughts of today. any comments?

It's not so much Bush, it's just that I hate the news.....
I'll tell ya, this has nothing to do with my opinion of him in general: he is an astoundingly boring speaker. His meter is so phony. He puts emphasis on every 8 words or so and looks all serious like he's making some dramatic point. It doesn't matter what it is that he's saying. He just does this act that says, 'I'm your Daddy, and I really, really care about you. I am here to protect you." It's an act that is tough to watch.

Actually, I'd rather watch paint dry. I'm not too fond of President Bush.
I've seen that episode & I thought it was hilarious! And yeah, that would be a good idea to have someone do that to him. At least it would give the audience something to look at! :rotflmao:

Yep, he always talks when Friends is supposed to be on. But it ended up being a rerun so I guess that's ok but that doesn't make up for the fact that Bush is extremely boring.

Yeah I was watching him till, thankfully, my mother ordered me to help her shovel. I don't think she's ever seen me skip out the door faster...
I think that even though Clinton was a liar, he was a much more engaging speaker. And I'd rather have a liar/good speaker than an idiot/bad speaker. No World Leaders were ever powerful speakers, save for Hitler. But we don't want him mentioned anymore...

Well Clinton is a liar and an idiot among other things, but most presidental speeches are boring, but if its a serious issue people will watch. I support Bush, but I don't agree with him on everything, I will wait and see what happens with Iraq to see if my opinions change of him or not, but if we leave Iraq alone and they have weapons of mass distruction, which I think they do, then what will happen happen if they used them on us and other countries and we didn't do anything about it when we had the chance, then think what will happen? And now I'm staying out of this to avoid argument.

I remember during his cam-PAIN 2 1/2 years ago, he had those stupid ads on t.v. and I swear he did NOT project confidence. You couldn't believe him, it just sounded so phony. He reminded me of that befuddled look that Johnny Carson had whenever he told a joke on the tonight show. Gee, is war and the suspension of American liberties the only way he can show he's a man of substance?

It's not the fact that he's on every channel, I want to be informed and see what he has 'planned' to do, but it's like when every reporter was asking him a different question, he repeat himself.....over and over and over again. Iraq is a threat. I'm going to protect my Americans. We can solve relations with North Korea diplomaticaly. And so on and so forth. At least answer the question and don't stray off into your usual answers.

What if all of the weapons are destroyed and we don't believe him so send military forces into Iraq killing every single person. Then we do a search through the country and there is no evidence of weapons being harboured anywhere? Then what? Do we just say "Well at least us Americans are still here" ?

Well first of all, we arn't going to kill innocent people in Iraq for the heck of it,unfortunatly if we go to war some innocent people will be killed, but I also remember when Clinton sent troops to Kosovo, there were many innocent people killed there, which was sad,but we arn't going to go there and blow up who ever we please, we will be going to go after Saddam, now if Saddam would just disarm like he is supposed to there would be no reason for a war, and we know he has some missles because they showed them on tv, now how many he has I have know Idea.
If Iraq proves they destroyed all of there weapons, then we move on and I think Bush would do that, then we concentrate on the next big threat North Korea. I think Al queda took a big hit, after that guy got arrested, but they are also still a problem, the world is getting worse and worse without getting any better its sad but true. I hope thats what you were looking for, there could be somethings I said but didn't come out exactaly right so I hope you know what I'm getting at.

The problem is that they have no proof that the weapons have been destroyed, and they're not owning up to what that they have. Cooperation isn't happening. :(

This might be a good time to mention what a few posters here said a month or two ago... "why are we going after Iraq?" "Why aren't we going after Al Queda and Bin Laden?" Well, as we saw last weekend (with the #3 Al Queda terrorist being captured and in custody), we ARE still going after Al Queda. It might surprise some, but the U.S. can do more than one thing at a time! (Especially when we have a real president in office.)

But we have to bomb the whole f'ing country of Iraq to get this other guy, who has nothing to do with Al Qeada?

I agree with that, I didn't state that like I wanted to, but yes the U.S. can do more than one thing at a time and we are. I'm so happy we have a real president running this country and not a joke like Clinton. I for one want Bush as president in 2004!

I missed his speech, but whenever he does make a TV appearance for a live speech I watch for a while. I like him and think he is doing a good job. People complain because he needs to make a decision-- well, he's not picking what tie to wear to the dance- his decisions are more important than that and SHOULD be thought of carefully. If we went to war and lost everyone would be pissed @ him for making us go to war and if we didnt go to war and this thing was dragged out for years people would be pissed! Theres no pleasing some people.

I don't think President Bush is the most eloquent orator, but he doesn't bore me. Not once during last night's press conference was I bored.

Nothing to do with your statement...well..sorta. Anyway...If we're so intent on liberating the people of Iraq that Saddam has oppresed for years, why don't we look around for a bit?
Hmmm, Turkey does the exact same thing to the Kurds and kills even more than Iraq does. Interesting, and we're giving them 26 Billion Dollars why?
Saudi Arabia, our supposed "ally" gave $500 Million to Al-Qaeda, there is no evidence that Iraq gave them a single cent and I'm not going to believe there is a link until I get some evidence beside our "leader's" opinion.
Another thing that bugs me, we're allies with Israel AND Pakistan, does that make any sense at all?!?!?!

I'm not saying it's false. I'm just saying that there are other countries that are doing worse and if our only goal is to liberate the people, then maybe we should focus out attention elsewhere. I'm not saying that Saddam is not an evil, cruel dictator and that his people have not suffered, I'm just saying that it's kinda strange how we go about things that we support one country that kills more people and another that represses everyone there, yet we hate another country for doing that, but less.

THAT'S ONE REASON WHY POLITICS DOESN'T BELONG IN CHURCH.
Sermons shouldn't have to be divisive, either pro or con about Bush. If some dumb-ass preacher is gonna gloat about how some people are walking out who can't deal with his sermon, then he needs to go back to scrubbing toilets or something to learn a little bit about the Christian virtue of humility.

I don't believe at all that if you're black and you vote Republican that you're a "race-traitor". You vote with your conscience. What if you're black but you don't like some policies championed by Democrats, or if you like some things Republicans support? Politics in race and religion have all gotten so out of hand. the u.s. didn't take the oil in 91 cuz they didn't know how much they would be useing in 10 years. lots of new technology has come about and it uses more prower so needs more fuel.

If we did not want them 12 years ago, why would we want them now? Besides there are several oil companies (Sunoco, for instance), that does not import any oil from Iraq. They get most of theirs from the North Sea area.

What? Did you read what you just posted! If you think the U.S. would go into another country and take over any country's oil fields (which has never happened), you must not think much of the U.S.
And, if the U.S. did that, there would be worldwide condemnation (including England).

He scares me too. And he IS disregarding American opinion. The latest polls show that 59% of Americans think the US should have UN approval before taking action against Iraq yet Bush says we will go to war with or without UN support.
The more he mentioned 9/11 during his speech, the more angry I got. Did we learn nothing from this tragedy? Terrorists hate us, whether justified or not, partly because of our actions in that part of the world. And they don't need weapons of mass destruction to harm us. How does going after Saddam Hussein change any of that? It doesn't. The terrorists would have attacked us even if Saddam and Iraq did not exist. No doubt an attack on Iraq will cause more people to turn to a life of terrorism. I am truly scared of that prospect. And the way to fight terrorism is as a united front where our allies and the UN act as one.
Don't get me wrong. Saddam is a terrible, dangerous person whose treatment of his people is deplorable and he needs to be dealt with, but using 9/11 as a reason to justify an attack really upsets me.
