- “Jimmy Kimmel” Continues to Beat CBS’ Established “Craig Kilborn” in Adults 18-34 And Ties “David Letterman” During the Week among Men 18-34

In its third week on the air, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (12:05-1:05 a.m.) drew an average audience of 1.82 million viewers for the week of February 10, 2003. The show was up from its premiere week delivery (1.75 million) and approached its strong delivery on the previous week, which was boosted by the net’s extraordinary primetime numbers on Thursday of that week with coverage of Michael Jackson (2.01 million). Among Adults 18-34, the program was up 14% (0.8 vs. 0.7) from its premiere week and held
100% of its Week 2 audience in that demographic.
· “Jimmy Kimmel Live” continues to have its biggest impact on CBS’s late-night programming. Head-to-head from 12:30-1:00 a.m., “Kimmel” beat CBS’ “Craig Kilborn” by 14% in Adults 18-34 (0.8 vs. 0.7), by 33% in Men 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.6) and by 80% among Men 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.5).
· Head-to-head (12:00-12:30 p.m.), in its core demographic of Men 18-34, “Kimmel” tied CBS’ “David Letterman” during the week (1.0) and finished within two tenths of rating point of
“Letterman” in Adults 18-34 (0.9 vs. 1.1). “Jimmy Kimmel” has built its Men 18-34 delivery in the half-hour against “Letterman” and “Leno” on all three weeks (0.7 to 0.8 to 1.0).
· Compared to “Politically Incorrect” on the same week a year-ago (week of 2/11/02) in their common half-hour (12:00-12:30 a.m.), “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is on par with “P.I.” in Total Viewers (2.10 million vs. 2.19 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.9), while topping the former time period occupant by 29% in Adults 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.7) and by 43% in Men 18-34 (1.0 vs. 0.7).
