I found out that there is an age limit of 24 on American Idol. I think it's ridiculous that they want to find the best singer in the country, but that they have to be a child to do it. What if you're 30 and awesome, but they won't let you walk in the door.

I read recently that someone filed a lawsuit against the show because of age discrimination. I wish I had been there first, because I would have done it. I'm 27 and not a bad singer. Granted, I'd be the first to admit that I wouldn't make the final round, but I still should have had a chance.

Anyone else have thoughts?

I agree with you! You should be able to enter at any age!

I definetely agree. Anyone should be able to enter at any age. And, why would people who are over 24 not be able to get in to sing? Doesn't a person's voice get stronger after singing a long time? Listen to Cher and Tina Turner. They are strong-voiced singers and they're not in that age group. Celine Dion is another singer with a strong voice, as well. And, what's with that title, American Idol? Like, everyone's going to look upto them and call the singers on that show that have the best voices their idol? Yeah right.

I think that labels want to work with younger artists, FOX also wants to target a younger audience- thus putting young people on the show.
