Oh, no. Don't get me started. I've always been trying to prove that it's The Professor and Mary Ann. It says it in the song "The Professor and Mary-Ann". And doesn't anyone remember that ep with the Eye of the idol. "Three to get ready" or something like that. And the Professor didn't want to go and was really stubborn, so who was the first person to say she wasn't going if he wasn't going? Mary Ann!!! That means she was worried and cared about him. And he thought she was the most beautifull when they were having the beauty contest.

Oy vei time to drag out my tried & true theory of love on the island....ho boy.

Mary Ann had a little crush on both Gilligan and the Professor at first. She thought she liked Gilligan more until the Howells tried to force it. Then she realized how much she liked the Professor.
Now the Professor liked Ginger as a friend, and I think she knew that too, but she liked him. Then she realized he really loved Mary Ann. She was jealous at first but then she realized that she couldn't do anything about it.

So all in all, the Professor loves Mary Ann. Case Closed!

Well i would definatly say ginger and Profesor and Mary ann and Gilligan i think its soooooooo cute when there sinking on the raft cause of all the gold when ginger is sitting on the profesor's lap they look so cute together ! and mary ann and gilligan always look cute together cause there both full of enegy

Well, I guess that there are ways that Mary Ann and Gilligan are alike, but then again, that doesn't always work. I think the Professor is having trouble with his emotions so it doesn't seem that obvious, but sometimes he lets out. Look at the last quote in my signature! He called her the most beautiful lady in the world! And he said she's sweet and warm! In that same episode he called her 'dear' three times! If that doesn't show affection I don't know what does. And I think that Mary Ann loved the Professor but that she was afraid he didn't like her, so she didn't show it. I also think she liked Gilligan but not as much as she liked the Professor, and she knew that Gilligan liked her so she was comfortable showing it. But I still think (and will probably think forever) that the Professor and Mary Ann were the best couple!

PS did anyone read "The TV book?" It had an interview with Dawn Wells!!

That doesn't mean anything. Gilligan obviously has a warm spot in his heart for Mary-Ann, he's just too shy to really let it show. Remember, Ginger was always too forward and it scared Gilligan. The Professor only protected Mary-Ann because she was next to him, and besides, he's a gentleman. He'd have protected Ginger if she was there, simply BECAUSE he was a gentleman. He only did that because, remember, Mary-Ann, except for Gilligan, was the youngest on the island, and he only protected her like he was his daughter. And as for him voting her as the most beautiful girl on the island, let's face it she was, inside and out. Ginger was too self-centered to REALLY be beautiful. And alright so Ginger has a great figure. SO WHAT?! That does NOT make HER the most beautiful. Now, granted, she is pretty, but her being so me-oriented stops her from being "beautiful". Face it. OK, the Professor and Mary Ann are by far the two most suited for each other, but they're also both the shyest, so it's never really apparant. But he's always very tender towards her, calls her "Dear" many times. Ginger tries hard, but never gets any reaction from him.

As far as Ginger goes, she's got a fan club of her own consisting of the Skipper and Mr. Howell. She's cool, but Mary Ann's the one that has the Professor's heart!
