I only seen the edited version of the All In th Family episode-"The Jeffersons Move Up" and I wanted to know if Archie appeared in that episode before the Jeffersons left Queens to move to Manhattan. I only remember seeing Edith in the kitchen with Louise. If someone knows please let me know.

Nope,Archie wasn't in the episode, but they edit out the part where George breaks a plate or glass and says We're Movin' On Up, From Now On Cups And Saucers Forever!!! I have not seen the unedited episode in a long time, but Nick at Nite and TV Land have deleted that portion of the show for some unknown reason!!! I wonder if Columbia House Video has that episode in their collection!!!

Yeah I remember seeing that part-maybe it was on a local station. George breaks a cup and hands weezy a box. Thanks for responding.

This episode belongs in the Jeffersons syndicated package (even though it originally aired as an AITF episode), since Edith appears only briefly and most of the scenes are at the Jeffersons new apartment with the cast of that show. By comparison, the Maude pilot takes place mostly at Maude's home but Archie and Edith have a significant part in the plot so that should stay as an AITF episode.

Jon today I watched the pilot episode of the Jeffersons and the first Jeffersons episode and I was thinking the same thing, that the AITF episode should be apart of the Jefferson syndicated package. But it's one reason it can't, and that's because in the opening credits, Louise has on a red coat, and in the pilot epsode she has on a blue coat which would confuse future viewers of the Jeffersons if Louise has a red coat on inside cab and a blue coat when she walks in the door.

I agree with you that the Jeffersons pilot should appear in the Jeffersons syndication package!!! Most definitely, it makes a lot of sense, because it shows them moving into their apartment, and meeting Mr. Bentley for the first time!!! I know that in the episode where the Jeffersons give Lionel and Jenny an engagement party on AITF that the Willises' were played by two different people and we get to see Franklin and Roxie for the first time on the pilot!!! I agree with you all 100 percent!!!

You are missing the point, it can't happen because the opening credits does not match the beginning of the pilot. Louise is wearing two different colors-She's wearing red in the cab, and sky blue in the pilot episode before she leaves Queens.

I just double checked-and Louise wears the Blue coat in the beginning of the pilot episode and the beginning of the 1st Jeffersons episode. Where is the red coat?

Maybe George and Louise had a drink in the back of the limo and George spilled his drink on Louise so she had to change coats.
