Definitely! Solomon, i've read most of your posts in regard to WBK, & have to wonder, why do you bother with it, if you find so much fault with the show? You are of course entitled to your own opinion as we all are, but i can't stand when someone puts down a program i like. How anyone could find anything wrong with such an awesome show like WBK, is beyond me. It's class, through & through. So, it gets a bit silly at times, or Gabe does a few scenes in his apartment. I think the series is a thousand times better than ANY current sitcoms. It is a comedy, therefore it's bound to get silly, at times. AND it's other legion of devoted fans would agree, i'm sure. Also, i haven't any doubt that WBK will soon get a much deserved VHS/DVD release. I'm sure you've got your favourite shows like we all do. Perhaps you don't get it. The jokes, the humor. But for those of us who remember it, & watch the reruns, it's a different era, & the show brings back some incredibly good & warm memories, & never fails to make us chuckle & wish we were back in 1975 :-). Just ignore SOLOMON, he intentionally likes to get under peoples skin. WBK has a chance to go to DVD just as much as Good Times.

I'm all for an animated version of WBK -- maybe even WBK Babies.
Anybody with me?

One post, asking for a these tapes, would have been enough.

Well, I think it's well worth putting in a video collection. The series is in mine, along with a lot of other happy 70's shows.

I liked tv when it was cute and funny and not about mindless boinking and x-treme reality crud.

Hi, Detective Griffin! It's refreshing to see yet another fan of the series, singing it's praises :-). I've been taped the episodes off the box, but was wondering if anyone knows whether or not Columbia House is possibly making any plans to release some volumes of the series. It has with Barney Miller, so if BM is out in VHS, then it can only be a matter of time before it's issued in DVD. WBK is certainly popular enough to hold it's own. So, i guess we just wait! As for Speedracer, there was no reply button next to your post, so my reply to you will be included in this one. If you've got TV Land, WBK is currently airing weekends on it. You can record them as they are shown. Hope this helps! Cassie

Kotter was one of my favorite shows growing up and still is. I have most of the shows on tape in varying quality. If a DVD series came out, yes, I would buy it without hesitation. It brings back alot of good memories. It`s nice to see others also think highly of the show.

Yes, Scott! You're in good company. There's alot of us who love the show. Just a tip. I know it costs a bit more, but SP Mode will preserve the quality for years to come. I know many folks who use extended play, so's to fit more episodes, & it is also more economic, but i ONLY use SP Mode, & in case you don't use it when recording the show, it is your best bet. It's better to get 5 episodes (barring commercials), at SP Mode, than to get 12/13 episodes at EP Mode, with poor quality. I only mention this because you said that the quality for you varies episode to episode. Good to see you out here! Cassie

This is a wonderful show, I won all the eps off of ebay last year. I'm so happy! :) Epstein is my favorite. My Favorite episodes are:

Sweathog, Nebraska Style
A Novel Idea
The Goodbye Guy
The Museum
Epsteins Madonna
Barbarino's Boo Boo

You better believe i'll be getting it when it comes out on
DVD. :)

I used to use EP but I`ll never do it again. SP is much better, like watching it on TV. Luckily, I have about half the shows on SP. Hopefully, eventually, I`ll have them all on SP, or better yet, DVD!!

Katie, i'm in total agreement with you about Epstein. He's my favorite, too! Dunno why, but Travolta don't do it for me. He's a great, down to earth guy, but physically, i gotta go with Juan :P! I am still anxiously awaiting the series to go to DVD! I'd also checked to see if Gabe's films: Nobody's Perfekt, & Fast Break, are on DVD, yet, & unfortunately of this post, not as yet. Scott, glad to hear you're using SP, too! Don't worry, you'll get the entire series! It'll be sooner than later, with any luck, providing TV Land doesn't mess about with their schedules again. I was really silly not to record the WBK marathon that was on last year. I'm sooo... happy that TV Land is showing it again. Myself, i've tried to bid on ebay. I signed up & everything. Then after i finish completing the form, they decide they'll make it difficult to ask for your credit card number. Needless to say, that was the end of that, because i never applied for one. I guess i'm better off sticking to the Amazon.com z shops :-). Cassie

Epsteins my fav, too!
I love silly people.
Im all for a season by season dvd release, but I really dont care for those columbia house tapes -- they charge and incredible amount for only a few eps.
my friends all bought the original kung fu series - very expensive, and then they stopped releasing them. cringe. i hate spending money. :)

Yeah, they did that with Laverne and Shirley, I'm missing a bunch of episodes. They didn't do them season by season. When that comes out on DVD, i'll get it as well.

I liked all the charactors, but Epstein was also my favorite. He had a comic "flair". Has anyone else seen Bob Hegyes website? Before Kotter, he was almost cast as Chico for Chico And The Man.

Oh yeah, I remember reading that. I love his website, especially when he updates it with new pictures and stories about show business and his family.

I love his site, Scott! Nicely put together. I hadn't known about his almost being cast as Chico, on CATM. It's so ironic, the fact that he's not actually hispanic, yet is able to portray those parts to perfection. He's a marvel :-). Thanks, Scott dahling, for the tip! Cassie

He really is a marvel, The more I read about him, the more I like him, he's a nice guy too. I sent a little note to him and his family around thanksgiving wishing them a happy one and he sent me an email back saying "Thanks, Same to you sweety." It was the coolest thing. I signed up for the Fan Club a couple years ago, so I get newsletters whenever he does an update, as well as a new picture.
