Can you think of any careers that were jump-started because of a certain TV or movie role?
The two that come to my mind are:
John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. After making a huge entrance with Saturday Night Fever, he seemed destined for a lifetime of Look Who's Talking movies, then along came Pulp Fiction which jumpstarted his career like nothing I can remember.
He's an A-List actor again, which is great because I always liked John Travolta and never quite got why his career faltered.
I'll bet Quentin Tarantino is on his Christmas card list.
Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights. Just when everyone had him for dead careerwise, along came the role as a porn director in Boogie Nights. This role earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. I haven't seen him in much lately, so I don't know if this qualifies as an official comeback, but it did resurrect his career, albeit briefly.
