-- "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" will run for 18 hours across 15 consecutive nights beginning Wednesday, February 19. The series features a group celebrities
- model Tyson Beckford;
sassy TV host “Downtown” Julie Brown;
former Olympic champion Bruce Jenner;
"Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous'" Robin Leach;
fashion critic-of-the-stars Melissa Rivers;
actress Alana Stewart (former wife of rocker Rod Stewart and actor George Hamilton);
and Howard Stern’s infamous radio cohort, Stuttering John
as well as an eighth member to be named at a later date -
all stranded on a tropical island and forced through all sorts of stunts in the name of winning money for charity. Viewers will participate in each episode in two ways: by voting which celebrity they want put through "dares" (all which presumably will paint them in a poor light) and which ones they want to continue on with the show. Standup comic/improv performer John Lehr will be the host.

-- Also debuting during the sweep period will be Mike Fleiss' "Are You Hot: The Search for America's Sexiest People." The series will take an "American Idol" approach to scouring the country to find the (you guessed it) sexiest people in America. The series begins its six-week run on February 13 where it will air Thursdays at 9:00/8:00c.

-- ABC also announced it is going forward with a series version of its popular reality special "Extreme Makeover." The series will take over the Thursday, 9:00/8:00c slot shortly after "Are You Hot" wraps on April 3. Like "Hot," the series has a six episode order.

-- Finally, the Alphabet network has committed to 13 hours of the reality series "All American Girl." According to ABC's press release: "The series features a dramatic weekly elimination process to produce the single most talented girl who has demonstrated excellence in a vast array of disciplines that include athletic ability, mental agility, performance in the popular arts and, of course, beauty. The home viewing audience will determine which girls advance into the final rounds and, ultimately, who will win the title of 'All American Girl 2003.'" "Girl" will debut with a two-hour episode on Wednesday, March 12 beginning at 9:00/8:00c. The 11 additional installments will air at 10:00/9:00c starting the following week.

-- ABC has announced the third edition of its hit series "The Bachelor" will debut March 26 in its usual 9:00/8:00c time slot.

America is getting a wee bit too obsessed with "reality" shows. (I use the word reality loosely)

'I'm a Celebrity.....Get Me Out of Here' started life in the UK on ITV. It aired over here for 2 weeks at the end of August 2002. It was truly the UK TV highlight fo the year and made most end-of-year TV polls voted for by the public.
The celebs who took part in our 'I'm a Celebrity.....' were (naturally) all British - there was Scottish comedian Rhona Cameron, politicians wife Christine Hamilton, model Nell McAndrew, boxer Nigel Benn, singer Darren Day, DJ Tony Blackburn, it-girl Tara Palmer-Tompkinson and all-round nutter Uri Geller. It was a total TV highlight - one of the coolest shows ever! None of the celebs got on with one another and there was loads of fighting and b!tching. If your version is anywhere near as explosive as ours then you guys are in for a treat.
I totally recommed that you see where the whole idea for the show began and get yourselves a copy of our 'I'm a Celebrity.....' It's available on video and DVD in the UK - get it online. See where the whole idea began - even if you've never heard of the celebs who took part it's still great TV!

It's only for 15 straight days, after that it's gone.
