Well, today my local station did something that TV Land did not have the courage to do, air the infamous episode 53, "Herman's Peace Offensive." After viewing the episode, I still saw nothing wrong with it, to cause it to be unaired by TV Land.
As has been mentioned, the story deals with both Herman and Eddie facing bullies at work and school, respectively. Both, abhor violence, but when pushed too far, resort to fighting back. However both get carried away with their new found courage and become bullies, themselves, and realize that fighting is not the answer. That is the show's inherent message, that violence never solves anything. Yes, Eddie and Herman both said they were going to kill and massacre the ones picking on them, Eddie is seen hitting a kid, and Lily hits Herman, but still, the message says hitting is wrong. I am grateful that the programming director at my local station agreed with me, and aired this episode.
