View Full Version : Cleveland Browns & Cleveland Indians

These 2 teams are pretty sad. Yeah i know the Browns might be making the playoffs this yr but their offense still stinks & i think Tim Couch stinks. The Browns aren't really gonna win anything until we get rid of him. I'm tired of him throwing interceptions yr after yr & i'm tired of them losing at home. We're 2-5 at home & 6-2 on the road. What's wrong with that picture? We should be good at home as well. We play Atlanta this sunday at home so hopefully we should win that one but knowing Cleveland they'll find a way to screw it up & lose. I can't believe we lost to Indianapolis at home a few weeks ago when we had a 16-0 lead at halftime & lost 28-23. The Browns have won a lot of games this yr by luck such as the hail mary in Jacksonville & we came back at the end to beat Baltimore last week. I don't even wanna talk about the Cleveland Indians cause they really suck. It's bad enough we let Kenny Lofton, Manny Ramirez, Sandy & Roberto Alomar, Jim Thome go. While we're at it why don't we trade everybody on our team so we won't have no team. I'm not a baseball fan anyway but we had a destiny when we had Albert Belle, Kenny Lofton, Eddie Murray, Manny, Sandy Alomar, Carlos Baerga in the 90's. We had a chance to beat Florida & Atlanta in the world series & lost both times. What a shame, i just shake my head at both of those series we could've won. We also let David Justice go & he won a world series ring with the Yankees when we cut him loose. Every time a player leaves Cleveland, it doesn't matter if it's basketball, football, or baseball, they leave here & go somewhere else & win a championship. It never fails. Look at Earnest Byner, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, David Justice, Bernie Kosar. Bernie got a ring with Dallas Cowboys as a backup quarterback one yr even though he didn't deserve it.

I meant to say the Indians had a dynasty in the 90's. The Browns ended up moving out of Cleveland back in 97 i think & went to Baltimore as the Ravens & won a superbowl 2 yrs ago. We couldn't win a superbowl here but Art Modell's greedy a## goes to Baltimore & gets it done. I see why they call my city the mistake on the lake cause it seems like my city is cursed when it comes to winning a championship.

And Boston said that they were cursed.;)

I don't think any city is more cursed in the football area than Detroit, so I know how you feel.

Cleveland's sports teams are really bad. I have no clue what the Indians are doing, the Cavs just plain stink and the Browns are not a good team.
Also Chicago has a really pathetic sports year. The Cubs and White Sox have had a lot of trouble, the Bulls have to many young players and they're not organized, the Bears have had a really bad season thanks to their quarterbacks and such, and the Blackhawks are the lone bright spot with a winning record.

The Browns are a sad football team, they had a 24-7 lead at the half & lost 36-33. There is no hope for Cleveland sports at all to win any championships ever. Kelly Holcombe had a excellent game at quarterback throwing for 382 yards & 3 td's. Deion Sanders said after the game Tim Couch good luck hahahahahahahahahaha. He thinks Kelly is gonna take Tim's job. I think Kelly will take his job cause if Tim would've been out there, the Browns would've been getting blown out.

Maybe the Browns would win at home if the home crowd didn't boo them. That's just really low, and one of the handful of reasons why most Brown's fans turn me off.

I don't blame the Browns fans for booing them, they play terrible at home. Their record at home this yr was 2-6. I know Atlanta was one of the teams they beat at home, i forgot who was the other team they beat. I don't think the fans should've thrown bottles on the field 2 yrs ago for that bad call the refs made in that Jacksonville game. They really boo Tim Couch the most at home cause he's a terrible quarterback. I hope Kelly Holcombe is the starter next yr. The Browns also should've kept Ty Detmer, he was a better quarterback than Couch too.

Tim Couch has definitely not lived up to being the #1 pick in the draft a few years ago.

Well you may not fault the Cleveland fans, but I still do. It's boorish and childish. I've been to a few Bengals games, and they suck more than the Browns, and I don't hear people booing there.
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Cleveland fans actually cheer in one of the earlier games when Couch got injured? If my memory serves as correct, then that's just disgusting.

I think you're right. I vaguely remember that myself.

Yeah the fans did cheer when he got hurt hahahahahahahahaha. I can't stand Tim Couch, he's the worst quarterback i've ever seen. At least Bernie Kosar was better than him & Bernie sucked back in the day too for Cleveland. I can't stand a quarterback who is afraid to run with the ball. Both of these guys are afraid to run or should i say Bernie was afraid to run. The Browns record at home this season was 3-5, my bad. That's still terrible.

I forgot to say Eddie Murray of the Cleveland Indians & Baltimore Orioles was elected into the hall of fame, he deserves it. He's a assistant coach with the Indians now.

I look at it as players should play to their strengths. If you're Vick or McNabb or McNair, etc. then sure go ahead and run. But Rich Gannon basically never runs, do you not like him just because of that? Of course I guess Gannon had some decent running backs in the game, which Cleveland doesn't really have, but I think they will soon if Green stays with them.
I still think it's low to laugh/cheer at a player's injuries though. I like OSU but still I hated to see McGahee's knee get bent over backwards like that. I know it's just all part of the game, but it's not cool to cheer.

Cleveland Cavs fired John Lucas the head coach. He's going to be replaced by assistant coach Keith Smart. Keith ain't gonna turn the Cavs around either. John Lucas was a good guy, it's unfortunate his team doesn't wanna play defense & he gets the boot. I get tired of management firing coaches like that's the answer. It's the players fault why they lose games, u can't blame it all on the coach. John stressed defense but the players are too lazy to play defense. The Cavs got good ballplayers but we're never gonna win anything until we play defense & start learning how to take good shots cause the Cavs shot selection is terrible. The players shoot way too many outside shots & we don't have a inside game. I wish the Cavs would've never traded Andre Miller for Darius Miles cause he's playing like a b###h this yr.

I'm sure the Cavs want to lose as many games as possible so they can get Lebron James in the draft.
isiahthomas
01-22-2003, 03:14 PM
Yeah they do talk about him like he's god, like if the Cavs draft him, he's gonna save their franchise & turn them into a winning team. Yeah right LOL. Did ya'll see Lebron's hummer his mother bought him? I haven't seen it but i heard he got 2 tv's in there & a playstation. What does he need all that for in a car? Black athletes are so damn dumb buying all that stuff for their car just so they can show it off & then the next thing u know, somebody has ended up robbing them for their car. I hope Lebron doesn't turn out to be a bust in the NBA cause i know he's not going to college.
Brian Damage

I don't know if he'll be a bust, but look at the other high school players who went straight to the NBA. Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Jermaine O'Neal, Omare Stoutmire. They all turned out pretty well.

I do get tired of people saying high school basketball players won't make it in the pros. All those people u named are all stars now. Shawn Kemp was a star with Seattle in his earlier yrs before he turned into a bum & he came straight out of high school. So did Moses Malone & Darryl Dawkins. Amare Stoudemire is gonna win rookie of the yr. At first i thought Dajuan Wagner of Cleveland was gonna win it when he was scoring all those points earlier this yr but now his scoring has slumped. He still leads all rookies in scoring. He scored 100 points once in a high school game i heard.

All those former High Schoolplayers never had the hype of Lebron James. He just might be the real deal.
isiahthomas
01-23-2003, 10:24 AM
Rashard Lewis of Seattle Sonics also came straight out of high school & he's the 2nd leading scorer on the team behind Payton. Jonathan Bender & Al Harrington of Indiana Pacers also came straight out of high school & they are both very good. But then u do have high school players in the NBA right now who aren't consistent like Eddy Curry & Tyson Chandler of the Bulls & Kwame Brown of the Washington Wizards.

Lebron James just said today that he refuses to play for the Cavs if they draft him.

Lebron said that? LOL

Yeah, apparently he was upset that the Cavs fired John Lucas.
isiahthomas
01-27-2003, 11:38 AM
I can see why Lebron would wanna play for Lucas cause Lucas had Lebron practice with the Cavs last summer & Lucas wasn't supposed to let a high school player practice with professional athletes. The NBA league office found out about it & suspended Lucas for a few games when the season started this yr.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas got voted as a reserve for the east all star team. I think Ricky Davis of Cleveland should've got voted as a reserve instead of Zydrunas but hey at least somebody from Cleveland got voted as a reserve so i'm happy.

Cleveland beat the Nets last night 93-90 hahahahahahahaha in Cleveland. Kenyon Martin didn't play for the Nets. If he would've played, the Nets would've won.

Tyrone Hill was waived by Cleveland today. Some playoff team will pick him up. I wouldn't be surprised if Philly got him again. He's still a good rebounder & defender. He's just ugly as hell LOL.

I remember when Tyrone Hill was preparing for the draft and he made a little self-promotional video- or it was an ESPN thing:
He was dressed all nice in a suit and there was classical music or something in the background. He had a tea cup and saucer and held it up and said properly as possible,
"and now, it's T time"
It was pretty amusing at the time.
He is kinda scary looking.
