who has your hometown team (or favorite team) recently gotten either through trades or picked up as free agents?

Who have we gotten? NOBODY

Who have we lost? PLENTY

Tom Glavine
Mike Remlinger
Chris Hammonds (soon)

And there is many more to come. Unfortunately, they resigned Javy Lopez...ugh!

Anywhoo, the thing that gets me is we're loosing players to NY teams-that's disgusting. Maddux may very well leave too...

Perhaps a rebuilding year is in store?

We lost Ramiro Mendoza and Mike Stanton

We got Chris Hammond and possibly Todd Zeile.

There are rumors of the Yankees possibly getting Bartolo Colon from the Expos and Hideki Matsui from Japan, but we'll see.

I'm not suprised about Mendoza, but Stanton? I'm a tad suprised there...

Welp, Jermey Giambi may not be Jason Giambi, but I think he's worth something.....

We signed Jim Thome and David Bell.
The managers are still saying we need a starting pitcher.
They just traded Jeremy Giambi for a minor league pitcher. (NOT what we need.)

I think you guys down in Atlanta did alright for yourselves.

You might have lost Glavine and Hammonds, but you got Mike Hampton, Russ Ortiz, Paul Byrd and resigned Remlinger.

Red Sox signed Daimen Jackson as a utility player, and the Cuba pitcher everyone wants has just become a free agent...but when everything is said and done the Sox should hopefully have a strong 3rd pitcher outta this

The Yanks just signed Hideki Matsui from Japan.

yup, which I think is sorta a good thing, cuz now we (as in Boston ;) ) has more leeway (sp) for signing one of those pitchers like Colon or whoever, and now there isnt the outfield issue...but yah

We, as in the Braves, are seriously rebuilding this off season. Our pitching staff is not what it was last year. Actually, it barely even resembles it.

I'm looking forward to the beginning of the season to see how things shape up.

...It could be scary though. The Mets and Phillies each have one of our starters from last year!

NOW,
We traded Johnny Estrada for Kevin Millwood.
And we lost Doug Glanville, Marlon Anderson, and Travis Lee. (Not that that's a problem ;))

That was such a weird trade! Why in the world would Atlanta trade Kevin Millwood for practically nothing?!?(And to a rival to boot!)

You've got a pretty good pitcher in Mendoza. However, one of his biggest problems here in NY was that he was very fragile.

The Yankees just completed a 3 way trade with the White Sox and the Expos.

The Yankees traded Orlando Hernandez to Chicago for Antonio Osuna and a minor leaguer. The White Sox then traded Hernandez to Montreal for Bartolo Colon.

I think Colon should have gone to maybe someplace better than the Sox...I'm not saying their bad but Colon deserves to be with a contending team. He's one of the best out there.

okay that was really mean of the yankees, they knew the sox were in the hunt for colon...:o but oh well cant get them all

George may not admit it, but he does sometimes make trades to make sure his rivals don't get that player. I respect that in a weird way.

Yep, a jerky genuis...he's a jerk about it all and it's really 'irky' that he has all this money and can pull all these strings in order to get what he wants. However, ya gotta admire the fact he tries to assemble a winning ball club, no matter what he takes.

...I wonder if he's a good chess player?
