I haven't heard anything about it, but I doubt it is true. I can't believe Dawn, a key, is going to be the next slayer.

I hope it's not true, because... well, I just don't much care for Dawn. I don't think she should have such a pivitol role in the show. It's not like she's Buffy's true sister. But if you think about it, there is a possibility. After all, Buffy's job was to protect the key with her life. Maybe there was supposed to be more of a purpose behind that than just stopping Glory. Maybe she was supposed to keep Dawn alive so she could become the next slayer. Just my 2 cents.
By the way, love the pic in your siggy Jay!

Wait that actually happens with the Willow casting a locator spell. I read that on a spoiler website and it said it was confirmed so you may be right about Dawn being a slayer. But Dawn isn't even human shes a key how can she be a slayer? That is kind of weird.
BTW it has been confirmed that Buffy ends this season. Sarah, Alyson, and Emma want out of the show. Also this Tuesday is a new episode of Buffy, hope everyone watches it.

I guess your spoilers are correct. I went to TV Tome and they have this listed for the upcoming episodes.
(supposedly) airing Jan. 7
In a attempt to build an army, the gang decide that it's time to locate every last remaining potential slayer. Buffy and Xander locate and retrieve two more, but there are many more to find. Buffy discovers where Spike is being held and rescues him, but the Turok-Han and 'The First' chase them back to Buffy's house. Willow performs a spell to keep them out, but someone in the house isn't who they appear to be...
(supposedly) airing Jan. 14
Willow performs a locator spell to try and find more potential slayers, but to her surprise, the spell locates Dawn. Buffy and Spike plan to 'take out the smaller fish' by killing all the harbingers. Meanwhile, Giles has travelled to Shanghai to collect yet another potential slayer.
Spoilers for tomarrows episode:
With Spike missing, the gang try to cope and clear the damage done to the Summer's home. Gile arrives with three potential slayers. He reveals that 'The First Evil' is killing off the line of slayers in an attempt to rid the world of good, leaving The Hellmouth free to open. He tells Buffy that there are more potential slayers on their way to Sunnydale. Buffy and Giles search the christmas tree lot, Buffy goes underground and is challenged by a very strong vampire who is luckily scared off by the sunrise. Giles confirms that he was a Turok-Han, a vampire which vampires fear. After one of the other slayers gets killed trying to escape, Buffy comes across the Turok-Han once again, it beats Buffy within an inch of her life and remains unharmed.
Later on at the Summer's home, Buffy declares that she isn't going down without a fight, and neither is anyone else. Bring on the night!
So what does everyone think about Dawn as a slayer?

In regard to the Jan. 7 episode, supposedly the person who is not who they seem to be is Giles, but I am not 100% sure, because I have not looked at the spoilers, except what for what was posted on the msn board. But some people there are saying its Giles...
And that Turok-Han guy is basically an uber-vamp.. or so thats what i call him.
I don't think they should make Dawn a slayer. Just because I feel she don't have the heart or the brains that make a good slayer. JMO

From what I've read of the spoilers on spolierslayer.com (http://www.spoilerslayer.com) , it is Giles...
