Darn! It wasn't a great show, but it sure beats the heck out of reality shows.

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - ABC drama "Dinotopia" has gone extinct.
The dinosaur thriller, from miniseries maven Robert Halmi Sr., will depart the airwaves after its final airing Dec. 26. ABC originally ordered 13 episodes but reduced that order to six after "Dinotopia" bowed to disappointing numbers.
The axing of "Dinotopia" comes a week after ABC halted production on another rookie drama, "MDs." ABC now has officially pulled the plug on all four of its fall dramas ("Push, Nevada," "That Was Then," "MDs" and "Dinotopia").
"Dinotopia" was based on last season's ABC miniseries of the same name, which performed well enough to convince network executives to give the series version a try in primetime.
Viewers, however, must have gotten their fill of the concept -- set in a lost world where humans and dinosaurs live peacefully together -- last May.
"Dinotopia" also suffered from a tough time slot, Thursdays at 8 p.m. ABC premiered two episodes back-to-back on Thanksgiving night, attracting just 5.7 million viewers. It slid to 4.2 million viewers last Thursday, landing in sixth place.
ABC will air college football's Orange Bowl the following Thursday, Jan. 2. After that, it will stunt with movies at 8 p.m., and plans to revamp Thursday with reality shows in the longer run.
