I don't know if I ever saw a episode mentioning that Rollo was in jail at one time but I seem to notice that Fred always mentions that Rollo just got out of jail. I just need to know how did the insults about Rollo being a jailbird and a crook begin? I'm trying to figure out if I missed something in the first couple appearances of Nathaniel Taylor on the show.

I don't think Rollo was a for-real thug, per se, but he did have questionable methods for accquiring goods and services, so, naturaly, Fred assumed he was a crook. (and, really, your parents NEVER like your friends, anyway!);)

Well I just always thought it was mentioned that Rollo did jail time which would caused Fred to constantly bring up the jail jokes.

Hmmm...I don't think it was ever mentioned on the show that Rollo did jail time, discounting, of course the episodes where he, Lamont and Fred actually DO go to jail...

I just have to say that W.J. Griffin's answer really made me laugh....."a for-real thug", but you are right there was never an episode where Rollo was ever in jail, but because of how Fred thought of him, made him a jail bird.
Yes, sometimes parents don't like who we hang out with. Maybe it's a first impression thing or something:):):):)
