At 8 p.m., "8 Simple Rules..." 8.6/14, and "According to Jim," 9.3/14, put ABC on top. "8 Simple Rules" has bought "According to Jim" to life ratings wise.

#3 Frasier (NBC) 9.2/14
#4 8 Simple Rules (ABC) 8.6/14
#5 The Guardian (CBS) 8.5/13
#6 NYPD Blue (ABC) 8.3/14
#7 Evening with the Dixie Chicks (NBC) 7.4/12
#8 Dateline (NBC) 6.9/11
CBS was on top with a 8.3/13, ABC a close second with a 7.9/12, NBC third thanks to no In-Laws and Just Shoot Me which are killing them, a 7.4/12 and FOX got 5.3/8.

ABC won the night with a 4.9, FOX was second with a 4.4, NB third with a 3.9 and CBS was fourth with a 2.7

“According to Jim” (8:30-9:00 p.m.)
“According to Jim” won its time period, delivering the series’ largest audience ever (14.6 million) and highest Adult 18-49 rating ever (6.1/17). The Jim Belushi comedy towered over the second-place finisher, NBC’s “An Evening with the Dixie Chicks” (11.3 million & 3.8/10), by 3.3 million viewers and by 61% in the key adult demo. “According to Jim” stood as Tuesday night’s most-watched and top-ranked Adults 18-49 program.

• “According to Jim” delivered ABC’s strongest rating in the half-hour in over 1-1/2 years – since 3/20/01.

• By 1.7 million viewers, “According to Jim” built on its “8 Simple Rules” lead-in for the first time ever among Total Viewers (14.6 million vs. 12.9 million). “Jim” also built by a best-yet 30% on its lead-in among Adults 18-49 (6.1/17 vs. 4.7/14).

The Christmas episode was hilarious. The neighbour used to play Jimmy James on News Radio. The funniest moment was seeing Jim being pushed out the window with a toilet plunger.
