I've noticed that the opening music isn't always played. Tonight, for example, and I've noticed it before. Anyone know the deal with this?

It's almost like they play it when they feel like it.

I dunno why...I like the opener but it seems like they've only played it once...I bet CBS just wants to air more commercials..

I hope this isn't the start of a new trend. I like watching a show's opener. It psyches me up for the show in a sense. I tape all my shows to watch them commercial free, and when I'm watching them, I never fast forward past the opening credits.
Does anyone know if other shows do this?

Well, we know Seinfeld did it.;) But the truth is, a lot of shows nowadays do not have big openings that they once did. I guess it packs a few more seconds of show and commercials.

You're right Brian. In the beginning of Seinfeld, we were treated to a mini stand-up bit by Jerry.
Did they abandon the opening credits altogether during its original run on Seinfeld? My memory only goes as far back as what I had for breakfast this morning, and even that's a challenge sometimes. ;) j/k
