Cousin Oliver - The Brady Bunch

Ricky - Partridge Family

Jenny - One Day At A Time (Thank God they took her off after one season)

Nick and Alex Handris - One Day At A Time (I wish they would have took Alex with Nick when he was written off except I would not want the child killed with his father was the way Nick was written off)

Phyllis new co-workers (Phyllis was funny during the first season when she was working at the photo studio)

The Hollywood cast of the New Dick Van Dyke Show during the third season

Martin and Olivia Kendall - The Cosby Show

Sam McKinney - Differn't Strokes

Rebecca Howe - Cheers

Although I love "NewsRadio", Jon Lovitz taking over for Phil Hartman just wasn't good.

Simka being added to "Taxi"

I didn't like the addition of Col. Potter on "M*A*S*H".

I THINK THEY HAD TO ADD SOMEONE TO THE SHOW FRANK COULD NOT RUN THE CAMP WITHOUT RESPECT SO POTTER WAS BORN.

I hated Andy on Family Ties, whenever they add a cute littlekid on a show, it's a terrible result.

Rebecca Howe On Cheers, no one could replace Shelley

I think these are some of the worst cast additions:
Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch
Rhonda Lee from Laverne & Shirley
2nd Lionel played by Damon Evans from The Jeffersons
Lana from Three's Company
2nd Harriet Winslow from Family Matters

I agree 100% about the 2nd lionel, boy was he dorky. imo he was the number one worst addition to a sitcom of all time.

:faint:

I say that because Richard Dawson was part of that cast. I've never actually seen any episodes.

My least favorite cast additions were Rose, Jeffrey, and Serena Burton in the last two seasons of The Waltons (1979-1981). Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch was nothing in comparison!

(Dis)Honorable mention goes to anyone added to The Wonder Years during the last two seasons (1991-1993, when Kevin and his friends entered high school). Oh, and who can forget Olivia on The Cosby Show or Lily on Step By Step?

Adding Col. Potter to MASH changed some of the dynamics of the show; Potter was more on the ball as a leader than Blake was, and became a father figure to the cast.

I don't think anybody has mentioned the addition of little Chrissy Seaver, who experienced the biggest growth spurt in Sitcom history - aging six years in just two seasons!

Amazing!

That's McGinely right? I don't like the man's acting, but I just love reading about him on jumptheshark.com. Those people can come up with some of the craziest things about him. lol

I agree about Oliver and Chrissy and have a few more:

Judy and Ace on the Love Boat

Frank Lorenzo on All in the Family (an unlikely show to have such a stereotyped character).

Paul Lynde's character in the second season of Tempartures Rising.

I don't know why everyone thinks that Oliver ruined The Brady Bunch. His acting was good and he was only on the last six episodes. I don't believe his addition was the reason the show was cancelled. Everyone was getting older anyway.

Roseanne: Well, Dan. We have two, count 'em two daughters in college.

Dan: Boy are we gonna have some explaining to do at the next white trash luncheon.

Any child added to any adult sitcom.

All In The Family (Joey and Stephanie)
Mad About You

That's all that comes to mind now.

Murphy Brown

Coach (I'm told, never saw the last few baby seasons)

Friends

Sex and The City is on thin ice if they focus too much on Miranda's baby.

Six Feet Under got carried away with Nate's baby. I hope the kid's out of sight next season.

I don't dislike children. I just don't think there's a place for them in adult shows. If I wanted to watch kids, I'd watch family shows.
Everybody Loves Raymond does a good job at staying an adult sitcom despite having children.

These are my picks:

Howard Sprague on The Andy Griffith Show
Rhonda Lee on Laverne & Shirley.
Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch.
Flip (Roger's brother) on Happy Days
The "2nd" Lionel Jefferson on The Jeffersons
Ashley (Fonzie's steady girlfriend during later seasons) on Happy Days and her daughter.

Monore - Too Close for Comfort. Too obnoxious and that voice was so nerve grating.

Janet Craig (June Lockhart) - Petticoat Junction. She did not fit and the show should had ended after Bea Benaderet's passing. Her death left a huge hole in the show.

Cousin Oliver - The Brady Bunch. I watched the episode last night when he joined the family and it was awful. The show was obviously on its way out.
