A few mornings ago I caught an episode of the 80s TZ. It was the episode about the guy getting fortune cookies and they kept predicting his future until it predicted his own death. The second part of the episode involved aliens coming down to earth and they are about to end everything. The humans convince the aliens to give them one more chance. The humans create world peace, but the aliens wanted the humans to go to war instead. That episode was pretty good. I had caught another episode numerous months ago about this guy having some kind of mark on his forehead and that made people avoid him. I thought that episode wasn't very good, but I was just sitting here wondering if anybody else liked the 80s TZ.

The only 80's episode I even remember was one about this woman who is abused by her husband. She gets this dog figurine, I think someone gives it to her as a gift and when her husband is abusing her the dog comes to life to protect her. That's all I remember about it. Those 80's eps didn't really keep my interest.

When I watch the new "Twilight Zone" or new "Outer Limits," I'm disappointed 95% of the time. Why they can't get good writers and execute some quality control is beyond me.

I have several favorite episodes from the 1980s version of the twilight zone.
one episode involved a woman that finds a locket in the garden and when she says shut up every one freezes. After she says talk everyone unfreezes. The backdrop to the story is that there is a series of nuclear arms talks going on and when they break down war begins. The lady says freezes and time freezes. However, she knows if she unfreezes time nuclear holocaust will happen.
Another episode involved a woman who uses a special credit card. However when she fails to make payments she loses her children, husband, pets and then her life.

Those eps sound kind of cool.

I, also, thought the episode Nightcrawlers from 1980s Twilight Zone was excellent as well. Nightcrawlers started out at an all nightcafe. a cop comes in and informs the diner of a terrible series of murders in the area. Then a family comes to diner and so does a troubled Vietnam veteran. The Vietnam Veteran's war experiences are then brought to reality causing a major firefight at the diner. As I remeber the cop is killed and the others just make out of the diner. Over all of then best epsiodes of the 1980s Twilight Zone

When I worked the early shift at work, I'd often tune into TNT and see if they were airing any shows at 5:30 a.m. One that I remember was "Cat and Mouse" where a shy woman who never dated suddenly finds a black cat in her home. The cat mysteriously turns into a gorgeous man and dates her, and her spirits are lifted. When she leaves to go to work in the daytime, he turns back into a cat after she leaves, and sneaks into other women's houses, turns into a cat, and carries on a relationship with all of them when he turns back into a man in their presence!! When she finds this out, she waits until he turns into a cat again, then traps him, and brings him to the vet to be "fixed!" Long live women's lib!! It really is a good episode.
Another poignant one I remember is a story that begins in modern times where a man is trying to get a loan to save his farm from foreclosure. The bank denies him the loan, and somehow he goes back in time (like the 1800's), and meets the original owner of the farm. He becomes friends with the owner, but unfortunately the area they live in is loaded with bandits that steal, and one day they arrive at the house to rob them. The owner had all this gold stashed that he got during the California gold rush, and gives it to the man, and the owner screams "Just run!!" Just as the bandits are about to shoot the man as they see him, a "window" opens up and he runs back into modern times, and in the end he's able to use the gold to pay off his debts. Nice, sweet ending.
