Don't know where you heard that from. It will be 30 years until the next time we can see it really good, not 100. It should be a good one though :)

Yep, on Channel One today, they said it starts at about 5:30, so 3:30 am my time. Early!!!

Well I heard it at school this morning on Channel One that the next time it will be this clear will be in 2099. Will anyone still be at these boards then?!?!? lol ;)

I'm gonna stay up and watch it. My mom thought I was crazy, but oh well. I just hope I don't run across any bugs on the front porch. I'd hate to wake up the whole neighborhood........

Excuses, excuses. lol Look at my location. Colorado is in MST. EST is two hours ahead of MST. 5:30 is two hours ahead of 3:30, right? I said it comes on at 3:30 for me. So if you put two and two together, ya get..............that. :lol: ;)

Oh come on! It can't be EST cause it's not on the East Coast, i can't be PST cause it's not on the West coast, and it can't be CST...........well just cause it can't. lol Colorado has MOUNTIANS, hence the timezone that it's located in, MST (Mountains Standard Time.) So there's your little history lesson for today. :p

I stopped staying up for these things a while ago. I would always stay up or wake up for "the best meteor storm in years" and see like 1 or 2 if I was lucky. Once I fell asleep outside and it was like 40 something degrees.

I got outside about 5 in the morning and stayed out til about 5:30. I would've stayed out longer, but I was seriously freezing my ass off. The showers happen so quickly, so even if you look away for a few minutes- you'll miss some. I kept pulling my hood over my head and praying nothing would fall on my head or face. I did catch a few bright showers. It literally took my breath away to see them shooting across the sky. Sometimes I had to wait a few minutes to see another one, but it made up for it whenever I saw a really bright one.

I didn't see it (bummer) but I heard that the moon was too bright so no one here was able to see it. :p So I don't feel as bad now.
