I think Alley MacBeal should be added to the Dramas and Dramedies section.

It has very rich and genuine comedy to it, and I believe the series merits it's own board.

Besides, where else can I discuss that funny old judge, Happy Boyle?

I liked the first few seasons of Ally. If TJ did add an Ally board, I would prob. post over there.

I think if they added a crap section you'd be first in line for a show sucking as much as humanly possible.

Cheers.

I'd post on an Ally McBeal board. The show took a serious nosedive the last season and 1/2 maybe, but all in all, it had a good run. It was funny, offbeat and touching at times. I loved Vonda Shepard's music. I have her Christmas CD. It's great.

Ah, I agree. It did take a nosedive the last season and half. The last really good episode was where Billy died. I'm sorry, but when half of the original cast leaves- don't you think it's time to pull the plug?

I've got the first two Ally cds.

Yeah, the show went out limping. I respect shows more when they go out on top or somewhere near the top....instead of like a performer getting yanked offstage by an umbrella.
Robert Downey Jr. breathed new life into the show for a while, but we all know how that turned out. :(
Still, Ally McBeal was a favorite of mine for a few years. It was a clever and unique show, and based in my Boston home as an added bonus.

Robert did add some life into the show. It was when they added Jenny (the young Ally clone) and the Ally's kid that just made it jump the shark imo. Who were the regulars (from season 1 and 2) that stayed with the show into the end? Ally, Richard, Elaine, Nelle isn't that all of them?

I missed season one, so I can't say for sure. John aka the Biscuit? Billy and Georgia?....Renee? I thought Nelle came later, could be wrong...Ling came later for sure.
I've answered none of your questions--only posed more of them. Sorry. :)

Let me see if I can figure this out. I'm not sure if some came back later on, but I can try to name them.

Billy died, but he did make some ghost appearances
Ling left
Renee left and didn't come back to my knowledge
Nelle stayed
Ally stayed
John cut back on his appearances
Georgia left and didn't come back to my knowledge
Elaine stayed
Vonda left, I think
Richard stayed

It seems like I'm missing somebody though. Hmmm

I thoroughly disagree.

The show was funny, endearing, and last years Christmas episode was something i would own and watch every Christmas.

John Cage was also part of the back bone of the show. He was one of the main reasons I watched it. And though the show did slump near the end, I would hardly call it a nose dive.

Eventually every series runs out of material. Every series.

I truly think that if their were an Ally board, people would post there.

John Cage was the back bone of the show. I haven't seen him in anything since he left the show. I loved him in the 'Bean' movie. Anybody seen it?

I haven't seen him in Bean, but I see him a lot of old movies with that babyface. He was just hilarious on Ally. They should have paired them up in the finale.

That would've made a great final episode. Ally and John would've made a perfect couple. John and Nelle were a good couple, but Nelle kind of turned into a bitch towards the later years. Nelle was an ice queen even during the first couple of years she was on, but yet the viewers knew she did have a heart of gold. I have no idea what happened during the years she broke up with John. Look at how she broke up with John.

Hey! Maybe they'll use that as a reunion. Give it about 10 or 5 years and they might do a reunion movie or something and get John and Ally together then.

Sure, every series runs out of material, but many shows make it past 5 years.
Here's an article for anyone interested.

Thanks for posting the link to the article Janice. I love Calista's shoes in that pic! I could never wear them though. I'm a tad bit on the klutzy side. lol
