View Full Version : How was Aunt Rachel written out of the show?

I used to be a fan of Family Matters and I can't remember how Aunt Rachel was written out of the show. Does someone know or was she just pulled off the show like little Judy?

She was pulled, like Judy. Although in the last season she was seen for the x-mas episode and we find out that she moved to Detriot for some reason.

Her mistake was agreeing to do Getting By full time. She would have reamained on FM had Getting By not been around.

Getting By was another short-lived sitccom? I never heard of that show.

It was part of TGIF friday night's after step by step as a midseason replacement and then was picked up by NBC for the fall. I was truly disappointed. I did tape eps during the first run. It airs or aired on Goodlife TV recently.

So was Rachel the main charcter?

Cindy Williams and Telma Hopkins were the main characters. Cindy's Credit came first, then Telma's.

Rachel just vanished... no explanation given. She returned fairly often in the last two seasons(and even some in the 94 and 95 season), but they were brief appearances. It felt bizarre how she left Richie with the Winslows.
