I haven't gotten a first car yet but I hope it's the same as my sister's car, I think she has a erm...a um...okay well it's a car and its...I think it's blue. Well I'm helpful today, aren't I?! LOL A Kia? If that's a car then that's what she has!! I thought of it!! *Bows*
My first car was a slightly used 1978 Chevrolet Camaro.

My first car was a 94' pontiac sunbird, two door. I just got it last december and a guy I knew from school slammed into me and totalled it. So, it was wrecked not even seven months after I got it. Kinda weird... hadn't seen this guy in three years and then he totals my first car and it was on my 21st birthday that it happened. I told everyone I wished I hadn't played hooky at work for my birthday. The lawsuit is just now getting wound down... five months after it happened. And I'm not even really getting anything for it.

And who was it? Jinny Girl? No 1994 crap-junk? Anyway, my first car (not provided by any amenable parents) was a little thing, barely bigger than a go-cart. It was Swedish I think. Light green body with cream colored oil. Don't buy a car with cream colored oil. It had a blown headgasket but, ummm, I didn't know that. The seller was the classic case of an adult taking advantage of an ignorant kid with no parental backup. The car lasted about a week. After that I got a motorcycle. That was a gas! It lasted until someone plowed into me and demolished it and tossed me into the air. I had an out-of-body experinece while flying through the air but managed to come back from it in one piece. I think?

First car... 1966 Dodge Dart GT V-8. I liked it. Bucket seats, console, auto trans. a/c, power steering, etc. I modified it through the years. Put on a 4-bbl carb, dual exhausts, shift kit, and lower rear axle ratio. Just for fun, I checked to see its 0-60 mph. time (I got 8.5 seconds). Owned from June 1979 to April 2002 but I stopped driving it regularly in 1995 (my dad and brother drove it). Someone smashed the driver's side door in April '02 while my dad was driving it and the insurance co. paid me its value instead of having it fixed. Reliable car. Mileage went from 109,000 (when bought) to 240,000. I drive a 1976 Cadillac now (also own a 1971 Cadillac).

Technically my first car would have been after I got married. Never had one before that! It was a 1969 Buick Gran Sport convertible.(4 on the floor) Very Very Cool! That's all I know about it except that it was probably considered a "muscle" car.

A very nice first car! If it had a 400 engine, then it's considered a muscle car, if a 350 engine, not a muscle car (but still desirable). I happen to have a lot of '50s-'70s car magazines. Here are some figures (from a Jan., 1969 Motor Trend)...

Transmission- - - - - - - - - - 3-speed auto
0-30 mph.- - - - - - - - - - - - 3.5 seconds
0-60 mph.- - - - - - - - - - - - 7.7 seconds
0-75 mph.- - - - - - - - - - - - 11.4 seconds
Standing start 1/4 mile- - - 15.9 secs. @ 89 mph.

Lots of wealthy parents out there...
My first was a 1989 Chevy Cavalier. My dad found it at a salvage yard. His best friend owns an autobody shop, so they pulled out the backend, put some new quarterpanels and fenders on it, and there I go. :)
Got it before I got a permit. :D

I got a brand new (in 1987) Toyota Camry my sr. year in HS - white with blue interior. The two happiest days I had with it were the day I got it and the day I sold it. I will never own a Japanese car again - what a piece of junk (just like Toyota's more expensive piece of junk, Lexus). I've stuck with German cars ever since.

Yea, my parents would rather send me to Hawaii for the winter, but a car they won't get.
So yea, I don't have one yet, but the one I'm driving now is practically mine, since my parents hardly ever drive it anymore. It's a blue 92' Plymoth Crystler.

87 Camry's were just lemons period. We had one and every time it got wet it died. We traded it on a much better 89 Corolla.

All anyone at school talks about is cars! My 1st car will probably be the '83 dodge colt sitting outside. We didn't drive it for a long time & now it needs a lot of things fixed, but it only has 29,000 miles. It also needs a new battery b/c I ran it down. If my aunt & uncle would've kept their mouths shut, my dad would've bought me a '96 grand am & my brother even sells cars
I learned to drive in a Silverado club cab truck & I haven't got to drove it for a while & kinda miss it :(
BTW, Anybody know how to change an oil filter?
