Yes, it was a good show. There's a message board for it under 1970s Sitcoms.

I can't believe the age difference between Sherman and Isabel. Look at this:
Taken from imdb.com
Isabel:
Date of birth (location)
29 August 1917,
Sherman: 1 February 1938,
Okay, if the Jeffersons debuted in 1975 that would've made Isabel around 58 and Sherman would be around 37. Isabel and Sherman looked to be around the same age, I couldn't believe when I heard Isabel was so much older than Sherman. She sure as hell didn't look 58 years old

It was always hard for me to believe that george was only 37 in 1975. He sure didn't look like it. My original guess was 47 or 48.

I wonder if it's possible that Sherman Helmsley was fibbing about his age? He did not look 37 when The Jefferson's started.

Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford aren't the first sitcom couple with a big age difference. "Good Times" co-stars John Amos and Esther Rolle were about 18 years apart. John Amos was born in 1941, and Esther Rolle was born in 1923. So that means that when the show premiered in 1974, Amos was 33 (he looked 43!) and Rolle was 51 (she looked 43!). Go figure.
