The 77-78 se4ason, the season florida was not on the show, did any of the children use her bedroom since there was a extra bedroom? Or did Michael and J.J. continue to sleep in the living room on the couch? I can't remember if Florida's room was used at all why she was away.

I really don't remember seeing no one go in that room during the 77-78 season.

J.J and Michael both shared it.

Are you sure? Why would Michael and J.J.as two men share a bedroom? I think you mean they shared the couch bed in the living room. I'm also positive that J.J. and Michael never went in that room during the 77-78 season

If two men can share a bed, they can share a bedroom. There is more space. Plus they are young brothers. They both shared it.

Why would both of them share florida'a room when one of them could have had the couch bed to theirself???????????????????

Why have a couch when you can have something that you have never had before? Your own room. They never had that.

I know I will most likely be accused of probing too deeply once again, but the issue of who got Florida's bedroom was yet another thing that wasn't handled particularly well. I also realize that it's a minor issue but the inability to deal with it is yet another example of sloppy writing.

If only Florida's bed was the only bed in the room then 'm JJ and Michael were once again sleeping togetehr as they did on the couch. There's no doubt that both of them would have been dying to sleep on their own especially given that Michael was no longer a boy. Wouldn't JJ therefore have made a point of purchasing another bed while he was making decent money working for the ad agency?

It wouldn't have taken much time to have straightened out this issue but instead wasn't and a quarter of a centry later we're still wondering!

I realize that one level people will be thinking that I'm making too much of this sort of thing, but on another level it was indication that the writers failed to pay attention to certain details. And besides, isn't part of the purpose of the board to haggle over every possible aspect of the show? :)

Yes i agree with you, I never understood why J.J didn't use Florida's room since he was the oldest. I guess that will go down as a question that will never be answered.

If this is the case, it means that they slept together which is a very odd thing for two grown men to do. What would you do if given the choice between sleeping with your older adult brother in a room or sleeping alone on a couch?

I realize that these are details that didn't have any impact on the show's plot lines and/or themes, but if the writers had been on the ball most of these questions wouldn't have remained open.

Of course, the issue that wasn't a minor detail that was very easily the most egregious oversight was not giving any sort of explanation re: what happened to Carl Dixon when Florida returned. The reason why they went away in the first place (Carl's health) also didn't make much sense.

Come to think of it, couldn't there have been a better way to have handled the departure of James (the father)? Instead of killing him off, couldn't they have left him alive in order to keep open the possibility of a return the way they did with Florida? Imagine what the final episode would have been like had James been a part of it?
