Why I liked this show

I liked this show in it's first season as the lady nurses were attractive and it was great fun to see Gomez Addams in a more normal setting! This show was a little low on period flavor of the 1940's however. But the second season cast was all topsy turvy and not very good at all.

i thought it was just me! i remember watching this show regularly during the first season and enjoying it quite a bit. i was happy to hear that it was renewed but then ABC dropped a bombshell: they had fired all but 3 cast members (Melinda Naud, Richard Bresthoff and Jim "Ernest" Varney)!!

season 2 was a disaster: the new cast was very talented (Randolph Mantooth, Robert Hogan, JoAnn Pflug, Warren Berlinger) but saddled with obnoxious, anti-laugh material!

what's more, the show was given the death slot: Monday nights on ABC, which means before or after football for the first few months-nothing survives there!

this is also where ABC sends sitcoms it wants to kill off (remember the last season of Drew Carey?)

i know some reruns were shown on cable in the 80s or 90s-anybody out there have any?
