Come ride the little train full of memories as I present my very favorite "Petticoat Junction" episodes.

DEAR MINERVA (Sept. 14, 1965)

The first colour episode and the first episode that PRIME usually runs, where Kate gets a job as an advice columnist.

THE BAFFLING RAFFLE (Sept. 21, 1965)

Uncle Joe goes looking for a missing raffle ticket while Kate takes his place on jury duty. Featuring Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as Oliver and Lisa Douglas.

THE GOOD LUCK RING (Oct. 3, 1965)

Bobbie Jo counts on a special ring to help her win a spelling bee.

BOBBIE JO'S SORORITY (Oct. 26, 1965)

Bobbie Jo tries to join her high school's sorority.

THE COUNTY FAIR (Feb. 8, 1966)

The Bradleys take part in the Hooterville county fair, with hilarious results.

THE INVISIBLE MR. DOBBLE (Feb. 22, 1966)

Kate believes that she sees (or doesn't see!) an invisible guest at the hotel. One of the funniest episodes of this (or any) series.

A COTTAGE FOR TWO (Oct. 22, 1967)

Steve and Betty Jo look for a place to live which ends up being a broken down cottage.

MEET THE IN-LAWS (Oct. 28, 1967)

My favourite episode, where Betty Jo meets Steve's parents. His father is played by Hugh Beaumont ("Leave It To Beaver"). My favourite scene is the last one where the men of Hooterville fix up the cottage as a surprise wedding present for the Elliotts. I thought it was a wonderful moment!

THE SINGING SWEETHEARTS (Oct. 5, 1968)

A pregnant Betty Jo reluctantly agrees to sing with her sisters on a radio show. Unlike some people, I loved it when the girls sang (see "Jump The Shark", for example). I thought all three of them had lovely voices to go along with their lovely bodies. However, when Steve tried to sing, that's when I'd reach for the "MUTE" button. I thought he was terrible!

THE VALLEY HAS A BABY (Oct. 26, 1968)

Kathy Jo is born at last! This is a very special episode. As the show welcomes one new addition to its cast it also bids farewell to a beloved old member. There is a scene where Betty Jo is in bed reading a note from her mother and trying very hard not to cry while doing so. While she is reading, we hear Kate Bradley's voice in the background reading along with her. That moment marked the last time that Bea Benaderet appeared on the show. She died on Oct. 13, 1968, two weeks before this episode aired.

GRANNY THE BABY EXPERT (Nov. 2, 1968)

Granny Clampett (Irene Ryan) comes to Hooterville to care for the new baby.

THE THREE QUEENS (Oct. 25, 1969)

The three Bradley sisters compete in a beauty contest.

KATHY JO'S FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY (Dec. 6, 1969)

Uncle Joe ends up in jail after he buys Kathy Jo a present for her first birthday.

HOW TO ARRANGE A MARRIAGE (Jan. 3, 1970)

Bobbie Jo and Betty Jo try very, very hard to convince Billie Jo to marry her latest sweetheart. It must have worked at some point. The boyfriend is played by Greg Mullavey, who eventually became Meredith MacRae's husband.
