Does someone what it was about terri that made the producers make her the one and only new roomate for janet and jack?

I still don'tunderstand why the producers would get someone as young as Cindy at that time-i found out she was only 21 during the 80-81 season

Personally I never cared for the 1st replacement of Somers. Harrison? She didn't look very friendly and she was not very comedic.

I thought Terry was the best of the 3 blondes.

Terri was the best blonde-and it was good her character was not as dingy as cindy and chrissy

Cindy was too much like Chrissy.
I think maybe in an attempt to get away from having another ditzy blonde, (and to make the audience forget Suzanne Somers)they decided to give the new roomie more brains and savvy. Teri fit the bill perfectly.

Cindy and Chrissy were not alike at all-Chrissy was dingy and cindy was clusmy-Cindy did not say dumb things-just bumped into things, and chrissy didn't bump into things, just said dumb things. So they were totally different

I would have preferred it if the kept Cindy and never had gotten Terri. I would have preferred it even more if they just kept Chrissy.

I think they should have Kept the show the way it was with Larry, Jack, Janet, and Mr. furley-and jack and janet have their own rooms-And then bring the Larry character more into the show-and the same with Mr. furley-But then again they would have to change the title of the show-So maybe a new roomate was needed

Chrissy and Cindy Snow - Cousins, same last name, they were both blonde and ditzy, both said dumb things.
Plus, in the "E True Hollywood Story" about Three's COmpany, they mentioned they wanted to move away from a roommate (Cindy) that was too much like Chrissy, so they brought in Teri.

I just don't remember Cindy saying too many dumb things-just being clumsy

Jenilee LOVED working there...you guys are wrong. It was the fact that 3'sC was losing it's sexual humor because Cindy wasn't like Chrissy who's breasts wiggled and made sex jokes. That was why the ratings went down, and that's why Terri came in. The penthouse pet sure did add on sex-related stuff to the show, but was given weak material in my opinion. I think that Jenilee's character was rid of because she was just there, and just being there doesn't call for $5,000 an episode. I loved Jenilee.

In my opinion, Jack and janet was without a roomate until the 81-82 season. That Cindy character was horrible. I still think her height played a factor in getting kicked off the show-TOO TALL-i think the producers eventually saw that a female roomate being the same height or taller than Jack just wasn't working. That's why terri was selected-shorter than jack.

OK . . . what is with you and Jenilee's height?! People do not get fired becasue they are too tall . . . it depends on Jenilee's funniness. They decided Cindy was no longer needed since they had Priscilla who could do most of the sex jokes so they let her go.

Just my opinion, always thought that Jenilee Harrison did not blend in well like Terri and Chrissy did because she was too tall. That'sjust my personal opinion.

well, i don't know what went wrong with the Jenilee Harrison episodes in the producers eyes. maybe the writers couldn't sustain enough slapstick? her era was much like The Three Stooges with all the pratfalls and clumsiness she pushed on Jack. remember the time the ironing board folded up between his legs because of Cindy's sudden "hi, Jack!!". her best scene is on the one episode when she and Janet are arguing...caused by Jack's honesty.

I cannot picture Jenilee on anything but Three's Company-Especially not a serious show like Dallas.

I did not like any of the Jenilee Harrison's episodes. It look liked the producers just pulled someone off the street to play a part. She did not fit in at all. Frankly, I enjoyed the show more after Priscilla Barnes came on. The sexual humor got tiresome and old. Chrissy's stupidness was annoying. Plus Joyce DeWitt beauty definitely shined during Priscilla's time especially when she grew her hair out.

The thing I didn't understand about Cindy was If they were trying to make her a Chrissy Snow relative, why was she falling over stuff? Chrissy wasn't clusmy or goofy, just dingy. Cindy was just retarded- I don't see how they were related

Well they didn't want an exact replica of Chrissy. So instead of making her a little light in the brain department, they made her klutzy. Werm I like Cindy the way she was. I wish she would've stayed until the end. *le sigh*

Well the producers were able to see that Terri should have started her role in 1980 instead of 1981. I guess they thought Suzanne would return eventually since they created a Chrissy's Cousin character.

Cindy was never meant to be permanent. She was just going to be there until they could start casting someone for a permanent role on the show, which is harder to cast than a temporary role. I doubt they were thinking Suzanne would return because it seems to me they didn't even want her there anymore.

I was very happy to see Cindy go, Terri was a breath of fresh air. I even started to hate Chrissy twords the end of her run. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Chrissy in the very early episodes. In the early episodes Chrissy didn't act retarded and cartoonish. She acted more normal back then, just a little on the ditzy side. I also think she was a whole lot prettier without all that thick black mackup around her eyes and I liked when she use to wear her hair down without that dumb pig tail on the side of her head. Terri proved that you don't have to act retarded to get laughs.

Yes Chrissy in season 4 and 5 was definitely retarded

Who in the heck's idea was it to turn Chrissy into such a retard? She was even getting there in season 3. By season 4 she was a full fledged dumb---. Somers had a lot of nerve demanding more money by season 5. Chrissy in that state wasn't worth 5 dollars an episode! Well, I'm exagerrating, but still, she would have been better if she hadn't gotten so blonde and stupid. People say the Ropers jokes were tiresome. Chrissy's lower than room temperature IQ was getting tiresome to me. What a disappointment. Yet, I still would take season 4-5 Chrissy over Cindy. Chrissy wasn't a total waste even at her worst. But Cindy was a waste to me. What a relief she was only a temporary. Too annoying for words. And that girl had a lot of nerve calling Janet short.

For the longest time I never cared much for Terri. I always liked Cindy better. I have always liked Jenilee Harrison, probably because she and my sister look alot alike. :)

Cindy could have stuck around as a recurring character, lots of shows do that.

Cindy was extremely goofy. Terri was much more normal than Chrissy and Cindy

True, but Terri always struck me as being snobby. That's just the way she came across to me. That's why I never liked Terri much. Cindy was more down to earth.

Terri to me seemed to think she was better than Jack and Janet.

These posts about Suzanne Sommers made me roll on the floor laughing.

Hilarious!!!

As for Cindy, the producers just made her like a robot. She just didn't seem comfortable. I am sure there was an extreme amount of tension and pressure going on for her.

Cindy was just meant to be a temporary replacement--notice how she never "really" was involved with Jack and Janet in some episodes--she'd have a few moments with Jack and Janet in the beginning and at the end of the episode. Remember this is also the time Chrissy was having her one minute telephone segments at the end of each episode (which for some reason, have all been edited out), so Chrisy's presence still didn't have to be replaced entirely with a "Chrissy clone"--which is why Cindy was more clumsy and awkward than ditzy. Terri was brought in to be more comedic in a sassy way rather than a "dumb blonde" way, and besides, the jiggly Chrissy humor was already wearing thin. I must say the Terri episodes are memorable in their own way, and they shouldn't be compared to the "Chrissy" years.

The producers preferred Terri simply because Jenilee Harrison wasn't as experienced as Priscilla Barnes. Cindy Snow was a poorly planned character, and it often showed. To quote director Dave Powers "She was a Rams cheerleader for God's sakes!".
I also agree with all the people who say they made Chrissy out to be too damn dumb. They should've kept it to the level they had it at the beginning. I hate Alan Hamel. Just because you have no future, and you know you're not going to make any money, you have to brainwash your wife into demanding a raise she didn't really want, so you can stay rich. What an a**hole.

Werm it's still partially his fault. Granted, she shouldn't have given in. I mean, if I told you to slap a squirrel I'd still be responsible in a way for the injury you caused that poor squirrel.

Yeah but she was supposed to be old enough to think for herself.
