Did you know that Claudette Wells guest starred on two episodes of A Different World (1987-88 season) which at the time was produced by Square Pegs creator Anne Beatts.
You can see the Beatts influence in the first season which like Square Pegs always had popular music in the background, Dwayne and Ron remind me of Marshell and Johnny, Also Whitley reminds me of Muffy. Also Denise is a little bit like Patty (exept Denise could get a date) being the only normal one in the middle of the crazy supporting characters. (which I call the Bob Newhart effect.) Also their are alot of simularites between the SP ep "It's Academical" and the ADW ep "The Show Must Go On". (a love triangle where the guy in the middle is really not interested at all)
Anyway I just wanted to tell you one of the things the show's creator and one of the castmembers did latter on in their carrers and tell you that they would work together. And discuss how simular this two shows which I feel is largely because of Anne Beatts.
