I found this little bit in tvnow's recent news, so I decided to post it here.
Rod Serling: It's been over twenty-five years since the creator of The Twilight Zone died, yet his work lives on without him. The UPN Network premiered their version of the show this week with Forest Whitaker in the host chair. Stacy Keach was just announced as the host of a new "Zone" radio series, set to debut in October. Falcon Picture Group, LLC plans to produce 150 stories based on the original television scripts with sci-fi writer Dennis Etchison in the mix to update the episodes with modern elements. It may be time to buy a good FM antenna.

'Twilight Zone' Heads to Radio
Thu, Sep 19, 2002 11:00 AM PDT
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "The Twilight Zone" has returned to television, and now it's headed to radio.
A company called Falcon Picture Group has signed a licensing agreement with CBS Enterprises to turn scripts from the original, Rod Serling-created "Twilight Zone" into radio dramas. Stacy Keach ("Titus") will serve as host for the radio series.
"I'm very grateful to CBS and the Rod Serling estate for making this legendary series available," says Carl Amari, chairman of Falcon Picture Group.
The radio production is not connected to UPN's new incarnation of "The Twilight Zone," which premiered Wednesday (Sept. 18) on UPN. It will reproduce Serling's scripts, expanding each half-hour TV episode into a 60-minute audio format and using the show's original theme and score as background music.
Falcon has lined up a number of actors to take part in the radio series. Among them are Jeremy Piven (who stars in a future episode of the UPN series), Jane Seymour, Ed Begley Jr., Frankie Muniz and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The "Twilight Zone" radio dramas will be syndicated to stations beginning in late October. More information is available at www.twilightzoneradio.com.

Rod Serling wa a genius (a word tossed out too easily, but totally applicable to Rod Serling) so it is not surprising that his legacy would live on. I hope that in time the new show will come at least close to the intrigue and originality of Rod's Twilight Zone. Oh, and a radio show sounds like an exciting venture.

I just wanted to post my two cents instead of posting just the articles and leaving it at that. I do agree that Rod was a genius. This guy was way ahead of his time. Do you want to know something scary? Rod doubted his abilities. He seriously thought he had no talent. If you read two of Rod's biographies, you'll see the man had some serious doubts about himself. I wished he had lived long enough to see how much of a following he has.
I doubt any new TZ will ever come close to the original TZ. The original TZ had some excellent writers that really seemed to throw everything into their stories. Rod and his team are still way ahead of everybody. I doubt we see another writer that will ever be able to fill his shoes.
