Who is your early favorite to win the winston cup next year?

I think and hope ITS dALE jr's year!

I got a Christmas card from Dale Jr. Today:) Have any of you met any drivers in person?

This summer I got to meet, Steve Park,Matt Kenseth,Ken Schrader,Jeff Green and Kyle Petty. They are the nicest people you could ever meet!! I met these drives from the Kyle Petty charaity ride and they came through Nebraska. I got autographs and picture of each one:)

I'm not sure who I want to win the Daytona 500, maybe Mark, Ward, or Elliot! I've met Mark Martin, Ward Burton, John Andretti, Casey Atwood, and Elliot Sadler. I didn't get their autograph but I saw Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jerry Nadeau (?)! My mom and Dad have met almost all of them!:happyface

I need your help NASCAR FANS! Every year during the NASCAR season I do the same race with all laps on my Playstation 2 game (NASCAR Thunder 2003) and this year I'm looking for a sponsor and I can't decide between the following: Three's Company,EA sports,Walmart,Kmart, Lindy's sports anuals, Coca Cola, the university of Nebraska (which I had last year) Craftsman,Delphi,76 Fuel or Runza! I've got about 5 weeks to get my sponsorship for the year. So I need your help please help decide on which sponsor I should take for the NASCAR 2003 season! Thanks!:)

The Daytona 500 is about a week away and I can't wait. I get to sponsor a lap in the Daytona 500!!!! If Dale Jr. takes the lead on my sponsored lap I get a gift from him and my money goes to his charity which is for a real good cause.

Who do you think will win and who do you want to win?

That was an exciting race (Bud Shootout) and was very glad to see that Dale Jr. won!! I think we are in for a very exciting race on Sunday if the Bud Shootout is any indication. All the drivers seem to be very concerned about the big one, according to Ward Burton its sounds like it is (the big one) very likley its going to happen.

Did anyone see the Gatorade twin 125's this afternoon? Those were two exciting races. Robby Gordon won the first one and Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the second one! I think this is going to be one of the best Daytona 500's ever!

I want Dale Earhardt Jr. to win, he is my favorite driver and he has been dominating Speed weeks.

I will predict that a Chevy will win the race they have looked unstopable all week.

I've been to Phoenix and Kansas. Going to see it live is an experience! It royally sucks when it's hot, but it's fun when the weather's nice. The first race I went to (in Phoenix) got rained out and we were stuck at the track for 6 hours extra trying to find our car in the mud pile of a parking lot. For the next 3 years we took the shuttle.

Well I'm not sure about tickets for the Indianappolis track, but I looked on NASCAR.com at the tickets for this weekends Subway 400 at Rockingham (North Carolina) and the grand stand seats there cost $80.00 the concoarse seats cost $100.00 and the suites cost $300.00 and for camping out in the infield cost $50 per vehicle.

I watched the race it was pretty good Matt Kenseth won the race. The Chevy's dominated most of the race, but on the last pit stop Mat Kenseth got out in front and nobidy could catch him. There was a big 5 car wreck which included Rusty Wallace, Mike Skinner, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch and Todd Bodine. Sterling Marlin and Jimmie Johnson had to to go to the big red truck after a last lap spin out, Sterling spun out Jimmie and Jimmie ended up in 11th. The top 5 finishers were:

1. Matt Kenseth
2. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
3. Micheal Waltrip
4. Bobby Labonte
5. Tony Stewart

Oh I know Jeff was so close, his season is getting back on track since the first three races, Jeff is now 8th in the NWC points. Yeah Bobby's car was hooked up all day and just had a little bit more horse power than Jeff in the end. Now we are getting to tracks that Jeff is good at so, he should do real well, in the next few weeks.

Yeah if they stay in the top 20 all day they will be just fine, but it sounds like rain could be a factor again, all three do well at Darlington, so this would be the best time for all of them to get back on track.

This weeks race at Bristol should be exciting and I can't wait to see it! Well Dale Jr., Jeff Gordon adn Jimmie Johnson all have good starting spots for Sunday. Bristol is my favorite track on the Nascar Winston Cup cirtuit, because its close and the wrecks as long as they arn't bad. Bristol holds the record for most cautions with 23 during one race.

*PinkLady*

That was an awesome Busch race today! Congratulations to Kevin Harvick for winning a great race! In the Busch race the record for cautions is 14 and today there were 13 cautions, I can just Imagine what tomarrows race is going to be like. This is why I love Bristol so much.

This was an interesting race today, although I wish Kurt Busch didn't win. There were around 15 cautions in this race today and those wrecks were exciting, but I really hope Kyle Petty is ok, he got ou tof his car fine, but then they took him to a near by hospital for a checked out real good. Todays race proved that Bristol is the best track in Nascar, or atleast in my opinion. Next week they go to Texas and that also should be a great race.

03-23-2003, 08:23 PM
I agree, Bristol makes for interesting races. I'm glad Petty was OK - that crash didn't really look terrible, but I guess it was worse because he hit the wall on the driver's side. I also wish Busch didn't win, but you take the good with the bad, I suppose. Where did Dale Jr. finish?

Yeah Bristol makes for interesting races and some hot tempers as well, especialy Jerry Nadue and Ryan Newman. Yeah I'm really glad Kyle Petty is ok, he is a real nice guy and I'm glad I got to meet him this past summer, I agree that crash didn't look bad at all, which reminds me of Dale Earnhardt Sr. crash at Daytona didn't look bad at all, compared to some I have seen, thank goodness for those head and neck saftey devices, they have definalty proven to work. Dale Jr. finished 16th, he was in the top 10 until he ran out of gas and fell 3 laps down, he also feel back to 5th in the NWC point standings, Oh well I'm just glad he is in the top 10 in points, because at the begining of the season it didn't look like he would have come close. Jimmie Johnson also had a great finish today, hopefuly he can get back on track and get back in the points race.

Well Sunday's race at Texas is going to be real exciting, there is usualy alot of lead changes here, although I think in 1998 Dale Jarret dominated that race, but with all the rules changes this should make for a great race. Jimmie Johnson starts 3rd, Jeff Gordon Starts 5th and Dale Jr. starts 8th, if all can stay up front they should all have a great finish.

Oh man Talladega is going to be an awesome race, it alway has close racing, and there is always the risk of the big one, and if it happens I hope that no one will get hurt. I'm glad because this is one of Dale Jr.'s best tracks, I think he has won there 4 out of the last 5 races, or something like that, Talladega is also one of my favorite tracks, because of the close racing and all the lead changes. I think this will be a Chevy dominated race like Daytona was but then again I could be wrong I guess we just have to wait and see.

Wow what a race that was, starting with that 27 car pile up, I'm sure glad Ryan Newman is ok, he doesn't like these restricter plate tracks to well, and who can blame him after the incident at Daytona and what happened today, I'm glad evreyone was ok after that. I am so Happy Dale Jr. won the race, but I agree with you jimmiegirl48 that race ending is very contoversial, I'm a huge Dale Jr. fan, but to me it didn't look like he was forced down below that yellow line, I think Nascar didn't do anything because they think a lot of fans would be upset if they took that win away from him. I hate that yellow line rule, because it seems they have more and not fewer accidents, so I think they should do away with that rule for Talladega. I thought Jimmie would be more upset, but he seemed more disappointed than upset, he said it was his fault he spun out, but he didn't like what happened up front, Well Next week there will be more exciting action at Martinsville, my second favorite track. Congratulations to Dale Jr. on winning an exciting yet controversial race!

I just saw this on the speed channel, they were doing interviews after the race and Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch were about to get into a fight, Kurt Busch was acting like a baby and slung gator aid at Tony and Tony told Kurt's crew chief Jimmy Fenning to tell his driver to watch his back in the race next week. I'm with Tony on this one, Kurt Busch ran Tony into the wall and then bumped his own team mate Greg Biffle, Kurt better grow up soon.

Well Martinsville should be exciting this weekend, its the second best short track of course bristol being the best or IMO anyway, I think the yates racing teams of Dale Jarret and Elliot Sadler will be the favorites to win this weekend, I love this race track, because there is alot of action I remember one year when John Andretti spun out and was a lap down but he came back and won the race so it could be anybodus race, and watch for Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch this weekend to see if something happens.

Wow that was an exciting race, Ii had a feeling once the race got going it would be between Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr., and I have a feeling that Dale Jr. would have won the race if Ricky Craven didn't cut in front of him, but Ricky had a flat tire and just pushed up the track. Tony is mad again this time at Elliot Sadler. Well congratulations to Jeff Gordon for winning an exciting race, whether you like him or not, that was a great race. I think the races this year have been more ecxiting than in recent years. Well next week is an off week, I hope everyone enjoys Easter this weekend!

Yeah that was pretty funny, what was going on between Stewart and Sadler, although I can see why tempers would be high after a short track race, although Ii didn't see what was going on between those two, until after the race, I don't know if you saw Darrel Waltrip at the end, but he was funny when he talked about it. Yeah it was pretty exciting I was hopeing that Bobby could hold him off, or that Dale Jr. could have gotten by them, but oh well I guess we will wait for California to see what happens next.

I'm with Tony on this one, Kurt Busch ran Tony into the wall and then bumped his own team mate Greg Biffle, Kurt better grow up soon.

At the end of the race, they were bumping each other back and forth trying to knock each other out of line. I think it started when Sadler knocked Stewart back to sixth...it's hard to be sure when you're listening to the radio.

I didn't see when when it started because they were focusing on Jeff Gordon and Bobby Labonte, but they showed Tony and Elliot on the cool down lap, and Tony kept running onto Elliot, they did say that Elliot bumped Tony to pass him, so that is what tony was upset about. Thats two weeks in a row Tony has been upset at someone, at Talladega it was Kurt Busch and Martinsville it was Elliot Sadler, I wonder who it will be at California?

Well as far as racing goes it was a great race, I watched the last 30 laps because I was watching the draft, but I turned the channel once in a while, but after watching those last 30 laps that may have benn the best racing all, but the disappointing part was of course Kurt Busch winning, I was pulling so hard for Dale Jr. and Rusty Wallace, to win and I thought Rusty had a chance, it would be nice to see him win again. I would say it was a great race with a disappointing finish, also there were some awesome crashes, I'm glad everyone is ok. Well next weeks race is on Saturday night at Richmond, which that race should be awesome because its a short track. Also that race will be on FX.

I also hope that Jerry Nadeau who was criticaly injured in a practice crash will make a full recovery, he has head, lung and rib injuroes, but even though he is in critical condition he is awake and his vital signs are improving, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Yeah I wished they would have let the race finish, there would have been some great racing between Joe Nemecheck, Bobby Labonte and Dale Jr and probably Mark martin to. Well next week will be boaring since there is no race, but in two weeks its the winston, the winston is one of my favorite races even though there are no points involved. Last I heard Jerry Nadeau was still in critical condition, with head injuries, unspecified rib injuries and a partialy collapsed lung, there was a report that he was in a coma, but I looked on Nascar.com and I didn't see anything saying he was in a coma, Nascar.com said that his wife was encouraged after seeing him and that his vital signs are good, and he also knows there are people visiting him so his progress looks slow but good.

Well last I heard is that his wife was incouraged after seeing him. He still remains in critical condition, but he can sense people are visiting him, during the race they said hi seyes were open, but isn't talking, because he is sadated, also during the race they said that the doctors like hi sprogress and his injuries are ribs (probably broken ribs) a partialy collapsed lung and unknown head injuries, Espn siad that he had a skull fracture and his prognosis isn't good, but then ESPN is the only one reporting that, so I'm going by Nascar.com updates and hopefully there will be a new update tomarrow if I hear any more I will be sure to post it on here. Yeah I feel real bad for his family and especialy his daughter Natalie, my thoughts and prayers are with his daughter Natalie and his wife Jada and with him as well.

In other Nascar news Steve Park got released from DEI today (5-6-03) I'm a little disappointed about that, I know he has struggled, but I think they should have made changes within the crew first and wait until the end of the year. Recently releaded driver Jeff Green will drive the Penzoil chevy until they find a new rerplacement, and it wouldn't suprise me if Steve Park goes to drive the AOL Chevy for Richard Childress racing.

It seems like it, he either crashes, or he is always near the end of the field after every race, I hope he finds a new ride soon, I still don't like that move, but it was probably needed, I think I disagree more with the hiring of Jeff Green for the Penzoil car, Jeff doesn't do all that well either, I was hoping they would get a young and upcomming person from the Busch series, Jeff Green does well in the Busch series but has never done well in Winston Cup for some reason, he didn't do well when he drove the #29 Cartoon Network car in the early 90's and in the Mid to late 90's when he drove the #46 First Union car. I hope it works out for everybody. I also met Jeff Green and he is a real nice person to, once I get my scanner working I willpost the pictures of me with the Nascar Drivers, they turned out real good.

I think DEI made the wrong move in hiring him to replace Steve Park, I was hoping they could get a young up and comming star from the Busch series.

I have more great news on Jeryy Nadeau, earlier today he was upgraded to fair condition and is out of ICU and is in his own private room, I think his biggest injury to overcome is his partially punctured lung, oh also according to that report on Nascar.com his vital signs remain good.

I am a little upset about that wreck at the end of the second segment that took out, Dale Jr., Dale Jarret, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Terry Labonte, and Bill Elliot. Bill Elliot was taken to the hospital for a foot injury, hopefully its nothing to serious. Jeff Gordon drove a little rough, and I'm sure Jeff and Ward are going to have some words. I agree I think there would still be alot of good racing to come if they haven't called it. I still think Jimmie would have won he had a very strong car, and the only way someone could get by him, if they could beat him out of the pits, but Jimmie had excellent pit stops as well. I think Jimmie was disappointed because he wanted to do his burn out. Oh well I liked the racing we got to see anyway, I always get nervous when a bunch of cars get caught a lap down making a pitstop when the caution comes out and then they have to start in front of the lead cars, you know theres going to be a wreck when that happens, you just have to hold your breath.

There were some big wrecks to so I'm glad everyone is ok. Sorry about Jimmie's crash, he had a pretty strong car today, it looked like Jeff Gordon had the most dominating car today, but his pit crew had some slow pit stops and I'm glad he didn't win. Pocono should be interesting next week, Dale Jarret has seemed to own this track recently, so I think its time for someone else to take over Pocono, it should be a good race next week. Do you remember Steve Park and Dale Jr.'s crash at Pococo last year, the second race I believe, its the one where Steve flipped his car several times before ending up on its roof, that was one of the scariest wrecks I have seen.

I don't like Ryan Newman either, he blames people for his own crashes. Jeff obviously had the better car and was th emost dominate today. I either thought Jeff or Tony was going to win, I noticed to that Dale Jr. is about to lose second place in points to Jeff, he needs to start picking the pace up again. As long as Matt Kenseth keeps finishing up front, he is going to be hard to pass for the all important points lead.

As far as the Sterling thing goes, at Dover it was hard to tell if he came down or Jeff came up, either way its not either of there faults, its just the way there cars were handling, at the winston it was the same thing it was hard to tell, but the person atleast from the Winston who was furious with Jeff Gordon is Ward Burton, Jeff wrecked him on the straitaway.

I don't like Sterling either, and I can't stand his voice.

Also during qualifying today they talked about the Sterling Marlin and Jeff Gordon incident last week, they both had to go to the big red truck, and sounds like Jeff got a warning, something tells me Sterling and Jeff won't be exchanging holiday gifts anytime soon, when they interviewed Sterling today and was asked if he and Jeff talked things over, and he gave the rerporter a strange look, and said they talked to him more than me.

Also Jerry Nadeau's recovery is just going fast today he is out of the rehabilitation center and was at his teasm shop earlier today, he may even be back to driving later this year, which at one time people (including me) thought he would never drive again, thi sis very good news!

That's great news about Jerry. :D

Just wait until Sterling retires, then his son Stedmond will take over, but he can't drive worth a toot, so he shouldn't be a major threat.

Thats what I was thinking, why would someone nam ethere kid Stedmond. In my NASCAR media guide I got some info on Sterling.

Hometown: Franklin Tennessee

Birthday: June 30th 1957

Marital Status: wife Paula

Children: Stedmond, Sutherlin

Just think in the next few years we could have 2 Busch's and 2 Marlins's in Winston Cup.

There was a huge argument after the Busch series race tonight, between, Mike Wallace, Todd Bodine, David Stremme and Johnny sauter and Kerry Earnhardt, the Kerry Earnhardt and Todd Bodine situation was seperate from the other incident, and both Kerry and Todd had to go to the big blue truck.

Well a pretty good race today, I thought for awhile, that Sterling might win, and I had to laugh at Kurt Busch for his tire problem, and some of those wrecks today were scary and I'm glad everybody is ok, especialy Ken Schrader, Dale Jarret and Jeff Green, who had the worst wrecks. Congratulations to Tony Stewart for winning an exciting race today!

BTW, what was Kurt's "tire problem?"

Kurt Busch, probably 70 laps to go or so, went into turn two and his tire blew out, he didn't hit the wall, but the tire was tearing up the right side of his car, which put him further back into the field, Also Jeff Gordon had a flat tire on lap 2 and was never a real factor today. Also both Dale Jarret and Ken Schrader in two seperate crashes, both cars caught on fire and Ken Schrader's car flipped over, and when his car came to rest on its wheels he was quick to get out of there, I'm glad they are both ok.

Well this week is Michigan, this should be one heck of a race, there probably won't be alot of cautions, but there should be several lead changes unless someone dominates it like Dale Jarret did a few yeasr ago. Also there was an article our state paper (Omaha World Herlad) about Jeff Gordon and is incidents involving Ward Burton and Sterling Marlin, and reading that article it made me so mad at Jeff, I will try and post it later tonight or tomarrow sometime. Its a very intersting article.

Three'sCompanyrules
06-14-2003, 01:11 AM
I was going to post the article about Jeff Gordon, but its to long, it basicaly talks about that drivers are complaining about Jeff using the bump and run a little to much, what mad me mad at Jeff is he said when he wrecked Ward Burton at the Winston, which by the way was on the strait away, he said that Dale Jr. forced him up into Ward Burton which is a lie, Dale Jr. was way behind him during that incident, anyway enough about that it goes on to talk about Jeff past history with Jeff having bitter arguments with Dale Jarret at New Hamphsire, Tony Stewart at Watkins Glenn and Rusty Wallace several times at Richmond and Bristol, and the rest talks about the Jeff and Sterling incidents.

Speaking of the bump and run, did it ever seem to you that Dale Earnhardt is the only driver to get away with it, I was a huge Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, and I still am, but it just seemed he was th eonly driver to get away with the bump and run, did any of you ever notice that?

Should be another great race in Michigan this week. Bobby Labonte is on the pole for Sundays race with Tony Stewart starting 2nd. With the looks of qualifying the Chevy's should dominate although Kurt Busch starts 4th alongside Dale Jr. in 3rd. Like I saiad it should be a great race on Sunday.

I stopped watching races @ Michigan in 1998. 9/10 of the races there put me to sleep.

Now, a lot of people may very well disagree with me, but I think NASCAR should have a couple more road races per season. Anyone can race in a big ovular circle. But, to go in all sorts of crazy directions in a circle...that takes skill....

Three'sCompanyrules

I think more road courses would be interesting, but they have to many races now to add new road courses, unless they take away a race were they race twice a year, it would definatly be intersting. Michigan is usualy good unless its like the year were Dale Jarret just dominated, that was by far the boaringest race I've seen. Speaking of road courses, the Wwinston Cup guys go to Sonoma, or I guess they renames Infinion raceway now, but its the first road race of the year, that will be fun to see.

Three'sCompanyrules
06-15-2003, 05:23 PM
Well the race was pretty good today until Kurt Busch got in front and won the race. Again it looked like Sterling had the best car all day, and then Jeff looked like he was going to dominate until Kurt got by him, so the racing was good, but the finish was not what I hoped for so Ii'm not going to congratulate Kurt Busch on wining the race this week. Next week is the first Road course race of the year in Sonoma California, that should be a great race as well, Jeff Ggordon will be the tough guy to beat given his career record at road courses.

To bad Kurt's car didn't do what Ryan Newman's car did in the race. Ryan's motor just exploded and his car was on fire, and Ryan said he couldn't breathe for awhile, to bad Kkurt's motor didn't do the same thing.

Jeff qualified in the 8th spot, he should be the one to watch this week, Jeff has a great record at road courses. I'm suprised Kurt did that well because he crashed in the practice before qualifying, maybe he put something illegal in the car, because that car was pretty ugly looking. I just hope Dale Jr. will finish well not necesserly win, but finish well, he needs to improve on the road courses, or else h ecould drop spots in the points after tomarrows race.

Now to the race that was an awesome race between Jeff and Robby Gordon. Congratulations to Robby Gordon for winning an exciting race, Jeff Gordon has now moved into second in the points, and is 174 points behind Matt Kenseth, and 2 points ahead of Dale Jr. Well Nnascar is off next week and then its back to Daytona for the Pepsi 400, which is an awesome race because its a night race and night races are always awesome IMO. Go get him and get him good! Good now Kurt and Sterling out of the way and in the process of getting Robby Gordon, keep up the good work. :D

I'm going to miss Fox to which is way better than NBC's NASCAR coverage, the only two people I like on NBC's coverage crew are Matt Yokum (who also is one of Fox's pit reporters) and Benny Parsons. Well I can't wait for Rockinham in February to here those famous words of racing Boogity Boogity Boogity!

Back to Robby Gordon, I guess I didn't think anything of it at the time, but did anyone catch his illegal pass on his team mate Kevin Harvick for the lead under a caution? Robby must of had a brain cramp or something, but did he forget you don't race back tot he caution, you can let cars a lapped down pass you to get there lap back, but if 2 cars are on the lead lap they aren't supposed to race back to the Caution flag, so some advice to Robby read the rules next time.

I like Kevin to he is my second favorite NASCAR driver. I hope Childress had a talk to him to, I iknow during the race he yelled at Robby in a seperat eincident after he bumped Kevin alittle when Robby tried to 3 wide in the final turn. I also remember back at Bristol last year Dale Jr. was in 4th at the time and could have easily won the race, because they had just went to a restart with about 20 laps to go, anyway Robby was a lapped down and he wouldn't even let Jr. get by him, Robby also forgets that if you are a lap down you are not supposed to race the leaders with very little laps to go, Robby should go back to Indy car racing and stay away from NASCAR.

It seemed like half the field either had bad guesses on there fuel milage, or just gambled on trying to make it to the finish. Ccongratulations to Greg Biffle for winning an interesting and race.

I hate NBC so much I imean good grief how many commercials do they have to take, they get back from one commercial and 2 minutes later they have another one.

Oh and wasn't it nice to see Kurt Busch in that crash, I was so happy, and he lost a bunch of points. Also did anyone see when Robby Ggordon's hood flew into the crowd? There were some injuries, but they weren't life threating, which is good.

Robby said I don't see Jeff complaining about that one. Which again Robby is not smart because Jimmie was already in the process of passing Micheal and at the road course Robby was not in the process of passing Kevin Harvick. I think Jack Sprague wasn't ready for Winston or should I say Nextell cup, his best days were in the Craftsman truck series and had some good races in the Busch series last year, but he just didn't seem ready for the next level. I agree he is a good driver, maybe if he was with a better team he would do better in Winston Cup. I saw were John Andretti is replacing Jack so we will see how that goes. Also a few weeks back Mike Skinner got fired and is being replaced, although I believe tempereraly with Jonny Sauter.

Starting from this race on I wil make a prediction on the race winner like they did on Fox's telecasts, if anyone else wants to they can make there own prediction to.

My prediction for the race at New Hampshire is Jeff Gordon. Jeff alwayas does well there and he just got doen testing there so I think he will be the one to beat this week.

Also Jeff Gordon finished 24th and is still in 2nd place in the points with a slim lead over 3rd place Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Next week they go back to Pocono, which should be a good race Tony Stewart should be strong there again since he won the first race there.

Yep, it was a great race today glad to see Jimmie Johnson win. I was kinda dissapointed to see Jamie crash after leading, he hit kinda hard but glad to see him ok, and i could have sworn i saw his back bumper cover fly into the stands, i wonder how many fights there were after the race too, there sure was a display of short tempers on the track today.

Man I'm glad Jamie was ok after that hard hit, he almost got air born, hopefuly he will bounce back and have a good finish at Pocono. Yeah I did see his bumper cover go over the fence and almost hit some track officials. Also ddi you see Rusty Wallace's bumper cover fly over the fence when Tony Stewart got him from behind, I don't believe any fans were in the path of his bumper cover.

On another note its good to see that the track surface was very much better than last year, if you remember last year the track surface at New Hampshire came up and caused lots of problems for drivers, the track owners did a good job of fixing the track.

I'm not sure how many fights there was but I know the biggest one was between John Andretti and Jimmy Spencer, Andretti's crew left soem car parts at Jimmy's trailer so he could see it after the race and Greg Biffle had to go to the big red truck after he did something to Jeff Gordon in the pits.

Well Ryan Newman is on the pole again for Sunday's race at Pocono, Jimmie Johnson starts second. I think it will be a good race this weekend, also both Jeff Gordon and Micheal Waltrip hit the wall during there qualifying runs, and are starting in the middle of the field.

RustyShackleford
07-25-2003, 09:25 PM
I believe it will be a good race as well, I was really suprised by the effort from John Andretti with qualifying 5th hope he'll do good this weekend and the rest of the year, and Casey Mears was another shocker but i guess thats owed to that seat time in the Busch and ARCA series, my pick qualified 8th so im looking for a strong performance this weekend from DJ.

Three'sCompanyrules
07-25-2003, 10:30 PM
Yeah I am happy for John Andretti and I hoep he has a great run this weekend. I think Casey Mears will be a very good driver down the road, your right Rusty I think all that driving he has done in the busch series and in ARCA have really helped him out.

My pick to win this weekend (Bill Elliot) qualified in the 11th position.

Three'sCompanyrules
07-27-2003, 05:40 PM
Well Ryan Newman won the race, which I'm disappointed and Kurt Busch finished 2nd, which made the finish even worse, but it was an exciting race, because up until the last lap you didn't know what was going to happen. Jeff Gordon and Casey Mears had the worst wreaks of the day, thank goodness they are both ok. Dale Jr. is back in second place in the points!

Next week is probably the second biggest race of the year at the Brickyard 400 in Indianappolis, this should be a very good race, I always like the end when the winner gets there name on the bricks, lets just hope Ryan, Sterling, Robby or Kurt don't win.

My prediction for the Brickyard 400 is Tony Stewart, he si the hometown favorite and he usualy runs well at Indy.

RustyShackleford
07-27-2003, 10:00 PM
Very exciting race today, but dissapointing for #42 TexacoHavolline Dodge, its two weeks in a row with a problem, he just needs to turn it around a little bit, i dont even know what made him go out for the short period he was, just in a slump i guess, but he'll get out of it.

i thought for a while that Stewart would sneak the win but that ended up in smoke, and a good run for Michael Waltrip as well he has really come alive this season then tohse in the bast he has really stepped it up from the past 2 years

My pick for the Brickyard 400, Matt Kenseth

According to NASCAR.com there is going to be a major announcement today August 1st at 11:30 (Central Time) Several fromer Nascar drivers and current drivers will be at this press conference, along with the president of RJ Reynolds tobacco company and some other people.

I have no clue what this could be, but its should be interesting to find out what it is, the press conference won't be on TV, but Nascar.com will cover it, the only way you can see the press conference live is by webcast.

I saw the last part on the Speed Channel, and from what I understand it is a specail promotion from RJR and Action Performance and a series of die-cast honoring past and current champions with "Victory Lap"paint schemes to honor Winston's involvement in NASCAR

Three'sCompanyrules
08-01-2003, 09:27 PM
Yeah I read about it on NASCAR.com, some of those paint schemes are awesome, and I know Rusty Wallace will run that paint scheme at the Bristol night race in a few weeks so that should look sweet under the lights.

Another good race this week! Congratulations to Kevin Harvick for winning the Brickyard 400! I honestly didn't think Kevin would win, until he got by Jamie McMurray, before that I thought either Jamie, Tony or Matt was going to win, but that last caution sure turned things around. The biggest wreck of the day was near the end when Kurt Busch spun out Terry Labonte and collected 7 cars all together. I think Kurt should have been penialised for that.

Next week its back to road course racing at Watkins Glenn! I think this is the best of the two road course races, and should be yet another exciting race.

My prediction for Watkins Glenn is Mark Martin, he always does well at Watkins Glenn.

RustyShackleford
08-06-2003, 10:24 PM
yep, i was pulling for Jamie in the end , would have loved to see him win it. but Kevin Harvick is on my list of favorites so glad to see him win

That wreck was bad, Kurt is not a good driver, not one I like hes a bit on the annoying side

My prediction for Watkins Glen this week, Steve Park he won in 2000 i think, but i would like to see him win in the AOL car its been a while since he won

RustyShackleford

Wild race today in Watkins Glen, it was awesome to see Robby Gordon win, 2 weeks in a row for RCR good to see that they are performing better this year

I couldnt believe Jeff Gordon did not get off the track when he ran out of gas, thats usually the smart thing to do, and then he got spun by Harvick and lost 30 positions

Christian Fittipaldi had to go to the hospital after the race due to Carbon Monoxide, hope he will be ok

And is it just me or is there alot of heat coming down on the safety workers recently, i believe NASCAR needs to look into that traveling safety crew it seems like a great idea

Prediction: My pick for Michigan is Bobby Labonte

Three'sCompanyrules
08-10-2003, 07:29 PM
I agree that was a wild race today and Robby is tough to beat on road course races. Iwas hoping Dale Jr. would have one he seemed to have the fastest car all day but lost the race on pit strategy.

I think Jeff Gordon is wrong blaming Kevin Harvick for the last wreck, because Jeff should have either gotten off the track or at least went to the bottom of the front stretch becuase he was in the middle of the groove not going very fast and Kevin was still going full speed, so its kind of hard for Kevin to quickly move, when Jeff shouldn't have been there in the first palce. I agree Rusty jeff should have not been on the track or atleast move out of the racing groove.

I hope Christian Fittapldi is ok to, when they showed him going in the ambulence he seemed to be ok, but I bet that is a scary feeling.

I have notice a lot of heat comming down on the rescue wrokers for not showing up at an accident on time it has happend twice this weekend, on Friday when Rryan Newman, who seems to be the most vocal about it, flipped over and then again today when Jeff crashed, also last year when Dale Jarrett crashed at Talladega, the rescue workers were late to get to him. I think NASCAR should have a medical crew go to every race just like in INDY car and cart racing.

My prediction for Michigan is Matt Kenseth

I'm disappointed I missed the end of the race.

Robbie Gordon, one of my favorite drivers, won the race. And Happy Harvick, another fave, punted the bad Gordon within spitting distance of the finish line!

It is nice to see RCR doing better this year. However, if ya know your NASCAR history, years ending in "2" don't count for RCR. '82, Earnhardt had defected to Bud Moore's Fords, and Ricky Rudd was in the driver's seat of the fledgling RCR team. '92, between two championship years, Earnhardt finished 12th in points.

Curse of the 2s, I tell ya.

Thanks for the news Rusty, I will definatly be tuning in to the major announcement. I wonder what this one could be. I wonder if it has to do with a full time or traveling Medical crew with NASCAR.

The Obsolete Man
08-14-2003, 03:45 AM
Nah... odds are, it's gonna be about what company will be NASCAR's official fuel provider once Unocal/76 steps out after this season.

As for the traveling safety crew... it's gonna take something major, like a death, before NASCAR gets off their asses and does something about that.

Remember, The HANS device was around all throughout the 2000 season. 3 drivers died that year who could've lived if NASCAR had mandated the HANS device before Adam Petty was killed. It took the death of the biggest, most well known driver out there in 2001 before NASCAR would even consider making the HANS device mandatory. And even then, they didn't do it until the drivers had all started using it on their own.

Good race today, and once again fuel mileage was the name of the game. That makes 5 for Newman congrats to him,

How about that wild wreck today, Bodine was slightly airborne
that was also kinda crazy is how the got thier nets down while moving, glad to see both Kenny and Todd were not injured.

And i just got finished reading on NASCAR.com where Jimmy Spencer punched Kurt Busch in the nose and broke it after the race in the garage

Next week is Darlington, so im going to go with Jeff Burton for a prediction, hes won there before and always runs well there

Yeah that was a great race today and the Todd Bodine and Kenny Wallace crash as well as the Ricky Craven and Casey Mears crash was scary, I'm glad they are ok.

I am disappointed about the Dale Jr. and Rusty Wallace incident on pit road, both guys had good cars and would have finished in good spots, except for Rusty who blew an engiene later on, but Dale Jr. could have had a good finish.

I saw that about Jimmy Spencer and Kurt Busch, it doesn't suprise me though they have a major fued going and now it sounds like Jimmy could have assult charges filed against him, this should get interesting.

My prediction for Bristol is Rusty Wallace he is always good on short tracks.

More on the Spencer/Busch situation

From NASCAR.com

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Jimmy Spencer was suspended Monday from all NASCAR-sanctioned competition until Aug. 26 for punching Kurt Busch in the garage at Michigan International Speedway.

Spencer was also fined $25,000 and placed on probation through the end of the year. Busch was put on probation until Dec. 31.

Well Jeff Gordon is on the pole for tonights race. This should be a great race to watch! The Bristol night race is my favorite race of the year, and it also has the most cautions, the record for cautions at Bristol is 23 in one race.

Three'sCompanyrules
08-24-2003, 12:56 AM
Well the racing was great as usual at Bristol, but I was so mad that Kurt Busch won, and even though I don't like Sterling but he should have gone and punched Kurt out for spinning him or Nascar should take away the victory, because I think that spinning someone out while on probation, he would get penalised some way. Kurt is way to cocky and he thinks eh can get away with anything.

Did you catch the scary wreck with Micheal Waltrip and Rusty Wallace, I'm glad to hear that Rusty is ok, and they tied the record for cautions at Bristol with 20.

With Jeff Gordon's wreck he fell to 5th in the points, and Kevin Harvick is now in 3rd and of course Dale Jr. is in 2nd, but I think Matt Kenseth is going to run away with the championship this year.

My prediction for Darlington is going to be an upset special Terry Labonte, his team has really improved this year.

RustyShackleford
08-24-2003, 08:07 PM
Yea, Bristol is 4th on my list of races i wait for all year long (followed by Daytona 500, and The Winston, and Pepsi 400 in Daytona) always great racing, Kurt Busch has become more annoying to me then Jeff Gordon, thats bad, Kurt should have not even been racing this week after they found out he inflicted the problem in the first place.

I saw that wreck Rusty and Michael had, I felt for Mike he had a good car and to have it go away like that was just awful, the last i heard on Rusty he went to the hospital, didnt hear anything after.

I also had to feel for Mark Martin he had an awesome car, i blame the pit crew for what happened the left the catch can and made him go to the back, those guys need to wake up

and an awesome run for Jamie McMurray in third, good to see that for him

Darlington Prediction: Ryan Newman

What a great win for Terry Labonte today I was happy for him adn I actualy got a prediction right this time, but anyway it was good to see him back in victory lane. A very good race today and again congratulations to Terry Labonte for winning the race!

Also there was there was the two six car pile ups glad to see everyone ok.

My prediction for Richmond is Jimmie Johnson he has been running great recently.

Awesome and wild race today, for the last Southern 500 on Labor Day weekend great job today by Terry Labonte he desirved to win it today its been a long time since his last one. on a side note its was a weekend for the 5's with Brian Vickers winning on Saturday.

I noticed that alot of the heavy hitters were in trouble today, especally Ryan Newman, that had to be heartbreaking for him

And another top 5 for Jamie, 2 weeks in a row for him, thats good

Chevy Rock and Roll 400 Prediction: Rusty Wallace
