I saw the ropers for the first time last night and i have a question about the opening credits-WHy is Mr. Roper dancing with a plunger in his hand? Correct me if i'm wrong but the ropers were living in a house so why did he still look like he was a landlord by having that plunger in his hand? I thought that was kind of weird.

Because they wanted to make the credits funny and Mr. Roper was probably still fixing things around his new home. But it didn't have anything to do with that, it was just meant to be funny . . .

Do you know if the wife from next door to the Ropers on the show is still acting?

 well, i always thought that Mr. Roper dancing with a plunger was in honor of "Three's Company" and how he always said he'd fix this or that but never got around to do it!? i like the statement that it was simply something funny to do. did anyone see the pilot of the show on "Three's Company"? We saw The Ropers driving an overheated jalopy on the streets of Los Angeles to their new condo! the look on Jeffrey Tambor's face is priceless. i think it was on that episode that he put a hose in his pants because he didn't want people to think he was watering his own lawn!

I guess that was the problem. He still had the look of MR. ROPER instead of Stanely Roper who was Married to Helen. Actually they could have used that opening with Mr. Roper holding the plunger for THree's Company-LOL
