What is the story behind Willona singing te Jeffersons them song?

I was wondering did anyone know how Willona from Good Times got to sing the Jeffersons theme song. Did she have a singing career before Good Times? Or did she know Sherman Hemsley or Isabel Sanford personally? So if anyone knows the story behind Willona singing the Jeffersons theme song feel free to let me know.

The thing that I know is that The Jeffersons and Good Times had a lot of the same producers starting out. As a matter of fact, the original Lionel on the Jeffersons(I forget his real name at the moment) helped create Good Times. Through strong connections, Wilona got her gig singing the Jeffersons theme and getting a part on GT.

The real first lionel name was mike evans and i know michaelmoye was someone who worked behind the scences on GT and the Jeffersons-but do you if willona-janet dubios hada singing career before the good times?
