We should all bring our extensive knowledge of Unsolved Mysteries together and make a program guide that tells the reader if there has been an update or not. One of the most frustrating things for me as a viewer of UM is to see a story and its update with the statement - "We'll bring you more on a future broadcast."

I feel the same way. It gets frustrating when updates don't get updated. In fact there is one Unsolved Mysteries update that is in dire need of being updated.

It was from a segment on the December 1991 abduction of a Texas woman named Colleen Reed. The latest update included the announcement that a man named Hank Worley was arrested and sentenced to 40 years in prison for his involvement in the kidnapping. It then went on to say that Kenneth McDuff was captured and sentenced to death for Colleen Reed's murder, even though her body had not been found. It ends with the mention that McDuff was appealing the convction. And that was it.

Well, that update is outdated, and it's really time to change that. And here's why: in October of 1998, Colleen Reed's remains were recovered (in addition to the remains of two other women that McDuff was suspected of killing, but was never charged in those particular cases). There were reports that McDuff led the authorities to Reed's remains in a deal to reduce a jail sentence for his nephew who was convicted of selling drugs.

On November 17, 1998, just one month after Colleen Reed's remains were finally recovered, Kenneth McDuff was executed by lethal injection.

I'm all for this. How can we make it happen?

Seems like this would work for a special episode of Lifetime's Unsolved Mysteries (toughest cases to solve or whatever). It would be a great book too.

I agree. In fact, I think it would be cool to see published a book on the Unsolved Mysteries cases that were solved, especially some of the most significant cases. I'd really like to see such a book made, just like America's Most Wanted Host John Walsh did in two of his books (No Mercy and Public Enemies).

I agree there should be a complete update page on this site ('87-'02). Lifetime.com obviously doesn't dedicate a lot of time to maintaining the cases, because most of those updates and wanted-alerts are ancient. This site is so muchb etter than that one.
